Anytime you're meeting up with anyone to buy from online, meet up at the police station. Most police welcome this. Never show up to meet a stranger who thinks you're carrying cash, unless it's the police station. Maybe this guy felt safe because he was a police officer, who knows, but no one is safe. Mooney, great video as usual!
Thanks for covering this story. I am working to n a poem for this fallen officer. The handcuffs being used really hit a chord. It was nice to hear what you do for a living,! I was wondering. Look forward to the next video.
Another fine video Mooney. I was in Brooklyn this past weekend for a family funeral when I heard about the shooting on the news. It is a tragic event that has happened to this officer, and his family, to lose a life over someone else’s disregard of a human being.
As you said, a sad ending to a tragic story. Especially because as he was a Muslim officer, I believe he was a bridge from that community to other communities in the city. It's always nice to see officers of all different faiths and cultures. A young man who leaves a wife and 2 children is always a tragedy. May he rest in peace. Thank you for telling the story so well as always!
Yes, back in the early 80s, following the influx of Vietnamese refugees to the Gulf Coast, a Vietnamese cop was hired for that reason. A bridge between cultures. Most cultures don't trust the cops.
What a world we live in tragic doesn't begin to cover it. My '01 VW GTI GLX was $2k on Marketplace. It has more issues than Road and Track magazine. With thanks to the best there is at this, never any doubt. Drive safe as always Mooney.
@@MOONEYDashCam Its a world its easy to feel unsafe in but, as you know more than most, trusting your instincts goes a long way. Stay safe yourself Mooney as ever. 👍
F'kin' pure insanity, over some short money in a robbery. I saw this on the news, I pray this young officer makes it. Nice journalism done here Mooney, great footage as well.
Mooney, you must be busy these days! Just sending a shout out to you and Truck, and I'm looking forward to your next video drop. Take it easy, and have a great week!
Something about seeing the actual crime scene is a special insight to a crime. Thanks for sharing this story. The way you tell them, you somehow make even mud puddles sound interesting lol. Edit: unfortunately the news reports are that Mr. Fayaz has died. My condolences to his family. So sad.
Mooney, we’re all a little concerned about you because everyone knows, all the way to the UK, how bad those areas are. It’s only a matter of time for anyone to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. While we all appreciate you, just watch your back! Even a cop with a gun got shot! Thanks for your efforts...
Mooneys safe there trust me, it’s not bad there and Mooney fights and shit so he’ll be just fine. I grew up not far from there it’s not bad, I think Brooklyn subways are way worse to be honest
Your videos are awesome, you take us to the spot, talk about it and show us actual footage and pictures of the crime scene at the time of the situations... Keep it up bro, I'm from Suffolk long island
Listen here, I lived in E.N.Y. on and off for 20 years and I would not meet anybody at night who believes I have 20K on me. Not gonna happen. My landlord was a cop at the 75th and a kid who lived around the corner from me father was a Sgt. there. So much stuff has happened there and it's a different generation now, but I used to be in foot all the time at different times. I would always be on point though. I really wish they could have saved this man, but they'll put this guy under the prisons up top. I can't understand why he didn't bring one of his fellow cops with him. I've seen how they roll so I'm really surprised and sad this happened.
Damn sad story, Mooney, but you always do a great job in the telling. Back in the Hole, wow! It looks worse than ever, dang! I imagine it's on your list already, but if you could do the story of Roseann Quinn (Looking for Mr. Goodbar fame), I know you'd knock it out of the park!! (Diane Keaton from The Godfather portrayed her in the movie, which also starred Richard Gere in one of his earliest films.) Thanks for all you do, and yeah, crazy situation you faced in the Hole. I can't believe the city hasn't backfilled it and done something with it by now. And Hi, Truck! Always great to see you still truckin'! ❤️
Mooney, I came across your channel a week ago, and just now finished all 105 Mafia videos, and I gotta hand it to you dude, you know your shit!👍 I think it's so cool getting to see the places where the shit went down, where until now I only read about it! I'm subbed up, and now it's onto the Biker gang Playlist!! You do a helluva job brother!👌
That’s a terrible story. He should have known better than to go to that area to meet someone to buy A car. It should have been in a more public place. So sad. Thank u brandon
Hey bro, shout out from Montreal Canada. LOVE your content . Combines 2 of my absolute fav things, the mob And New York. I wanted to suggest a future video, the murder of Montreal/New York mobster Gerlando Sciascia ( pronounced Sha Sha ) by none other than Joe Massino on March 18th 1999. He was a close family friend and I would love to see this vid. Thanks and keep it up!
I can't believe a cop would be willing to meet someone in a place like that in order to buy a car. You'd think your gut would tell you this doesn't feel right. Great video and info though!
😮 that wasn’t weird that was scary! They were definitely up to no good. So glad you weren’t harmed. Hope that cop makes it through and makes as full a recovery as possible. Thank you for this video. Another great one! Edited to add: I typed my comments before the video ended. RIP to that brave cop. So horrible for his family and community. Way too much murdering going on. 😢
Love riding around with ya bro. You do a great job. Stay safe out there though buddy please. Keep the truck running good for yourself and she won't let you down Again be safe. From here in Canada.
We still worry about our boy though, don't get complacent! I'm a retired Marine,if you need me for security hit me up. That's some sketchy neighborhood. Oh ,I seen that big rust spot kid!
Once again, another senseless death. RIP Officer. What did the perpetrator gain? And apparently he had 5 kids? What a legacy he's leaving his growing children. 👎
My deepest sympathies and grief for the fallen officer's family and his colleagues on their great loss. Very good job Mooney and Truck. Just curious if Aidid or his family was originslly from Eritrea or Ethiopia as his name and face roughly resemble an old junior college friend of mine from ther? Is his brother-in-law a cop himself, or former military? Very quick reactions on his part. I'm sure he did everything he could to save his brother. That area actually looks decent compared to what's down the block. I can understand why they agreed to meet there. I too used to drive around LA and Orange Counties into sketchy areas like Compton and Lynwood. If you know the ground it's easier to be safe. I've been robbed at gunpoint, been in a bank robbery and shot at so I learned to pay attention when the hairs on the back of my neck go up. Always pay attention to that feeling. Avoid what might be coming up if you can and be ready otherwise. It's like your dog growling. Might be nothing, might be something. Usually predators avoid a potential victim who looks alert and ready, like Mooney did in his situation. But some are stupid like this guy tackling a cop. He was lucky to get away alive at the scene. We'll see if Alvin Bragg, the other D.A.'s and Kathy Hocul can rescue him as they did in his other criminal acts. If he had been in prison where he belonged this wouldn't have happened. Maybe New York will elect people who will enforce the death penalty in this case.
My buddy and I always used to go together and both would be armed when buying used cars/bikes. I don’t buy used anymore with these jacked up COVID prices lol
Caught up on all your videos over the last day all so, all great as they always are. As for for suggestions, How about doing video on the actor Lilo Brancato from A Bronx Tale where he was involved in a burglary and an off duty NYPD cop was killed trying to stop them.
The scene has a silent hill type eeriness to it. When your dealing with xxx amount of $$$ you take precautions and play it safe. There's a lot of scam artists out there when it comes to Money/Strangers trust no one. This is a prime example of the destruction social media has erected around us it can be very tumultuous 💯👍🏾
That is the good part of the hole because I picked garbage down there and in the summertime bring a flyswatter it’s nasty. he should’ve met him in the daytime or better yet go to a car dealer. back in the early 90s they used to have the black cowboys down there and they had horses down there and they would give rides to kids and adults. It’s a shame all the guy wanted to do was buy a car and he ends up getting killed.

Yeah, it's not worth the risk - all the views in the world won't matter if something unthinkable happens.
It only takes a moment for you to bump into someone looking for a jux. Especially seeing a running car with the headlights on.
