Caleb delivered such an amazing performance in that scene where Lucas is holding Sadie. So heart wrenching. When he yelled “Erica,help” tore my heart out.

The sword on the floor was probably a leftover from the battle with the Russian prisoners vs Demogorgan earlier. Remember they all had to select a weapon from the inventory to fight it.

They’ve already set up the way for Max to recover. Multiple sources within the show confirm that Vecna somehow absorbs his victims, be it like their souls or consciousness or essence or whatever together with their energy and power.
So he is the key to getting Max’s for lack of a better word “soul” back, which clearly involves defeating him, since Eleven was able to bring her body back to life, hence why she’s in a coma. Her heart’s still beating, but no one’s at home. Kinda ups the stakes from typical “save the world” boring crap to finding a way to bring their friend back to life in the process, one who the previous season really got the audience emotionally invested in.

@@bendover69 I imagine Vecna pretty much did to Max's eyes the same as what he did to Eleven's... and he was stopped before he could finish them off. So they'll be ok.
Did he also absorb her spine and eyes? Her limbs got absolutely mangled, eyes destroyed - heaving milky husks behind, spinal damage rendering her unable to move or feel anything...
Short of Jesus making a cameo or El going full Jesus, she's better off dead, being a blind quadriplegic is a fate worse than death - unable to move and and see anything and just stuck inside your own head.

Your reaction to the clock going off with the gates opening was exactly how me and my almost 10 year old and 7 year old daughters were reacting. We were absolutely losing our minds. That scene is so intense! Gives me literal chills.

This episode is a 9.9/10. The only issue I have is the huge plot armor for the big characters. Max dies but gets revived. It feels like they just brought Eddie into the show to die so they don't have to kill any big characters. Other than that this episode is a masterpiece.
I do agree, but I feel like that also been pretty consistent with the whole show. They are afraid of killing major characters. I get why because they don’t want the tone of the show to be too depressing, but it would definitely have fit this season and its ending, leading into a possibly very dark Season 5.

Max's mind is missing though so it still figures into all of the plot so far...
If she was simply in a coma/damaged like 11's mother, Max would be there when 11 went to find her. Max's mind has been stolen and needs to be freed.

Fun fact Joseph (Eddie) actually improvised the scene when he says his last words "I love you to" Gatan (Dustin) that's how good of a actor he is RIP to such a great beautiful soul and character I love that his uncle got closure. Also, I feel so bad for Max she's been through hell and back and is still going through it being in a coma season 5 is about to be crazy I can't wait for it.
This just became my all-time favorite reaction on the channel! It’s so synonymous with the way I felt watching this masterpiece of an episode. Tears were definitely shed & I felt pretty much every emotion possible. So hyped to see how this all plays out in the final season!

I think Max will still end up dying. My theory is that Eleven “revived” Max in order to keep the huge craters under control since in a way, they need the 4 people Vecna choose in order for them to fully work at their full power. Another theory, is that Max is still within Vecna since Eleven can’t find her consciousness in her body which makes sense since Eleven interrupted Vecna’s curse.
That’s something I was thinking about. Like would the craters have kept going around the whole world if Max wasn’t revived? Which could be what happens in Season 5 and Max finally passing away in her coma allows for the upside down to fully come into the world even quicker maybe, idk. Currently it seems like it’s only coming into Hawkins because that’s where the craters are.
I was thinking the opposite. That maybe since she is alive, she can hurt Vecnafrom within. She might die, but it would be a sacrifice to help Eleven.

That final scene gave me heavy Spielberg vibes. The wind, the score, the shot. Reminded me a lot of the E.T. finale but of course with a darker tone

Lucas crying as Max dies in his arms is what devastated me. While I am upset that Eddie died I love the fact that he didn't run away this time. Since the first episode of season 4 he's blamed himself for running away when Vecna killed Chrissy so in a way his dying to save everyone was his redemption 💔. Rest in Rock & Roll Eddie 🤟🏾🎸
This is how you do a finale. It does not get better than this. Visually, mentally, emotionally, a masterpiece. The scene in the attic that alternates between Hopper having an olden sword fight like a knight fighting the monster, and Nancy, Steve and Robin molotoving Vecna and Nancy stepping her badass level up a 1000. Her character development since season one is crazy. There was so much happening, I think I felt every single emotion a million times, then repeat.
"I gotta calm down." immediately followed by shouting "HOLY SHIT!!" about 20 times!

I first saw this episode yesterday and I did not unclench the whole 137 minutes
I actually loudly exhaled when credits came on. I was feeling EVERY emotion.
bruh i cried soooo much this season!!!!!!!!!!!!! especially when lucas was screaming after max died 😭😭☹😭😭
There are so many things I like about this season finale.
First, how badass Hopper is with that sword is a fitting tribute to a D&D battle; he did what Nancy should have done with Vecna by going for the Demogorgon’s head.
That practical helicopter explosion by Eleven was pure cinematic.
Almost everyone had a superb emotional breaking scene. The top one for me goes to Dustin and the second goes to Lucas. The third is Will revealing his true feelings, and then Mike finally tells Eleven that he loves her.
The death of Eddie is bittersweet. He died unsung, but it was his year to graduate, and he did it in style. He ran into the face of danger.
I did not want Max to die because I felt it would defeat her storyline in episode 4, where she overcame her trauma but seeing how she is willing to sacrifice herself for her friends had indeed shown how strong she has become. There are different ways to die, weak and depressing, or for love and friendship. As of now, she is holding onto a thread of lifeline. I believe she will make a full recovery by the season five finale and have the ultimate triumphant arc of overcoming adversity.
Finally, how good the writings are, especially on character buildings. Every character introduced did something memorable and impactful. From the leading core group to the secondaries and side characters, no one sits idling, except for Mr. Wheeler cracking jokes and clueless to what is happening, lol.
I cried 3 times, Eddie Death, Max almost dead, and when Dustin tell to the uncle of Eddie that he is gone.. I cried 3 times like the last episode of season 3

I never thought Steve was gonna die. I don't understand why anyone else thought he would. I also didn't think Eddie would, and that shocked the Hell out of me, as did Max's temporary death. But even more shocking was Eleven being a walking-talking-breathing Lazarus Pit.

You know how medics run voltage to try “reviving” ur heart. I imagine ELs powers can do that. Run electricity to the heart. But max is missing her conscious. A body can’t fully work normally without that.

This was an incredible Season Finale. Episode 4 of this season was my favorite in the series but this one easily topped it. Even though Max survived with Elevens help, I truly believe she died in this season. I think she will be stuck in a coma and they will have to pull the plug in season 5 because Vecna took her consciousness and left a shell behind. That would be why her death worked and opened a door because Vecna was successful and Eleven was too late. It would also be why when El went into her mind space, it was empty.
When you cry I cry even harder. You must've been exhausted after watching this one.

I still think the upside down is a blank chaos, it does not have a good or bad it is just potential. I think once Henry executed his will it formed in his image…. El should not be fighting Henry she should take control of the chaos and bend it to her will.
I think Eleven revived Max’s body but she's brain dead and she’s still subconsciously trapped in the upside down in Vecna’s mind or somewhere else

No. She’s in a coma. There’s brain activity otherwise there would be no reason to keep her hooked up to machines as her brain is technically dead. In a coma, there’s just no activity, it’s neutral, no thoughts, like you’re on standby, that’s why El couldn’t find her, she wasn’t there.

i cried through the entirety of that episode. i cried FOUR TIMES for Eddie (twice when i *thought* he was gonna die, once when he *did* die, and when dustin was talking to his uncle).
i also wish Vecna would take over the overworld (and kill all of humanity, but that's just me); i think that would make SUCH a good ending to the show. how often do we get to see the supervillain fully realize their plans and cause a full-blown apocalypse?

My favourite reaction you've ever done- it was so funny when you were like "I need to calm down..." then two seconds later you were shouting from something unexpected. You did say last episode you would *probably* cry... My theory about Max, and S5, is about the Upside Down being stuck in the past. Why state that in S4 if there won't be some form of time travel, before Max was hurt and Hawkins is destroyed?

Am I the only one wondering how a bunch of bullets didn't kill the demogorgon but the sword did?
In my opinion this was the coolest season for sure probably the best but I have issues with them being scared to kill main characters they set up 3-5 main character deaths. Also writing for 11 seemed super weak she couldn’t do anything to Angela but destroys vecna. Mikes group was boring again this season Susie’s house was the coolest for them imo. Dustin’s group remains amazing all the actors are great and work extremely well together. Steve and Nancy building a connection again to mean nothing with Jonathan comes back is wild. There’s a ton of positives and a couple or even 1 main character death could’ve made it great for me but they just seem scared to kill people off
That being said the show is great amazing concept I just want the aspect of people dying to play a factor loved the reaction though just finished it was really genuine love the channel bro

As in, she didnt have powers at the start (therefore she couldtn do anything to angela) then she went to NINA to get her powers back, as in to regain the powers which she didnt have before, then she got her powers back (just so were clear, the powers which she did not have before) and then with these powers that she got back, she could then destroy vecna.
The California plot might've been the most dull but they weren't useless. Mike tracked down El, rescued her then ultimately says what she needs to hear to free herself from vecnas grip.
El was spending the season adjusting without her powers. Then she retrains and gets them back while doing things she's never been able to before. I mean, that helicopter scene wasn't an easy task. She knows her past and her guilt has left her knowing she's not the monster. She's going to keep getting stronger. The writing wasn't weak, it fit perfectly for her adapting

I think Vecna/Henry/One has to die in order for Max to fully come back to life. Since he absorbed her conscience or something like that when she died. Which is why she’s comatose even though El revived her.

Why when Joyce and Hopper were making out, the only thing I could think about was how horrible his breath should be. Been tortured and unclean for months, eating filth and no teeth brushing.
I can’t believe how god damn good it was. I agree with the character deaths. Although, Eddies was so so sad and brilliant. It’s close to perfect but I feel at least someone important in Russia should’ve died. Great watch!
I know it’s tragic but I like when shows can kill people off otherwise the characters just start to seem invincible. Max should have died. It was emotional and intense and it really would have showed how scary and powerful Vecna is and that no one is safe. This episode was my favorite out of all others though.
That Max scene had the same impact on me and then I got whiplash from whatever they are doing with her character next.
Eleven restarted her heart, but Max was already brain dead, I guess they will play it as if Max's consciousness is trapped in the Upside Down or inside Vecna.
If there was no brain activity Max would have to be on a ventilator so I think she's still alive but is stuck in a permanent sleep state. Maybe we'll see that she is having constant nightmares or something in the next season, like she is stuck in an endless trance.
That's the whole point we don't know what L can do I think she can bring her back!🤞

Probably been said already but since El tried to find Max in her mind and she wasn’t there I think she’s basically a vegetable now, like she is truly dead…but technically alive. I think in S5 she’ll be back, but as a vessel for someone/something and not truly as Max. I’m pretty sure Max is for real gone. If not it’d feel really cheap. I’m hoping we get some more character deaths next season tbh. I was going to be so upset if Steve died but let’s face it, it would have made sense. I’m gonna miss Eddie though :(

@@MovieFusion as much as I love ST I think I have to agree with you. We'll see what I think after S5 airs in 2025. I've heard there IS going to be a time jump to accommodate the younger kids obviously being older than their acting counterparts during those growth spurt years so now all the young cast members are at least 4-7 years older than their acting character counterparts and with all the delays between the last three seasons they had to come up with something so all the kids wou.dnt be playing 15 year old in their 20's by the time it releases.
I was very emotional for this finale. But now that I've calmed down, I have a few problems with it. The biggest one is Mike. In season 2, if Will so much as frowned for more than a fraction of a second, Mike would be by his side, comforting him. Now, Will is literally crying next to him and around him and he doesn't notice. Which is very ironic since he's called the heart of the party.
Two, Mike telling El that his life didn't really start until he met her. Not only did he know Dustin, Lucas, and Will before that, he seemed really happy to know them. Does that suddenly not matter to him? Also, the day he met her is the same day(or the day right after) Will literally went missing. Also, also, in season 2, Mike told Will that the best thing he'd ever done was talk to him that day on the swings. He thought the best thing he'd ever done was meeting Will. But now, he's saying his life hadn't started until very recently with El. So Mike is either lying to her, or this is another "we forgot Will's birthday" oversight by the Duffer bros. And both of those options don't sound good. Still a very emotional finale but some things just didn't sit right with me.
I was obsessing over their shields. If you pound some nails into a metal trash can lid, the moment you put pressure on the nails they would just push back out.
Mate Mike was so grateful to his friends but I feel like he was not genuinely happy. El was the start of his life.
