hello, i have a question, I have the same UPS like in the video, the green and red light are flashing alternately, what does it mean? Green light = On line / Red light = Battery replace. Thanks in advance.
Hi When the 3 light colors lights in intervals during setup means the sensitivity of backup power so when the electricity fluctuations. ..it's how sensitive u want it to be how fast is it responds But in normal mode it means it can't support the power equipment plugged into ups which means the battery is weak need to be replaced ... that is in case ur not trying to backup an LCD 60 Inch.😉😉😉

@@TheAdamaty It's exactly the same UPS that you have shown in your video. It had two 12v batteries connected in series. I've forgotten whether it was 7AH or 9AH.
Hi There are 2 types models of the ups one with one battery and the other one with 2 batteries if ur had one battery you must exchange it with one battery with the same volt and amp and if it had 2 you exchange it with 2 batteries with same volt and amp that u had on the original ups battery.... in case u did that then most probably the battery u bought is fault old damaged one .... old stock even if u bought it new ... cause if it beeps continuously means over load or battery fault .... so exchange it with another new one And if the case if want to add an extra battery to increase the backup time this will not work cause its programmed for one battery with the specific volt and amp so in case u add another one it reads that as an overload Wrong volt and amp which I don't advice u to do Hope this helps Regards
I bought a UPS yesterday and it's APC model BX1100LI. I'm not gonna open it because its' brand new but around 5 years from now when the battery wear out your video will be a big help. The one I bought the front looks identical to yours but on the back two of six outlets are the same as yours but the other four are universal outlets and it doesn't have a fan. According to manual it has a 12 V 9 ah battery and didn't specify how many so when I googled it, it only has one battery instead of two like yours. Which means during power outage the battery drains faster than yours.
Hi bro nice info you got there ...UPS are trying to cut down cost to put one battery... but if urs drains out quicker than mine so this means its does not give you a sufficient amount of time if you have a Nice CPU geared with decent VGA cards and power supply that exceeds 1500 watt plus its monitor .... you might consider upgrading it with 2 batteries when they wear out ....one more thing the original battery wont last 5 years ...I think 3 years MAX Cheers Buddy
When the original battery wears out I might gonna replace them with two batteries to increase the capacity but I have to connect them in parallel to maintain the 12 volts supply because connecting in series means they will output in 24 volts damaging the board. Yours is designed to run at 24 volts that's why the batteries are in series. The advantage of 24 volts model is they only draw half the amps compared to 12 volts model during battery mode of the same load wattage. So during power outage they lasts longer before the batteries runs low.
I bought a 2nd battery and connected them in parallel to the original battery and here's what I discovered when run under battery mode by disconnecting it from power outlet. Before I added a second battery the UPS can power the PS4 Pro under battery mode for 8 minutes before it beeps rapidly because the battery is running low (PS4 Pro only playing Uncharted 4 because the TV is connected to another UPS). But when I added a second battery in parallel it runs for 26 minutes before it beeps rapidly because the batteries are running low. However, the UPS became very hot that the top plastic casing where the heat sink is melted. My UPS is not designed to run that long for a high load like the PS4 Pro. I removed the second battery afterwards to prevent overheating when an actual power outage happens. Your model is designed to operate at 24 volts that's why they have two batteries in series and the amp load of batteries are half compared to 12 volts model of the same load wattage so it can run the PS4 Pro longer without overheating. For people like me who love modding electronics I want to give them a heads up that if their UPS only has one battery do not add a second battery in attempt to extend run time during power outage because they are not design to run that long for a heavy load like the PS4 Pro. I learned it the hard way. If you want to play games for longer period of time during power outage buy a UPS with larger capacity rather than modding smaller UPS by adding batteries unless your total load wattage is less than 25% of UPS capacity to make sure the UPS doesn't overheat.
Hi bro Great info u supplied us here one thing you connected the the ps4 with good quality cable cause if the cable was not good quality the ups will over heat and was the ps4 running 4k output another thing was the battery u added the same exactly as the one inside cause they suppose to be identical same type same brand same amp cause if they are not the same they will sure overheat Keep me posted bro Kind regards

Did you manage to do it? i have the same problem too.
@@merinerkan1079 I took it to the store and they fixed it there. A cable had been pulled from the board as I opened the box. So you better check that all cables are connected
Where can I buy replacement batteries for this? And what are the types that is complatible?

Thank you! This video was very helpful.
hello, i have a question, I have the same UPS like in the video, the green and red light are flashing alternately, what does it mean? Green light = On line / Red light = Battery replace. Thanks in advance.
Hi
When the 3 light colors lights in intervals during setup means the sensitivity of backup power so when the electricity fluctuations. ..it's how sensitive u want it to be how fast is it responds
But in normal mode it means it can't support the power equipment plugged into ups which means the battery is weak need to be replaced ... that is in case ur not trying to backup an LCD 60 Inch.😉😉😉
You're simply awesome!
Thanks buddy

Very helpful guide... Thank you.. i've replaced 2x 12v 7ah batteries on my bx1400u.. batteries are detected on powerchute but i can't start a self-test from software..
Thank you soo much really appreciate it .... what type brand of battery did u install
Regards
2x Yuasa 12v 7ah
didn't try this brand before
Test worked.. i don't know why it failed after replace, but the next day it worked..
so the the last state its working now
maybe cause the batteries you bought was a bit old production date and took some time to start charging.
Nice video, it helped me a lot! Well done!!
Glad to hear that!
how many battery cartridge does APC BX1100LI-MS has?
Hi, great video. I used to replace my batteries but after a power shutdown the UPS didn't work. Do you know if I have to activate something after replacing the batteries? They're brand new. Thanks
Hi
What is the brand of batteries u got and what is the voltage and amp and also is ur ups with a single or dual battery
Regards
@@TheAdamaty Hi, it's a single battery. The original battery was 12v 7.5 Ah, but I only got a 12v 7 Ah at the store, and I put it in. That was wrong?
Hi
Half amp wonf make the difference... try to exchange the fuse at the back of the usp ... in case of the fuse is ok ... then u got a faulty battery... maybe it's old stock damaged one

Hello, thanks for the video! It Helps a lot! One question, you bought the replacement directly on APC or it's possible find this two batteries on a local store?
Question I own an APC Back-UPS Pro 1100 (BP1100). I just replaced the battery but after assembling the unit back I turned it on, the green LED turns on first blinks 36 times then goes off, at the same time I get a solid amber LED, beeping 4 times (5 times with a 30 secs interval). What can I do???
Hi
The battery u replaced is not good or different lower amp
Regards
@@TheAdamaty Lower AH will only affect runtime on battery - could be a charging or monitoring issue. OR you have used a 6V battery instead of a 12V one.
Hi chris
I prefer 12V 7.2 AMP
Worked great we me
Regards
What happen if you use 2 12v 9ah batteries?
It looks like you're using 2 x 6V batteries in series to give the required 12V... Is there any benefit to doing this?
Hi
This was the original setup of the ups two batteries connected in series there are other ups which comes with one battery
@@TheAdamaty my BX1100LI has a single generic 12V 9Ah battery (CSB HR1234W) that had the APC label stuck on the side... I also have a BX650LI UPS which has a generic 12V 7Ah battery without the APC label. Not User Serviceable - hahahahaha - my guess they are just using whatever batteries they can source at any given time...
BTW , many thanks for uploading the video! I don't think I could have worked out how to get inside the box without it. I already got my battery out and I'm now just waiting for the replacement to arrive...
Cheers!
Hi@@jonintpe
Thanks to u ... really appreciate it
U are right about the batteries they come in original with different brands and also the new similar model in shape comes with one battery only where the backup time for the ups is less in time when electricity is out ... they are trying to cut down cost I think :))))
Cheers bro 😆😆👌👍👍

I do have BX1100 LI and the battery isnt working anymore, manual says it is not replaceable but can you really replace it?
Also, im seeing 12v/9a here in our place but the size isnt the same, is it okay to replace a different size? Pls help
Hi
No the battery your mentioning will not work right ... the battery you should search for is 12 V 7.2 AH
and must be the same size so u can fit it inside the UPS
And about if it's replaceable .... yes it is 100% replaceable 😆

Hi
One question to give u accurate info
Does ur ups have single or dual batteries
@@TheAdamaty It's exactly the same UPS that you have shown in your video. It had two 12v batteries connected in series. I've forgotten whether it was 7AH or 9AH.

Hello. What battery you use to APC Bx1400 becuase my battery was broken and need to change it but on apc web you have tons like same q,q
Hi. Hi have APC BX1100LI-MS. But why I can put 1 battery only? If I put 2 it will beep non stop. Kindly advice.
Hi
There are 2 types models of the ups one with one battery and the other one with 2 batteries if ur had one battery you must exchange it with one battery with the same volt and amp and if it had 2 you exchange it with 2 batteries with same volt and amp that u had on the original ups battery.... in case u did that then most probably the battery u bought is fault old damaged one .... old stock even if u bought it new ... cause if it beeps continuously means over load or battery fault .... so exchange it with another new one
And if the case if want to add an extra battery to increase the backup time this will not work cause its programmed for one battery with the specific volt and amp so in case u add another one it reads that as an overload
Wrong volt and amp which I don't advice u to do
Hope this helps

Hi

I bought a UPS yesterday and it's APC model BX1100LI. I'm not gonna open it because its' brand new but around 5 years from now when the battery wear out your video will be a big help. The one I bought the front looks identical to yours but on the back two of six outlets are the same as yours but the other four are universal outlets and it doesn't have a fan. According to manual it has a 12 V 9 ah battery and didn't specify how many so when I googled it, it only has one battery instead of two like yours. Which means during power outage the battery drains faster than yours.
Hi bro
nice info you got there ...UPS are trying to cut down cost to put one battery... but if urs drains out quicker than mine so this means its does not give you a sufficient amount of time if you have a Nice CPU geared with decent VGA cards and power supply that exceeds 1500 watt plus its monitor .... you might consider upgrading it with 2 batteries when they wear out ....one more thing the original battery wont last 5 years ...I think 3 years MAX
Cheers Buddy
When the original battery wears out I might gonna replace them with two batteries to increase the capacity but I have to connect them in parallel to maintain the 12 volts supply because connecting in series means they will output in 24 volts damaging the board. Yours is designed to run at 24 volts that's why the batteries are in series. The advantage of 24 volts model is they only draw half the amps compared to 12 volts model during battery mode of the same load wattage. So during power outage they lasts longer before the batteries runs low.
Ya exactly .... your right
Kind regards.👍
Hi bro
Great info u supplied us here one thing you connected the the ps4 with good quality cable cause if the cable was not good quality the ups will over heat and was the ps4 running 4k output another thing was the battery u added the same exactly as the one inside cause they suppose to be identical same type same brand same amp cause if they are not the same they will sure overheat
Keep me posted bro
