Last week I finished all the maze runners and i watched divergent yesterday,gonna binge watch the 2 & 3 today,…and planning to start hunger games after that…so i guess i’m pretty much gonna experience the live they had 7yrs back 😁…but they’re so amazing🤧
Check out Equilibrium if you want an interesting one. It's an older film from 2002, but a good one. It centres around a dystopian society (Libria) that forces its citizens to drug themselves to eliminate most of their emotions, with the State being like the Communist 1984 regime centred around a figure named Father. It sends a special task force to eliminate anyone who goes off the drugs and tries to rebel. When of their most lethal members, Preston, goes off the drugs accidentally, he begins to see what his society has become. What follows is him trying to seek out the Underground while hiding his ability to feel.

David sees Chicago as some kind of experiment. Even though people are suffering and making sacrifices, he doesn't do anything to help. David is like a God who just watches and waits for judgment day, not lifting a finger to help people in places like Syria, Palestine, or anywhere else in the world where lives are in danger.

These movies must be remade. The books were phenomenal and deserve a better story on the big screen.
Note to self: don't look through the comments on trailers/clips of movies adapting books; they are full of readers that can't handle even the slightest changes, yet alone the big ones. I'm glad to say I'm not one of those readers who whine so much. I loved the books and I love the movies. I see them as two different things - I'm not expecting them to both be the same unlike some people.
yeah me too! Like those people are soo annoying. this is based on a book. not "a copy" from a book. based on a book means they take the concept, characters, and storyline and make them into a 2hours movie. not everything is going to be exact same thing as the book.

Everyone needs to stop hating on the divergent series. For the record I've read all of the hunger games books (including additional books) I have also done a large project on the series and a movie review presentation on the series. I've read all of the maze runner books as well and yes I have read all of the divergent series including four. PLEASE STOP SAYING THEY ARE ALL THE SAME! It may be an opinion of yours but the only reason they seem similar is because all three of them are sci-fi/adventure!!!!

Honestly after watching the scorch trials again I agree with you lot, I so badly wanted to love it because I fell in love with the franchise and I love dylan O'brien as an actor but there was too much action and it was dissapointing. It's still different from Hunger games and Divergent but the maze runner was a lot better. I just hope they do the death cure justice.

I really don't get why people hate these films when their brilliant and so much hard work goes into making them. People who complain about it not completely following the books... So I see it as having two versions of a story I love and if it did completely follow the book there would be no mystery when watching the film. Their by far better films than the hunger games and the maze runner. Plus Tris is the most likeable strong female lead and she's more relatable.
Agree so much I hated maze runner and the hunger games it was just kids getting their throat slit there was no intellect behind it and I hated Katniss. Tris went through way more sad shit than Katniss.

Right wtf, you'd think I would know better by now. Trailers these days show *way too much* plot/story. Gotta love those 2-3 minute trailers that reveal every good scene and important event. I don't know what's worse, giving too much away or the few trailers that have scenes that never make it into the movie. That was more prevalent in the past though, I don't notice it as much these days.

i want to know what happens in ascendant as it’s own story. the movies are better than the book in their own way, whether it be the more ambiguous characters or the ability to get lessons across without having an overbearing amount of fan fiction type of romance. it’s so real it really gets the points of the book across almost better than the book. the director and everyone else working on this series are incredible.
Seems like you were one of the few who liked where the films were going. Even the actors didn't seem on board with where the story was going which according to them appeared to be nowhere.

I've read the books and it's like Divergent is the best, Insurgent is okay and Allegiant is the worst of them. I think they are going for that for the films, so nothing really changed.
So far the movies have fixed everything wrong in the trainwreck that is the last two books. I am SO excited for this!
Although it's different from the book, I think that this movie will be great. Divergent was the only one that was actually somewhat similar to the book, but insurgent and allegiant I think will be very different. I think the director had a specific intention to keep the movie more exiting, I guess, in insurgent. By creating the message inside the box and Tris going through the "real but not real" stimulations to get the message, I think I gives more of an excitement than Tris being scanned in the brain and all that for Jeanine Matthews. *IN MY OPINION* I personally, think that Tris being delivered to her death in the movie is better than in the book version. But the rest in the book I like better than the movie. Allegiant I think will be perhaps somewhat similar to the difference in insurgent. Meaning that I think they will have the same differential rate from the movie and the book. Either way, I would agree that all the movies are great and awesome and so are the books.
