When it comes to Andy Bumatai, I have the utmost respect for this man. When my daughter needed speakers for her group assemblies she sent a letter to several people. Andy Bumatai responded immediately and had us crying with laughter. He is such a class act who gives back unselfishly and he is so damn funny! What a great legend.
I've had the honor of MCing for Andy on the west coast. He's taken me under his wing and I know how fortunate I am for his guidance. But wow...hearing all these stories fills me with even more awe than I already feel for this amazing mentor. What a great interview. Mahalo nui Tumua...this interview is golden. And yeah....Andy likes to start early! I learned THAT the hard way! LOL
I remember Andy Bumatai in 1976-1977@ Alamoana parking lot. He was with DJ KOMO SAMI KONG, LOL. They were making a Joke at my friend and I. 😂 You guys so funny, Loved it, back in the day ❤🤙
Ho one other legend! I never knew Andy Bumatai performed at the Comedy Store! It's awesome hearing all his stories from waaaay back in the day! Mahalo for the awesome interview!
This pairing totally makes sense. So glad to see the criminally underrated Andy Bumatai, cutting it up with such a funny young comedian - great job Tumua. The legacy continues 🤙 Also… FIRST!
I had no idea he lived on the mainland and performed with other legends at the Comedy Store. It’s true he’s sorely underrated. I bet if he went on Joe Rogans’s (and other comedian’s podcast), he’d blow up and get the recognition he deserves. His life’s story needs to be known.
Tumua, entertaining interview with Andy, good flow and great overview of his life story. Andy is interesting and very funny, but thanks also for the depth and revealing motivation. It is so good to see your mutual respect, stand up to stand up. Mahalo!
I liked Frank DeLima's Pake ("Chinee"/Chinese), Portagee (Portugese), Book Book ("Filipino"), Yobo ("Korean") and Sole ("Samoan") accents; very authentic.
Hulō Andy Bumatai - Love hearing the OG names … Tumua - i hope you checked out K K Kaumanua 😂 a favorite of my generation - listened on the radio… .. 👍🏼
Was that Magoo's Pizza at Puck's Alley Andy was refering to back in the day? Be sure to check out Andy's Podcast, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 PM Hawaii Time. www.youtube.com/@AndyBumataiShow
1992 at the Maui Beach Hotel I was in the front row and Andy roasted me about my hair 😂 2024 in Tacoma I was in front row and Tumua roasted me about my beard 😂 ~Santa Clause
When he mentioned the GONG lol that’s why we say in Hawaii today “What she wen GONG your line” lol would basically what she went cutt your line ? Lmaooo crazy to think I just put that together rn lmao
Naturally funny! Andy is da bes 🥰 Both (Tumua and Andy) of your minds think funny, not funny kine, just funny! 😂We love Andy hes from my era 🥰I just wish he would speak the way he naturally speaks, pidgin that is. I know he doesnt encourage Pidgin, but hes not being himself. Concentrating too much on speaking like one mainlander than being funny lol.
Andy is another winna guest!!!!
Love hearing from guys about the same age as me. Such wisdom!

For real! It make me wonder if any of the big stars took andy's ideas...saying he was first to do some things. Was good stories! interesting to hear!
Thanks, Andy! You got me thru my wife’s cancer (she’s good) and the pandemic. You’re the best

There's a spot, somewhere on-line, of Andy being introduced by Pat Morita. Think it's Showtime Comedy?
Eddie Murphy got it from Richard Pryor in the movie Witch Way Is Up The best move ever
I miss living in Hawaii
Showtime at the Apollo-1988...18mins
