Historic Day for UW Health's Med Flight

When Dr.Cynthia Griffin, RN Deborah Volgarino, and Pilot Kai Ficek worked their first shift together, they made Med Flight history. It was the first time the critical care transport program had an all-female crew since the program began in 1985. Med Flight is one of the few programs in the country that flies with a physician or provider specialist on board. While the program has many female physicians and nurses, when a female pilot joined the Med Flight team, these women created history.
