Dude your videos are awesome! If feels like i shot back in time in the 80s and 90s with your videos. A lot of great memories you bring up through goodwill!
If you got the Satriani cd for silver surfer, you’ll be disappointed as it has zero to do with him other than the cover. But for 80s face melting guitar licks? It’s a win!
The Baby-Sitters Club videos are wonderfully cheesy and nostalgia to watch. Recorded the one you showed onto DVD back when my library still had VHS tapes. :)
The church I went to in my high school years (early 80s) had one of those cassette duplicating machines. We recorded the sermon onto a cassette tape and then slapped it in the duplicator to make a bunch of copies at a time.
I love that yo go through the games and CDs so slow, so that everybody can see, what they offer. This is so interssting, because here in Germany, we don't have thrift stores like this.
I bought a PSone complete for $4, without LCD screen. I already had a clear blue controller for it. All it needed was to be cleaned with Qtips and rubbing alcohol. Best part was that it was hidden in the electronic section.
I'm diggin these videos. Every time I go to a Goodwill, I always look through their albums, cd's, and dvd selections. I always find some good stuff. One of my best finds was Queen Sheer Heart Attack on vinyl....for .50 cents!!! An original pressing from when it came out in 1974...still sounds amazing today!!!
Joe Satriani surfing with the alien is a great album. It's fantastic guitar playing. No lyrics! I had the cassette. Now I have that album on vinyl, CDs are cool too I like both. It's cool you bought that cd just based on the art work. You will be surprised it Rocks, if you're into that.
I noticed that too, but that Goodwill was horrible about having cases with no discs so I'd be shocked if the disc was actually in it and if it was I'm sure it was scratched to hell.
I know I am late to the party (and I am not sure anyone cares), but I can recognize a few of the people in that picture- three NASCAR drivers. Second from right is Bobby Hillin, Jr. The guy in the red hat is Bobby Allison (who won the 1983 NASCAR Winston Cup Championship). Second from left is the legendary Dick Trickle. I am thinking that the other guy next to Bobby Allison is Mickey Stavola, who owned the racing team that Allison, Hillin, and Trickle drove for.
I love how organized that Goodwill is and its VHS tape selection. Thrift stores usually carry unorganized piles of filthy "Pretty Woman" videocassettes or some other mass-produced tape.
13:16 Was surprised to see that "Raiders" cassette has Kid Creole and the Coconuts on it. They're one of my favorite obscure bands. They're a wonderful thing, baaabaaaay!
WCW vs the world is a good find. It was AKI corp's 1st WCW game before refining their winning formula when they went on and did the WCW vs NWO and later on WWF games on n64.
There’s a Buzz Lightyear in the background at 1:05 😂 if you see them at goodwill, I’ll seriously buy them from you. No joke. Our goodwills in Oklahoma suck
Watching this made me a little sad. Since Lockdown started in the UK our charity stores have been closed and this video reminded me how much I used to enjoy trawling through them for bargains. It is also a reminder of how much the income for charities has been hit by the pandemic. :(
I think me and my friend were at the exact same Goodwill with that Play Station. Was the second one you visited in Queen Creek? Me and him split the price on a Play Station that didn't have the power cord and it was in a glass case. We ended up finding a cord that matched it in the electronic cords section of the store.
I did a quick Ebay search for those Disney black diamond VHS tapes - There are listings asking over $8,000 for some of the titles you saw at goodwill! Crazy.
You are so lucky, all the Goodwill's in my area are always picked over when it comes to video game stuff. I have never understood how since I live in a pretty rural area, but it IS a big military area so maybe that has something to do with it.
skeletank mcgraw the goodwill near me doesnt have anything really. Well compared to the clothes they have theres nothing. The clothes eclipse everything else
VAGRANT STORY WHAT!? Nice! That Silver Surfer is a reprint, but still awesome. That Hulk 116 was a great find! Copies in good condition are going for around $35. I would have blown my wad on those vintage comics.
The picture had NASCAR drivers in it. Definitely saw Bobby Allison and Bobby Hillin Jr. Looked like Dick Trickle was also in there. Not sure about the other people in the picture.
nice finds! So accustomed to seeing failing stores in your vids this was a nice change of pace lol. I might actually have a spare official cover art to vagrant story for the double disc jewel case. Let me know if you're interested!
OMG Our family had that National Geographic map set in the yellow box. I remembered it as soon as you pulled out some of the maps. I wonder what happened to them. Knowing my 'kid self', I probably wrecked them. And Dragon Warrior II on NES is a great game, so awesome you got it. I got my copy in a bundle with Dragon Warrior III and IV on ebay before the prices got insane.
14:43 If that Namco Museum is the one I think it is, it has a ton of really great remakes of classic arcades on it, dubbed the "Arrangement" series. I'm not sure what the price was, but anything below $10 would have been a steal imo.
+Louden Noxious the minute I saw it I started hearing the Heathcliff theme song in my head. I love watching it too when I was a kid. I think I used to watch it on Nickelodeon. Thanks for watching!
Same here. I was addicted to that show. They revived it on a streaming channel called Pluto TV a few months ago so I got to get reaquainted with it. I didn't forget an episode. LOL Keep up the great vids.
I saw the photocopied game manual and had an instant flashback to writing cheat codes in a rental game manual for the next person.... Wish I could remember what game hah!
Those tape duplicators actually aren't very good quality. They dub at a high speed and don't really take noise and audio quality into account. They were made more for churches and stuff. I guess it doesn't matter if you're running a lo-fi music label though. Everybody who I've known that ran a cassette label just used a concatenation of higher quality dual tape decks. You can find them at thrift stores for cheap prices and it's a much safer bet for accurate dubs.
The tape dubbing system looks like the kind that many churches used to record sermons them dub them to multiple copies and either sell them or provide them to shut-ins. Most tech savy churches now use podcasts instead.
Man, I wish the goodwill near me had this kinda stuff, I rarely ever see ANY video games there. You sure lucked out on that Vagrant story. I paid almost 30.00 to get a copy of it last year.
Some the combo tape/receiver audio systems from the 70s and 80s look nice but they're generally of middling quality at best. How much were the Patlabor DVD sets at 6:47 going for?
New York/New England Goodwill has been a miss lately, but at least I find good stuff still (got a couple tape decks, an Aiwa and a Teac, recently)... mainly go there for cassettes, CDs and vinyls (sometimes DVDs and weird electronic/computer stuff) I always look in the bins for various computer and game cables (hoping I find a GameCube Component cable or maybe a SCSI-USB cable :P)
I don’t know why I asked about if you got that PlayStation 2 nba street game is because I don’t know if you are anything like renebean or tatted collector where you buy games for your collection and some for resell or trade to recoup what you spend or get something you want cheaper!
Great video as usual I love school house rock I have the complete series of it on dvd with the exception on earth but you can buy it separately I al have the complete series. Heathcliff on dvd which I recommend you buy at a store when I. Got that set it was cheap
Hey I noticed that when you picked up the shonen jump magazine you placed it on top of a copy of nba street volume 2 for the PlayStation 2 did you pick it up because it is about a $10-$12 game?
Man for a sec I thought you'd gotten a bum deal 'cause Vagrant Story had multiple discs. Turns out that it came in one of the multi-disc cases, but the game itself is just the one.
Who the hell got rid of their copy of "Surfing With The Alien"? That album redefined instrumental guitar rock. You're supposed to get rid of stuff you'd be embarrassed to have now, like Vinnie Vincent's Invasion. Not anything by Satriani, and especially not Surfing.
Oooo I saw a pinball at the end I am more interested in that then the pick ups. xD If you look at my videos/streams you can see why. :) I repair pins it is my passion to bring long dead pins back to life again! :)
I go to savers in the rich neighborhood. It's amazing how much stuff I can get with tags still on it. Rich people get rid of some nice stuff.
Your Goodwill shops are awesome, seem pretty organized and quite a few games and consoles from what I'm seeing :D
+MrMario2011 I built a good deal of my retro gaming collection from awesome Goodwill finds. Thanks for watching!
Dude your videos are awesome! If feels like i shot back in time in the 80s and 90s with your videos. A lot of great memories you bring up through goodwill!

The Baby-Sitters Club videos are wonderfully cheesy and nostalgia to watch. Recorded the one you showed onto DVD back when my library still had VHS tapes. :)
I still have the whole book collection, too!! Lol! And the 'Sweet Valley High' series.
I had that fisher-price telephone!!! I LOVED that telephone! ^_^
The church I went to in my high school years (early 80s) had one of those cassette duplicating machines. We recorded the sermon onto a cassette tape and then slapped it in the duplicator to make a bunch of copies at a time.

Thrift stores are great for finding cool video games. I always look for PlayStation games!!

Diggin' the jazz, in the background.
Perfect for your videos.
The animated Hobbit is way better than Peter Jackson's
Joe Satriani surfing with the alien is a great album. It's fantastic guitar playing. No lyrics! I had the cassette. Now I have that album on vinyl, CDs are cool too I like both. It's cool you bought that cd just based on the art work. You will be surprised it Rocks, if you're into that.
I am playing Diablo 2 with this episode in the background when you found a copy of D2! good games never die.
i know this is an old video, but at 3:30 you passed over a stained cd that goes for anywhere between $50-$100 Happy hunting
I noticed that too, but that Goodwill was horrible about having cases with no discs so I'd be shocked if the disc was actually in it and if it was I'm sure it was scratched to hell.
You always find some cool stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Rosemary Dunn thanks for watching!
You have mastered the drift in the thrift ,which my friend, is a gift!
I know I am late to the party (and I am not sure anyone cares), but I can recognize a few of the people in that picture- three NASCAR drivers. I know our good will used to be an old Walmart
Reminds me of the fun my brothers and I used to have going through our local thrift store every Saturday morning.
Should've picked up that mouse on the motorcycle VHS. A classic
I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting it. I do have a small the VHS collection, but I'm trying to keep it small.
wait is this an LGR stream? lol
I had a bit of a chuckle seeing an album on cassette from The Embers that I already have all the way out in Arizona......
Was a big fan of The Hobbit...was always excited when it came on tv.
Goodwill is awesome for hunting for old stuff. I even sometimes look for pencil and paper game manuals and find a lot of stuff there.
I always like these types of videos! Thanks Mr. Erik!
Dude that vagrant story pickup was sick. It goes for 40+ loose today.
13:16 Was surprised to see that "Raiders" cassette has Kid Creole and the Coconuts on it. They're one of my favorite obscure bands.
They're a wonderful thing, baaabaaaay!
That Vagrant Story disc was such a bargain. The disc alone goes for about 50 bucks now
WCW vs the world is a good find. It was AKI corp's 1st WCW game before refining their winning formula when they went on and did the WCW vs NWO and later on WWF games on n64.

I got a need
A need for Thrifting
BEST MAP SET EVER!!
It's crazy to see numerous locations that you've been too on a UA-cam video
I think me and my friend were at the exact same Goodwill with that Play Station. Was the second one you visited in Queen Creek? Me and him split the price on a Play Station that didn't have the power cord and it was in a glass case. We ended up finding a cord that matched it in the electronic cords section of the store.

nice work a+Retail Archaeology
We had that Map Set when I was a kid. I think it is still in a closet at my parents house. I may have to snag it the next time I visit!
Joe Satriani surfing with the alien awesome guitar instrumental album!
You are so lucky, all the Goodwill's in my area are always picked over when it comes to video game stuff. I have never understood how since I live in a pretty rural area, but it IS a big military area so maybe that has something to do with it.

Firevine yep, I'm assuming a collector died and clueless relatives dropped them off.
At 3:28 is Staind - Tormented it is anywhere from $50 - $100 cd
We had one of those receiver things int he house, and also a VHS to VHS copy deck.... My dad was weird.
don't watch the Hobbit!!!! you will have "♬The Greatest Adventure♬" stuck in your head for life!! I watched it when I was 12 and i'm still humming it,
OMG Our family had that National Geographic map set in the yellow box.
CRT Sony tv's my grandma use to have one in her bedroom
Those Patlabor DVD collections are pretty fuckin' sweet! I'd have gotten them.
14:43 If that Namco Museum is the one I think it is, it has a ton of really great remakes of classic arcades on it, dubbed the "Arrangement" series. I'm not sure what the price was, but anything below $10 would have been a steal imo.
High prices at Goodwill.
"There's Naruto. That's--that's not really my thing though..." Eric laughed nervously in front of his 70 volumes of Naruto
I may or may not have that Twilight Scene it..... and I beat everyone ever time I ever play it.... Damn my twilight phase...
You found Heathcliff? Thats awesome loved that show so much. And you are right about Panasonic electronics like their stuff.
This one is a lot bigger and a lot nicer then mine. They don’t have a single still boxed toys.
I love the thrift store videos. Also I love the beard!
Joe satriani and Sonic!!! Good combo
I saw the photocopied game manual and had an instant flashback to writing cheat codes in a rental game manual for the next person.... Wish I could remember what game hah!
I don't know if you've played the other WCW games on the PS1, but WCW vs the World is probably the best or 2nd best WCW game on PS1.
dude! that tape duplicator!
All you need to get started on a diy record label for lofi mall jams.
Dang all those mavel comic books where a great find
They sell old games at my local Goodwill. Most games aren't good but I bought Crash Bandicoot warped for 50¢!
LEGO Universe at 14:14, would have picked that up in an instant. Played the heck out of that game until is closed :(
That Zelda had been at McQueen and Warner for 3 months lol
Some the combo tape/receiver audio systems from the 70s and 80s look nice but they're generally of middling quality at best.
How much were the Patlabor DVD sets at 6:47 going for?
love the good will
All the old ps2 and Xbox games are 🔥
New York/New England Goodwill has been a miss lately, but at least I find good stuff still (got a couple tape decks, an Aiwa and a Teac, recently)... mainly go there for cassettes, CDs and vinyls (sometimes DVDs and weird electronic/computer stuff)

8:43 Deer Avenger 4!
4:32 HEY I HAVE THAT
13:58 um sims 4 on the pc was there, that would’ve been a good pick up if it was fairly cheap...
I usually sit on the floor when sourcing at Salvos.
I don’t know why I asked about if you got that PlayStation 2 nba street game is because I don’t know if you are anything like renebean or tatted collector where you buy games for your collection and some for resell or trade to recoup what you spend or get something you want cheaper!
awesome video new to the channel but this is cooool :-D
Who's James Harden? This dude is for real The Beard.
Your retail videos are very interesting and relaxing to watch. Do you play all the games you buy or simply collect them?
Great video as usual I love school house rock I have the complete series of it on dvd with the exception on earth but you can buy it separately I al have the complete series. Heathcliff on dvd which I recommend you buy at a store when I. Got that set it was cheap
Thanks for the ❤️man
Gah I want that Sony CRT as well. My grandfather had this 1998 Sony Trinitron TV which I wanted so much but my parents never let me keep it.
Serious LGR vibes here lol!
I found Vegas Stakes for SNES at a local Goodwill for $3.99
Hey I noticed that when you picked up the shonen jump magazine you placed it on top of a copy of nba street volume 2 for the PlayStation 2 did you pick it up because it is about a $10-$12 game?

heavy gear. that is a great game. try the miniature board game it is based off of.
My logic in seeing SO MANY sports video games in thrift stores: they must be garbage, since they seem like the first ones to get donated
goodwill is a good store
That Panasonic Cassette player is pretty thick. I have a Sony Walkman which is thinner.
Davin Peterson it might be so thick because it's also a recorder and has a built-in speaker.
Warcraft 3!!!! You passed it up! I can't believe you!!!! Ppl will buy that shit. I would!!!!
Oooo I saw a pinball at the end I am more interested in that then the pick ups. xD
If you look at my videos/streams you can see why. :)
I repair pins it is my passion to bring long dead pins back to life again! :)
😂 *They marked a 70's reprint of the Silver Surfer origin issue up to $14.99, and you bought it omg* 😂
It was marked 4.99, it was half off day so I got it for half that, and I had a 20% off coupon for my whole purchase.
How things become invaluable in sometime when they are valuable in other time.
I knew you seemed pretty based, a fellow Bleach fan I see. Excited for the new season?
Great video!
Any idea how much that Panasonic receiver was? Those old style electronics are something I love as well.
+Douglas Byram It was 29.99
