Soho Amano is the man who Kisei title was named after. He never
won the Meijin title because he wasn't born into one of 3 major
Shogi families, but he was so strong that he could beat then Meijin
along with other high-ranked players, so they decide to create the
special title just for him.
Amano deserved 13 Dan according to Kozo Masuda, and It's been said
that he could have even become A rank player today.

Back in the day, I had a shogi-board, pieces and every available French- or English-language book on the game that I could find. What I could never find was another player :-(

@@debusho_shogi_dojo I did find a Shogi computer program, but it was downloaded rather than being on a disk so, when the company closed and my computer died I no longer had it.
