You produced an attractive and sleek design, so congratulations. My experience with this kind of furniture is that it's difficult to get in/out of the bed without banging my shins on the platform's edges. So I would want either to be sure that all the platform's edges are strong enough to stand on when I enter or leave the bed, or at least to round off the platform's sharp edges and corners in some way. Your design should also support convenient disassembly of the bed frame, so that it can be moved from room to room or to another home if desired.
The amount of wood used in this is astronomical. I'm sure one can use less like 50pc less to achieve the same result and make it easy to assemble and disassemble.
I love the bed. I would like to have all the specs so I could replicate it. My son would love to have one just like this. I have been looking for one just like this but haven't found it until yours. Thanks
Right, you kept it really simple and you also kept me from going out and buying a really expensive saw, the rail are really nice finish touch, nice work my friend
Im putting together ideas to create a base for my king size waterbed. I need LOTS of strength. This came out killer! Very nice-thank you for inspiring! :D
Did you make you bed yet ? There is a great article by Ian Kirby on building Torsion Boxes. Very lightweight and strong/resistant to twisting. It's the same principle as Airplane wings. Fine Woodworking, ?1982. Let me know if you can't find it.
Saw the thumbnail and was definitely going to make it. Watched the video and um.. I'm going to have to make a few adjustments. It's a heck of a build. Not sure I could pull it off as good as you did. Nice work!!
Has already been said but very nice efficient, minimal production method! Can you please tell more about your finishing/staining methods? Wipe on poly?
Thank you! I start with pre-stain conditioner to avoid blotches and unevenness of stain. Then I mixed equal parts of dark walnut stain, English chestnut stain and mineral spirits. Left it to dry for a day and finished with wipe-on poly. I did three coats of wipe-on poly, sanded lightly and did 2-3 more coats. Sanding in between.
I enjoyed the simplicity of production. And it was nice not listening some guy try to keep it alive with forced energy. I think I’m gonna make what you made. Probably with an angled headboard. Not sure how yet, but I’ll get there.
Loved the video, the editing wasn't that bad tbh (music slightly too loud but that's personal. Do you have a cut list for this? If not then adding lumber measurements on screen during editing would be good
I’ve been looking to build a floating bed and I love this design you made. Would you be willing provide me with measurements for this project for a queen size bed.
Just take your queen size mattress measurements and start by making the mattress base from there most of the other measurements could be too your preference
Love the bed so much. It is amazing the power tool you have are the circulate saw and drill. The bed looks so beautiful. What kind of color stain do you use ?
Hi, great work piece. Can you provide link to where the stains can be purchased: Pre-stain conditioner Minwax Dark Walnut English Chestnut. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the video, I must commend your work. I’d like to know the type of wood you used for the bed, and how much weight it can withstand. Thank you
Thank you, I used pine boards which are cheap and easy to cut. And the bed is extremely sturdy. Maybe too sturdy for a build like this but thats what I was going for.
I thought pine wood was soft? 😢 I’m trying not to get some wood that would break after a while, cos the bed frame is kinda permanent. I’m sorry for my english
That's genius with limited tools. Awesome and amazing work of art! Thank you for sharing..
The clam. The Ruler and Circular Saw for straight cuts with out a table saw or miter saw is game changer for me. Thank you for sharing. Great work
Haha! I really appreciated that. Thank you!👍
I see you with the ryobi! All green everything u a green machine!

Very nicely done, especially given the limited set of tools you used.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you!😁

Carlo Ray, si volvieses a hacer la cama, mejorarías o harías algo de diferente manera?

God's talent, amazing
Thank you
I like this "floating" platform bed, though it is not floating at all!
I enjoyed the simplicity of production. And it was nice not listening some guy try to keep it alive with forced energy. I think I’m gonna make what you made. Probably with an angled headboard. Not sure how yet, but I’ll get there.
Cool! Hope I come across it one day!
Amazing Amazing and Amazing
Thank you thank you and thank you!😂🙏
Impressive.
Nice work! Good music too 👌
Haha! Thanks much appreciated!
What wood is this please? I love the design! Thank you for the video by the way! Amazing and creative mind ;)
Thank you! It's pine wood that's been stained!👍
@@CarloRay : it looks so cool. Could you please tell,, What stain you have used?
It was so cool.. 😍😃
Wow!!
Thank you!!
Very nice. If you don't mind, What did You apply prior to putting on the dark stain?
Thank you. It's a pre stain conditioner, which helps avoid blotches when staining. If you try it, it should give you a more even colour in the end.
Loved the video, the editing wasn't that bad tbh (music slightly too loud but that's personal.
Do you have a cut list for this?
If not then adding lumber measurements on screen during editing would be good
True because the whole concept of showing this on you tube was about encouraging DIY spirit
Hey solid work bro. Would you happen to have the cut list and materials for this?
Hella dope
🙏🙏thank you
You should put down what materials you used and how much in your bio
I wonder what wood stain he used
The exact stain I used is equal parts dark walnut stain and english chestnut stain, both minwax brand.
Great job, sir!
Thank you!😊

That shit looks solid as hell!!
Thanks, that means a lot!😀😀
Parabéns ótimo trabalho 👏👏👏👏
Wonderful, bit don't you need to fix it between the upper and lower frames?
Definitely awesome but the most complicated piece I’ve ever seen built
This bed so solid it can stand an elephant
Hi, great work piece. Can you provide link to where the stains can be purchased: Pre-stain conditioner
Minwax Dark Walnut
English Chestnut. Thanks in advance.
Excelente proyecto .. me gustaría hacer ese proyecto sería bueno q puedas poner las medidas. Saludos desde Perú

Nice project. Would you be able let me know about the specs ? Thanks.

You could wrap foundation around with veneered plywood .
I was waiting for a actual floating bed
Hola, proyecto precioso. ¿Tienes planos del proyecto, aunque solo sea un croquis?
Saludos desde España
Nice,How much it cost? Where do I can get one
So beautiful! Do you take commissions? If so I would be very interested in making a purchase of basically this exact same bed!
Beats are hard. I must know what they are
What did you use to wipe down the wood before staining? It was the stuff in the white bottle.
Mineral spirits
Are these type of beds practical ??? Thinking of buying one but not sure yet
Love the video, the music at the beginning was super annoying though. The second track was way better. much love.
Thank you. I didn't pay attention to it that much when I made the video but I completely agree. 🤣🤣 I appreciate your feedback.
Gangsta
what kind of wood is he using
I used pine boards and dimensional lumber from home depot. 😁 They used to be a lot cheaper.
Genial 👍💪
Nice bro, but I need for infor exp Drawing detail with Dimension :)
What was your process when finishing the wood? Was that wood conditioner and what type of stain? It looks fantastic.
Thanks for the video, I must commend your work. I’d like to know the type of wood you used for the bed, and how much weight it can withstand. Thank you

Muy bonita, pero muy complicada para hacerse. ❤
