  • It's all come down to this....it's the final Splatfest of Splatoon 3. Past, Present, or Future....which do you fight for?
The Grand Festival is this game's sendoff, giving us a completely new locale to explore at The Crater, where it all began! A three day, Burning Man-esque event, we get all seven idols together as the Now or Never Seven with far and away the coolest Splatfest Nintendo's done yet.
This time around Tricolor was available from the start, but also cycled between all previous Tricolor stages before the final day granted us one final brand new Tricolor stage at this new venue.
Far and away the biggest celebration of the series yet...like Splatoon 3 on the whole I'm left with mixed feelings. Tricolors are a weird mode that could have been more fun than they were, and having three teams leads to a lot of issues most of the time. The stages in this game are a step below what we've seen previously, and the online...something is off, with WAY more disconnections than I ever saw in the first two games combined. And yet, Splatoon 3 had a lot of heart and delivered on some fun stuff. A great single player campaign and rougelite DLC, fantastic presentation and some really cool new weapons. I played a lot of this game over the last two years and I think I've gotten my fill more or less...I wish things went a bit differently here...and it sucks to have lost the final fest in dead last (never won a single final fest actually) but it was fun to say goodbye to this game and give it one last ride.
I might record more Splatoon 3 in the event of a surprise update down the line, or if/when they rerun other Splatfests just to be thorough, but this is basically the end of my Splatoon 3 coverage. See you in the next game....Splatoon 1 Deluxe on Switch 2!
