Alpine Linux: Configuring BSPWM, Polybar, Picom, XFCE4 and more

Alpine Linux does not receive as much love as it should as a desktop base. It is a perfectly capable experience for documents, email, browsing, programming, virtualization, etc. It's also HIGHLY resource efficient. Follow along for a detailed, thorough, and explanatory guide for getting Alpine Linux set up with BSPWM, XFCE4, Picom, and Polybar. Fair warning, this is a late night project for me. I also delve into configuring some of these services for the first time. I've condensed 6+ hours of research down to less than an hour of follow-along steps.

Man I was trying to setup alpine linux with a desktip environment in the past two days and it was so annoying, not to metion it's slow. I will follow what you did in this video, this one looks much better. I really appreciate what you this video!!

Nice video, but I am first time install linux on virtualbox and worked it. Now I got problem when play youtube video cannot play. I dont know how to fix it

@@wahyuanjay4365 Really strange, because if it was just sound, I would guess audio driver (alsa or pulseaudio)

might be just the VM environment. VM environments are difficult to maintain for a desktop. They're not designed with that aspect in mind. I would check and make sure you're not missing a dependency needed for web or video playback. Start by installing firefox; it pulls a lot of those dependencies. @@wahyuanjay4365
