It’s because the egg industry is awful as well. Example being how egg producers will toss baby male chicks into meat grinders because they’re “useless”. It’s also because by consuming eggs you’re still commodifying a living creature and the chickens in the egg industry have been genetically altered to lay as many eggs as possible which isn’t beneficial to their health. Female chickens will naturally eat their unfertilized eggs to recoup the nutrients lost from laying the egg which we are then taking from them. Once they’ve served their purpose they are slaughtered. There’s no ethical way to treat another living creature as an object. Also who wants to eat chicken period?

More deaths occur due to animal agriculture as well due to the combined deaths of the animals themselves paired with crops that are grown for animals to eat.
