"A teacher at a Pflugerville ISD middle school, whose identity has not been released, has now been let go after a video containing an "inappropriate conversation" started circulating around social media.
In the video, a teacher is having a discussion with some students inside a classroom. It's not clear how the conversation was started at Bohls Middle School, but the teacher was captured saying, "Deep down in my heart, I'm ethnocentric, which means I think my race is the superior one."

I wonder how many black students have received lower grades than their counterparts due to their skin color and not their quality of work. He should never be allowed in ANY educational system. Why didn't the school release his name? Still trying to protect him. His grading system should be evaluated to see if his biases reflected how he dispensed grades. Guaranteed the minority students were given lower grades.

This is why all schooling should be at home. Parents are at home or at work thinking their kids are protected in a safe learning environment - meanwhile, these kids are being bullied, harassed, brainwashed, peer pressured, insulted, and racially profiled everyday, all year long in the schools. These kids go through hell in the schools.

I had a teacher in HS and one in college tell me that I wasn’t working at my full potential and they could tell I was being lazy by looking at me. Both gave me full letter grades lower on my assignments as a result.
The college professor actually answered when I asked how she could tell and she said, all fat people are lazy… it’s the only reason they’re fat. I transferred out of her class, they let me and said it was common. I wish I was surprised they never thought it was an issue.
Keep in mind, in HS I worked and was involved in the athletics program in various capacities, and I was a triple major in collage at that time, and had 3 part time jobs. Over worked, yes. Lazy hell no.

I grew up in a racist household. My mom called black people the N-word, and brown people either a Spick, or Wetback. I don’t think my dad was a racist, but he used the n-word to delineate people with the same name. My dad had a friend named Sarge. Our neighbor across the street was also named Sarge. So, he would call his friend Sarge, and our neighbor was n-word Sarge. In the summer between 1st and 2nd grade, neighbor Sarge had a pregnant sow. I wanted to see it give birth. I told Sarge the same. One day I’m on my bike, and he’s pulling out in his truck. He stops and tells me that he pretty sure she having her litter today. He was going into town but would be back in an hour. I asked what happens if she having her babies, and he’s not there. He let me go in his yard and keep watch until he gets home. When he got home I told him I thinks she giving birth right now. He looked at her and said, she’s about there, alright. He took his groceries in the house. About 10 minutes go by, and I start yelling: n-word Sarge, n-word Sarge, she’s having her babies! He comes running out, and he practically yells, What did you say to me! I meekly say (because he seemed mad) I just said that she’s having her babies. He said, no, I mean what did you call me? I was confused. I said, I called you Sarge. He said you called me sometime else too. I shrugged my shoulders, and said, n-word Sarge. He looked down at me, and asked me, do you know what n-word means? I said, I guess it’s a black person. He patted me on the shoulder, and said let’s watch out for (forgot the sows name) and I’ll tell you a story when she’s done. Afterwards he got me a soda pop, and we sat down. He told me about Mississippi. He told me about WWII. He showed the bullet scars on his chest, and his stomach on the side, and the one on his back where the bullet had come out. He told about what being in uniform and not being able to go any restaurants he wanted to felt like. He told me about his dead cousin who had been murdered, probably because he smiled and winked at a white girl. I was horrified at the things he had told me. I wanted to cry because I felt so bad about things that had happened to him, and his family, and friends that he had had. I told him that I promise I’ll never use that word again. He smiled and said, it ain’t against the law to use that word, but you’re a good boy. When I went home, my mom asked me if n-word Sarge’s sow had her piglets. I told her you shouldn’t ever say that! She was confused, and said, say what. I told her, n-word! N-word is a bad word! I told her some of what Sarge had said. She was so angry. She wanted to go across the street and tell Sarge off. My dad wouldn’t let her. She forbade me to go back over to his property. About a month later an ambulance was called out to his house. I found out later he had a fatal heart attack. I had never seen Sarge during that month except for a wave as he drove by one day. I have never broken that promise to him. And, I am so grateful for that long talk we had that day. It changed me in a way that I didn’t understand at that time. But, I sure understand now.

As a black person I’m not in the least bit surprised. I had a teacher try to downgrade me from the highly gifted magnet classes to remedial classes because of one bad semester in one class. I was retested for the magnet program and scored college level in all subjects except for a few that were in 11th and 12th grade. I was in 7th grade at the time. I was ably to get a scholarship to a private school that paid more attention to students and I excelled there. How many black kids share my story?!

1 is too many, but it’s probably much more 😒I’m glad you got the education you deserved, but you’re right. The way we fund education by local taxes & test scores puts so many kids at a disadvantage. If public schools were equal like they’re supposed to be, kids wouldn’t have to hope for a magnet school or scholarship just to get a fair shot at life. I wrote a paper about it in college, because I found out kids in the nearest big city (KC MO) were still being bused to suburban schools an hour away, as part of a desegregation program from the 60s, to give at least some of them a better education. My younger siblings HS had a pool, a greenhouse, etc. The schools those kids were bussed away from couldn’t even afford basic maintenance or text book replacements. Those “underperforming” schools would get fixed at lightning speed, if the bussing went the other way.

Right? I think in biology, human evolution should be taught in great detail. Because if you look at our ancestors we are all only one subspecies of the dozens of other human species who died.
Many extinct subspecies who were all in the same species litterally had different skulls, teeth, bone density, hight, amounts of body hair, and cognitive abilities, and were all the same species
Meanwhile we are all just one subspecies. Meaning we are all so closely related, and make up such a tiny sliver of the human diversity that once was, that all we can piont to is a few genetic differences related to health, like the people whos ancestors came from sub saharan Africa being more likely to get single sell anaemia, because of an adaptation to help overcome malaria, and then skin color. Those are the only tiny differences we have. Some people have more pigmentation in their skin, but all have the same blood, muscles, bones, and the other innards
Can you imagine how bad racism would be right now if ACTAUL biological human diversity existed? Like a seperate subspecies of human? We'd have all killed eachother by now like what happened to Neanderthals
God we can be terrible things

That's the point children are vulnerable in the relationship with adults. We must choose wisely who teach children. Handle our most important assets. .

      But...there's a good ending. 👍
I used this horrible situation to motivate me in my studies. I became a college professor and tried to be a compassionate person.
