Seriously the ONLY thing that kept me sane and happy during lockdown was watching this treat. As I slowly binge watched the series I laughed hard and I cried too. Amazing writing and cast. They are all very beautiful and special to me. I def see my parents in Umma and Appa which makes me very, very happy.
As a Canadian I always found Canadian shows so boring and dull I never would have expected a Canadian show to blow me away as this has. One of the best Tv shows I have ever watched. The cast is amazing just so sad it wont continue honestly this in my mind is just as good as FRIENDS if not better. Paul is best Appa ever.
First Schitt’s Creek then Kim’s Convenience. The CBC is back! Check out Wayne and Schuster on You Tube for zany brilliance. They both went to my high school in Toronto Harbord Collegiate and I met them both at separate reunions.
No comparison to Friends. Friends was unwatchable- a bunch of petty people. Annoying onscreen and off. Petty and full of themselves, with minimal talent but lots of money and publicity. Kim’s was funny, touching, heartfelt. When they were petty, they felt it. Some much love. So much talent and yet humility and grace.
I visited Toronto with my girlfriend in a car then got lost at night, when we saw a Korean church right outside - it really calmed our nerves to read Korean at a random place in a foreign country. The girlfriend, who is now my wife, went crazy when she realized that church was the Kim's church :D. Thank you so much for the show, and I can tell you that many who never left Korea can also relate to it.. Appa's English is my dad's English, too!
I’m not even Korean or an immigrant for that matter. I live in India, yet I relate to it.. besides Shannonigans is so fun to watch, i was always upto my eyes wanting to see more of them.
They represented Toronto so well. So many shows and movies are filmed in Toronto but they just use our scenery and make it American. To see real Toronto and it’s diversity represented with such great plots, characters and themes. Was truly a masterpiece & original
I’ve accepted and let go! I just had a breakup which went down the same abrupt road.. that was hard & this came right after for me.. so it was much easier to swallow.. and I learned & dealt with the grief well. Hard lessons, good journey!

I'm an American black woman, and this show is in my top 5 shows. And it's not easy to get into my favorites list. I was disappointed when I heard it was ending, but I am so grateful that my eyes have been opened to more than the normal American sitcom. To Kims🍺🥂
I don’t care if it’s finished, I still binge watch Kim’s convenience every week on Netflix. This show got me hooked. It’s funny, entertaining and educative (on Korean culture). Reminds me of my Korean friends I worked with in Oman.
One of the coolest things I've learned that I might not have if Kim's Convenience hadn't been cancelled (because I'm the last person to know anything about celebrities, but I watched a video about it's cancellation) is that Paul Sun-Hyung is the most lovely person ever. What he had to say was so thoughtful, inspiring, and beautiful despite everything.
Not just for Asian Canadians, a city so diverse like Toronto full of 2nd generations born to first-gen immigrants, this show really had us ALL feeling represented. We can all relate to this. So sad it ended.
Felt this! Born and raised in Toronto and this show touched my heart deeply. So much is filmed in Toronto but our city is just used for scenery than Americanized. Nice to finally have something that accurately represents our city: our crazy, diverse, sometimes scary but beautiful city. 😢
This show truly means so much to me as an Asian Canadian, shame it’s ending but so very happy we had the PERFECT CASt from appa to mrs lee everyone did such an amazing job no matter how big or small the role was. I really wish the writer stayed and made this last a little long. With Kim’s and Schitts Creek ending I really miss this short lived golden era of Canadian sitcom, WE WANT MORE!!
Loved this show. Growing up in Queens NY in the 80's and 90's, this show was very relatable. I had an Asian owned convenience store within walking distance of my home. I frequented it often. We became friends. The son was my age and we went to the same school in the same class. We shared our love of Kung Fu theater that would come on Tv every Saturday afternoon. This store was part of my culture and fond memories. I'll admit, I cried at the end of this show. Really enjoyed it. Loved all the characters. Even though I didnt agree with a few of the social commentaries, it's a part of life and didnt stop me from loving the characters.
This show brought me so much joy to much during the pandemic when everyone was going insane . I binged watched it all year . I’m sad that it’s cancelled.
I recently just clicked on a random Netflix show and it happened to be Kim’s convenience and I absolutely fell in love with the show, can’t stop watching it!
Was such a clean, wholesome, make you feel good about the world show. We need more of that in the world today. Sorry to see it go. Someone please pick it back up
As a half-korean, raised in Korea for a good amount of time, I started to watch Kim's convenience to see the life of people in the Korean diaspora, and I do say that it was really fun looking at the Korean elements in the series: food, names, and even the personality of the characters. Although the family lives in Canada and lived there for a long time, the characters really reflected the people thaf I grew up with in Korea: the man who says "all right all right" when other people try to park the car like Mr. Kim, the polite yet passive-agressiveness when people at church meet the ones they're not that close to, and even the strict yet caring parents hiding their own problems and issue by saying that everything is ok and not having to worry about things. It really showed me that wherever Koreans would go, we also bring our own culture with us. Anyways, this was what I got from the tv show and would like to listen to what others' perspectives are.
can we talk about 7:17?? paul thanks each cast and crew member by name and shakes their hand or hugs them *every day* … i love paul sun-hyung lee so much
I have watched this entire series several times! Paul reminds me of my dad, American born "made in italy" dad. I could just hug all of you, and especially the writer!! Thank you! OK, see you!!
One thing is about drama is that the actors who can make us laugh are the same actors who can make us cry.... this is so true about Kim's Convenience!!!! Anyone can easily empathize with the characters played ❤
It makes me so sad to know how hard the cast members had to fight for their voices and accurate + respectful portrayals while filming. I hope these stars know that revealing their struggles with scripts/producers/cultural inaccuracies on set is such a helpful and honorable thing to do. It's clear that these actors are knowledgeable and each have their own impressive paths - I am rooting for you each all the way.
Pleased to see a Canadian production receive world acceptance. Worked in the industry in Toronto back in the '80's. Now after living in the US 30 years was pleasantly surprised to find this show on Netflix.
I stumbled upon this show 2 months before season 5 came out. So even with 5 seasons it felt super short, but I loved every minute of it! Okay, see you!
I heard about this show from a couple of people I work with. OMG, I absolutely love this series! I have been telling everybody about it. No, it's not like a regular sitcom. It's hilarious and serious and covers just about every life situation. It's filled with diversity and issues. The writing is perfect, the acting is perfect. It doesn't feel like a sitcom. It feels as if I am eavesdropping in all of these places. The little tiny gestures and looks are just so funny. I almost never laugh out loud at TV shows, but with Kim's Convenience, I laughed through most of it. I don't remember a laugh-track, so that's great. The humor has to stand on its own and It does. Kudos to everyone involved in production, and especially to the actors who pull it off so well! Ok, see you.
It was a great show from beginning to end. I am sorry it is over, but glad I was able to binge watch it on Netflix. Representation truly matters and this show did a lot to drive that point home.
I never watch series shows. My friend mentioned Kim's Convenience and I got hooked. This is the 1st series that I finished and finished the 5 season straight in just 1 month! I was so excited for Season 6 when I learned about the sad news.... Uppa and Umma's family became my family as well.
Video mentions Jean Yoon had a role on The Expanse (no plot spoilers) but also so do Simu Liu and Sugith Varughese (Mr. Mehta), though not at the same time. I really want them to sneak Paul, Andrea, and Andrew on for bit roles in the upcoming final season, that'd be a great little easter egg. The whole Kim family should be Martians.
netflix put this on the brazilian catalog last month, i finished it and now i feel hollow, and every single time i'm talking in english to someone i feel an urge to speak appa style. i cant stop it's so addicting props to everyone
What an utter tragedy, and a complete slap in the face to all the years of fan support, to simply walk away from such a groundbreaking and beloved show. The storyline made no sense at the end, after years of buildup and awesome storytelling, they simply kill the relationship between Nicole and simu's characters for no good reason whatsoever. I would honestly would rather have never seen this show at all, so I could have missed out on such a massive kick in the emotional groin, suffering the heartbreak of watching it fall apart in such an unsatisfying way, with so many looses ends story wise. Shame on ins Choi for having abandoned this show for no good reason without at least crafting a satisfying conclusion instead of the dumpster fire middle finger to fans that was season 5. What a bunch of bull. The only good thing that has come out of this show is the success of the great actors involved and the representation of East Asian individuals and families. Thank God for that but that provides little solace when after so many years of investment in these characters only to watch it and the way it did is nothing short of a complete and utter disaster. I would have no qualms about it had the network canceled it leaving it out of the hands and control of it the show's creators and showrunner. Instead they pulled the plug and walk away before anything is completed and properly wrapped up. I wish I could go back in time and never have watched the show
I accidentally stumbled upon Kim's Convenience when i was looking for some other show and thank goodness that i clicked on it and watched it. Such a good show with it's own emotional drama and laughs... Really beautiful❤❤❤
As someone who has watched and has finished Superstore and Kim's Convenience I realize we need more shows like these. They are my favorite kind of shows to watch.
Caucasian Floridian here. Just want to say Kim's Convenience is a great show! I binged watched it on Netflix and was bummed to hear that there wouldn't be a fifth season. I hope a made for TV movie comes out in the near future where Jung and Appa forget about the past and make amends.
I have a fairly unique way of relating to this show. I attended a Korean church for a bout 6 years in Cerritos, CA and it had a huge impact on me even after I left to return to my previous church. I definitely allowed myself to get acclimated and step into the lives of those who would let me. Made some close friends. Then discovering this show, I felt like I had a special insight to the humor which made it all the more funny because of that experience. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this show. I will say the unnecessary storyline about Janet's sexuality definitely just soured it for me. But there was so much left undone with all the other characters that it was a really unsatisfying ending. But otherwise, thanks for making such a great show.
I’m late for this show, I just started watching it a few weeks ago and I just finished the last episode and I was so bummed to hear that it was done. It had room for so much more ! Sigh,I really enjoyed this show and will truly miss it 💛😪
My parents are Japanese/Indonesian. They insisted I'd love this show after watching the episode where Janet moves out and is given a rice cooker....every time I've moved, my dad has given me a rice cooker. I have several....and I love rewatching this series over and over, and my friends do too!
I love this series. Countless times I have went through the episodes. They do feel like family or the best spot to stop and shop in the neighborhood. I am sad to hear it will not be continued. Okay...See you...
gods bless netflix for opening my american eyes to this canadian treasure. dont be sorry its gone, be happy it ever happened

Kim's Convenience could've been more mainstream. i swear it could've compete with other bigger sitcoms out there. It's a shame that it's ending :(
It just ruined the show for me and left a sour taste in my mouth. I loved and watched the entire show with my girlfriend, but the ending was so bad...

"okay, see you" only 40 times in the whole show dang thought it would be way higher
I accidentally stumbled upon Kim's Convenience when i was looking for some other show and thank goodness that i clicked on it and watched it. Such a good show with it's own emotional drama and laughs... Really beautiful❤❤❤
Omg I love this show so much ahhh thanks for existing 😭😭💖
I miss this show so much. It was such a great show.
Best show Ever...Please Come Back
As someone who has watched and has finished Superstore and Kim's Convenience I realize we need more shows like these. They are my favorite kind of shows to watch.
Loved this show! Thanks Netflix for introducing me to this gem.
Love the show. Thanks for letting us in :)
I love the simplicity of the show!
Caucasian Floridian here.
Just want to say Kim's Convenience is a great show!
I binged watched it on Netflix and was bummed to hear that there wouldn't be a fifth season. I hope a made for TV movie comes out in the near future where Jung and Appa forget about the past and make amends.
As someone who grew up on 80's and 90's sitcom. I must say this is the best show on Netflix !
Love this show! I've watched the series over and over!
This is truly a great sit-com. I loved every episode. Insightful, moving, hilarious, so endearing, just brilliant.
This is such an amazing show I hate the fact that they ended it. Love it. I suffer from severe anxiety and depression I put it on almost daily
But otherwise, thanks for making such a great show.
definitely agree with the part about janets sexuality. but the show overall was so precious 🥺
It really was.
Love this show. So wholesome and funny. Wish there were more like it.
Absolutely loved every minute of this show. Thank you to everyone involved!
I’m going to miss this family! 🙁 Thank you for five seasons of fun, warmth, and humanity, Appa and family! 🙏🏽☺️
I haven't seen the last season and I am scared to watch it. Bring it back 😭
Love love this in netflix. I watch this over and over hahaha
only sitcom that has made me laugh in years
I’m late for this show, I just started watching it a few weeks ago and I just finished the last episode and I was so bummed to hear that it was done.
This is amazing! Never knew i needed this
Never heard of the show till just a few weeks ago. I just started on season 4. Still loving it. Looking forward to the scenes shown in this video.

I love this series. Countless times I have went through the episodes. They do feel like family or the best spot to stop and shop in the neighborhood. I am sad to hear it will not be continued. Okay...See you...
