There’s no need for an HSR as it’s too expensive to build, and the ticket price could end up being more expensive than a flight. The ETS3 by KTMB is already scheduled to start operations in April this year, connecting JB Sentral in Johor Bahru to KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, and extending all the way to Padang Besar and Butterworth in the north, with a connection to the SRT train to Bangkok, Thailand. In the future, travelers from Singapore can also use the RTS Link, connecting Woodlands North to Bukit Chagar, and easily transit at JB Sentral. This is expected to open by December 2026. If both governments still wish to proceed with a new rail link, they should consider a semi-HSR with speeds up to 200 km/h. The travel time difference is minimal - 90 minutes for HSR versus about 2 hours for semi-HSR - and it’s still faster than driving or flying, factoring in airport security checks and early check-in times.
If the number of people of visitors entering sg keep increasing, then hsr is still a good plan. People who come vacationing to sg will come to kl somehow. Both our countries are a really hot tourist spot right now

1st delay is because during transition period of PM5 scrap it that was 25 years ago. 2nd delay then PM6 try to resume the project but concurrently he proposed the HSR project, 3rd delay of land acquisition KTMB financial problem, 4th delay PM7-PM8-PM9 political crisis , 5th delay Covid-19 MCO period. Hopefully year 2025 2nd quarter will be full operation.
Cancel HSR is correct. ETS Johor goes thru highly populated Central Johor that serves also West Johor and East Johor. HSR only benefits a few people in West Johor coast, destined to lose money
Cost of HSR is expensive due to bridge to Singapore, new singapore station at jurong east. If hsr stop at jb and folks use rts to Singapore, cost will Be slashed by 1/3. Hsr can easily be built by just extending the current airport klia express. I think this track is good for 200km/ hr. First to PD and Malacca. Once completed and operational only extend to muar. Same process to batu pahat and jb. Let singapore build the jb to jurong east section if they want. This track can be used for passenger and cargo services. If the truly fast hsr 300 km/ hr, cargo trains cannot use.
That’s incorrect. HSR requires standard gauge track, higher grade rail, higher grade foundation, more expensive rail bridges that can withstand the speed. There’s also a need for big stations with long platforms (200m or longer) to cater for future needs (we don’t want cases like the 4-coach Kelana Jaya LRT which is now too small). Then there’s the expensive rolling stock for running at high speed (at least 250km/h). The stretch from KL to JB is 335km, with many bridges to build, and so much land to acquire (possibly the most expensive part). When you take all these costs into account, the cost for the bridge to Singapore (not more than 2.5km) and the section in Singapore (15km) is only a relatively small expense. And I’m sure Singapore will be contributing to the construction for their side.
The Transport Minister has just made announcement that it will be delayed again until Oct 2025. Again, no reasons were given! Extremely disappointed with the numerous times of delays without a solid reason!

okla.
Electric train kalau system punctual, gerabak banyak, takyah fikir sangat nak buat hsr. Special things about trains is this
KTM hanyalah operator, bkn pemilik. So kalau station tu buruklah, lift asyik rosak tu semua salah RAC yg tak buat kerja. Hanya satu je station yg KTM yg pegang iaitu KL sentral
With each station having such a large roof area, RAC or KTM could have installed solar panels to help with the station operations and feed back to the grid. A lost opportunity if they don’t do it. Even at KLIA, the terminal buildings have solar panels installed on the roof.
Yg aku dengar cerita dan baca komen2 dari netizen kat Chanel SCM ni, flyover tu nanti akan link kan jalan stesen KTM Kempas baru ni direct ke setia tropika, end kat area trafik light sebelum Petronas setia tropika tu. So dah kira macam link terus dengan Plus highway kat exit Setia Tropika.
Nak ke sg naik bas lagi senang. Tebrau shuttle kena tunggu lama, lepastu tak ada connecting train dari CIQ, kena naik bas. Kena tunggu rts siap baru seamless rail travel
we really appreciate and happy with all new development and projects. But wondering why KL-Seremban and KL-Klang routes so slow and need long time for waiting. Those days in 1990s just about 15 minutes. But nowadays some more up to 75 minutes. Hopefully by this 2025 at least back to 15 minutes, and suppose better.
This is due to KVDT2 project, which resulted in the lines running as a single track in certain sections. Meaning that if one train is in a single track section, the train in the opposite direction must wait until that train has cleared the section. This will continue to be up till at least 2026.
On schedule to open in April 2025? What is the frequency of the ETS from KL Sentral to JB Sentral? Once a day? Twice a day? Morning train? Business Class seating? I am just comparing the services of the southern route to the more established northern route from KL Sentral to Penang.
All the station buildings of this southern stretch are ways better in design , architecture , layout , quality and passenger-experience than those of the northern stretch . Who was the contractor of railway electrification of northern stretch ?
Company tetap sama iaitu KTMB.
Belum tahu lagi bro sebab projek pun tak siap lagi.
By the progress of it, I strongly doubt that this project will be complete in latest targeted date of mid-2025, consider 1. Electrification do not complete in most stations. 2. Extremely slow or barely any progress, you can compare video by video to know my point. 3. Trial of speed and electric components takes months to have enough data, now you compare it with the slowness of entire project, it will be another decade. (delayed for so many time already, should be considered as kid crying wolf project, just like any rapid transit project in Johor Bahru). I would not believe anything said by EDTP project or anyone from government at all.
Couldn't agree more! And nobody takes the responsibility to explain what is the actual reason for the delays!! Extremely disappointed with the manner the authority is handling this project. Delayed not by months, but years!!!
Kena tukar sebab electrification upgrade untuk ETS belum siap lagi, nanti dah siap direct naik ETS kat JB Sentral terus ke KL tanpa perlu tukar kat Gemas. Sekarang ni masih belum ada ETS kat stesen² lepas Gemas, nanti dah siap semua stesen kt Johor pakai ETS. Sepatutnya siap pertengahan tahun 2025 ni tapi tengoklah macam mana.
once running the existing ETS will be adjusted so that there are trains running from KL to JB using these stations. The existing once a day train will be stopped. Currently i think there are temporary stations and platforms until all the stations are opened. You can see from the video that some of the stations are already open and operating.
@@muhammadammaranuar okay faham2 sbb kat bandar besar n padat mungkin dah x bnyk ruang sgt. Kat kluang pun kiri kanan banyak bangunan siap sebelah kem askar lg. Jarang nak tgk KTM elevated ni. Stesen2 kat Johor bukan main megah lg siap siap ada sentuhan diraja Johor.

i really dont understand why still got some who pushed for hsr. with this double track route connected from padang besar till jb and the upcoming ecrl and rts, all tracks in peninsular almost 100% interconnected already. if build hsr than you have a redundant track that serve no real value. i rather they built lrt in jb like in penang instead so more people will take public transport than drive

Tu yg menariknya ETS ni dia tekan cecah 140km/j kat meter gauge.

From a simple and efficent system can make it into such complicated system.😮
Boleh speed up 180kmh. Setidak2nya kalau xde HSR pun xla nampak buruk / ketinggalan negara Malaysia kita ni Dihina jiran2. Rugi ets xbuat standard gauge Dari awal. Mungkin sebab cost.
@@saifsaiful2179 I have discussed on this with others before. If by "JB", it's at 2nd link/Iskandar Puteri, that's fine. But if it's JB Sentral, then it will actually create even bigger losses because there's already KTMB from there to KL. The only exceptions being Batu Pahat & Melaka, the other stations of the HSR are already covered by an existing rail line. And HSR already loses out in terms of costs, & even frequency if including Putrajaya. Plus, JB Sentral is already crowded as it is. With the RTS straddling the middle of Jln Tun Abdul Razak & over the KTMB railway as you see in the video, & not forgetting the elevated ART plan, there's no way they can put the HSR in JBS side without sacrificing a few buildings.
@@Zero.DarkStar worse. I'm actually in the possibility of BOTH sides not taking HSR to/from KL & JB, preferring the cheaper & more connected KTMB, or even stick to coaches or their own vehicles. johor dari segi infra antara negeri yg maju gak..
Depot kempas baru masih banyak tak siap..nampak gaya paling cepat operasi ets dalam oktober 2025 😅
Flyover apetu kat station kempas baru..
Yg aku dengar cerita dan baca komen2 dari netizen kat Chanel SCM ni, flyover tu nanti akan link kan jalan stesen KTM Kempas baru ni direct ke setia tropika, end kat area trafik light sebelum Petronas setia tropika tu. So dah kira macam link terus dengan Plus highway kat exit Setia Tropika.
@hzhayb197 mantap👍👍
baru nak tanye nape aleh2 ada flyover kat roundabout tu - TQ info
@@hzhayb197baguslah mcm tu senang dari plus nk ke KTM Kempas
What are the connectivities available via JB Station ?
JB CIQ, R&F mall, City Square Mall, JBCC Komtar, JB Sentral Bus Terminal for now. After RTS is opened, new links include Coronation Square.
Until now, nobody can tell when it will be operational. Complete silence from the government.
ETS most likely will be in Oct/Nov if there's no more delay. Komuter might start first.
Kena tunggu rts siap baru seamless rail travel
@@ajzmn3538 ada je flight direct ip-sg. tapi nak naik tren jugak hehe sbb nak feel pemandangan kota2 di jb
👍
What year will it be open for service?
we really appreciate and happy with all new development and projects. But wondering why KL-Seremban and KL-Klang routes so slow and need long time for waiting. Those days in 1990s just about 15 minutes. But nowadays some more up to 75 minutes. Hopefully by this 2025 at least back to 15 minutes, and suppose better.
Kata Rafizi sebab kelemahan penyelenggaraannya. Sampai tak cukup gerabak & enjin. 😢
This is due to KVDT2 project, which resulted in the lines running as a single track in certain sections. Meaning that if one train is in a single track section, the train in the opposite direction must wait until that train has cleared the section. This will continue to be up till at least 2026.
When operational? At least can use soon instead of waiting for 10 years if ever HSR is to be built
On schedule to open in April 2025? What is the frequency of the ETS from KL Sentral to JB Sentral? Once a day? Twice a day? Morning train? Business Class seating? I am just comparing the services of the southern route to the more established northern route from KL Sentral to Penang.
❤❤❤❤❤
All the station buildings of this southern stretch are ways better in design , architecture , layout , quality and passenger-experience than those of the northern stretch . Who was the contractor of railway electrification of northern stretch ?
The never ending construction project
It looks like very few parking lots at kempas
Company tetap sama iaitu KTMB.
Belum tahu lagi bro sebab projek pun tak siap lagi.
Jan 2027 start operasi
Why should it be postponed again?? 😢😢😢
Too many delays for this rail project
So, it will be fully electrified from jb to padang besar? Next is Gemas to Tumpat, that will need more money prolly 20 billion
By the progress of it, I strongly doubt that this project will be complete in latest targeted date of mid-2025, consider
JB go to KL how much hours to use
Fully operational? By GLC standard will be End of 2025
Can't wait to take a sleeper train from JB to hat yai if ktm...
Dari gemas? Bermakna belum ada direct kl-jb lagi la kan? Masih kena tukar train di gemas? Ke mcm mana?
Kena tukar sebab electrification upgrade untuk ETS belum siap lagi, nanti dah siap direct naik ETS kat JB Sentral terus ke KL tanpa perlu tukar kat Gemas.
Sekarang ni masih belum ada ETS kat stesen² lepas Gemas, nanti dah siap semua stesen kt Johor pakai ETS.
Sepatutnya siap pertengahan tahun 2025 ni tapi tengoklah macam mana.
Tahun ni tak perlu dah tukar²
@@amirism91 tapi tak tahu lagi bila siap
Does the existing train service run thru these stations or are they completely new and not connected ?
once running the existing ETS will be adjusted so that there are trains running from KL to JB using these stations. The existing once a day train will be stopped. Currently i think there are temporary stations and platforms until all the stations are opened. You can see from the video that some of the stations are already open and operating.
sbb stsen2 kecik tu jd mcm buffer, laluan utk ketapi yg dr pantai timur jd x gangu sgt
@@muhammadammaranuar okay faham2 sbb kat bandar besar n padat mungkin dah x bnyk ruang sgt. Kat kluang pun kiri kanan banyak bangunan siap sebelah kem askar lg. Jarang nak tgk KTM elevated ni. Stesen2 kat Johor bukan main megah lg siap siap ada sentuhan diraja Johor.
@@AdikaHassan93Setakat ni KTMB ada 5 stesen elevated.
1. Sungai Gadut, Negeri Sembilan (2011)
2. Skypark Subang, Selangor (2018)
3. Segamat, Johor (2024-5)
4. Kluang, Johor (2024-5)
5. Rengam, Johor (2024-5)

i really dont understand why still got some who pushed for hsr. with this double track route connected from padang besar till jb and the upcoming ecrl and rts, all tracks in peninsular almost 100% interconnected already. if build hsr than you have a redundant track that serve no real value. i rather they built lrt in jb like in penang instead so more people will take public transport than drive

Waiting for direct train from JB to KL
Yes

Mindset staf pun satu hal lagi.

Increase the EMU train speed to 180 kmh is good enough than HSR.🎉
Tu yg menariknya ETS ni dia tekan cecah 140km/j kat meter gauge. Safety margin barangkali.
@@fitrizailani8382 kalau diikutkan bahaya sebenarnya. Sebab betul2 atas limit.
@@AZRI135 Ya, ktmb pernah test ETS sampai 190km/j dulu. 140km/j tu pun dah cukup laju dah. Apa pun ktmb memang tekankan kesalamatan penumpang. Safety over profit.
First
Meleleh do business sure Bangkrup as they dont know how to Run Business. The British already left behind a good train Service from Woodlands Singapore all the way to Padang Besar with just one ticket you can travel all the way.
Now you need to buy 3 different tickets and change 3 trains just to go from Woodlands to Kuala Lumpur and worst is carrying your heavy bags around..Who wants to use your cumbersome train system?? From a simple and efficent system can make it into such complicated system.😮
KTM is supposed to serve Malaysia. Who cares about Chinkabore?
Boleh speed up 180kmh. Setidak2nya kalau xde HSR pun xla nampak buruk / ketinggalan negara Malaysia kita ni Dihina jiran2. Rugi ets xbuat standard gauge Dari awal. Mungkin sebab cost.
Lagipun, tak pakai standard gauge bukan bermaksud ketinggalan zaman.
jgn byk songeh lah ..
Make EDTP join ECRL and ETS will do. HSR only benefits SG. **Unless they make it from SG-KL-BKK than its worth**
They are already joining through the upcoming Serendah Baru station.
To save costs, it would be better if the HSR station is built only up to Johor Bahru.
With the RTS straddling the middle of Jln Tun Abdul Razak & over the KTMB railway as you see in the video, & not forgetting the elevated ART plan, there's no way they can put the HSR in JBS side without sacrificing a few buildings.
benefits only SG? SG take but Malaysia won't earn money? wow.
@@Zero.DarkStar worse. I'm actually in the possibility of BOTH sides not taking HSR to/from KL & JB, preferring the cheaper & more connected KTMB, or even stick to coaches or their own vehicles. Bear in mind PLUS is getting expanded between Senai (Utara) & Ayer Hitam (up to Yong Peng in the near future) at this time as well. So the draw towards driving their own vehicles may be even bigger since with this, a common choking points (which leads to jam) like at Spg. Renggam & Sedenak may be a thing of the past (excluding accident probabilities)
