I did enjoy the beers. I love to taste test. I am really missing my German beers now that I'm back in the States. You can still get a few of them here, for about 3 to 4 times the price though.
I like to taste test different beers as well. Though, I don't know a whole lot about it or get a chance to sample much. German beer is some of the best!
The Geiger bars seem to be dominating UA-cam at the moment! Congratulations on your purchase, and I may have to head to Germany to see if they have similar sized coffee mugs :)
I'm tracking the 2oz and 1/2oz horses. we picked up some of the 1/2oz ones from Provident during their year-end sale at a pretty decent price, but I think those will do better than the 2oz ones in the long term. Probably a good play to get a bit of both though, that mug is fit for a giant!
I do like both the 1/2 oz and 2 oz. Ironically, the 1 oz horse was only $2 cheaper than the 2 oz horse when I bought them. I thought that was a bit crazy.
Heavenly Prepper I know! I am thinking a very large volume order may be the only way to buy the 1oz silver lunar horse below $35 each. We managed to get a couple at $32.50 back when they first came out but only because the small online dealer we go through is pretty awesome at times. JM Bullion jacked their price up probably because they moved a lot of them. I expect the 1/2 and 2 oz to go up as soon as the Ram/Goat coins start becoming available this fall.
That's a nice looking 250 gram bar. Since a kilo is 32.15 oz you are correct that it's 8.04 oz. The poured bars look more interesting than the minted bars. My first time in London I saw a sign that said "Subway." So I walked through it and realized that subway in England in an underground passage and not the train.
My only question to you, Heavenly Guzzler...I mean Prepper....is how long did those 10 beers last?? You should have taken that German stein with you and poured all 10 into the mug! BTW - that was one of the better unboxing vid's that you have done - you are getting very smooth when it comes to using your K-bar to open those coin packs!!!
Next time we have a video about someone complaining about the US Mint bags, I am going to refer them to this video! German beers in US Mint bags made in Vietnam! LOL Good video and I hope our horse coins skyrocket in price. Good Luck and God Bless!
Holy cow, the Germans dont mess around with their beer, do they? I do prefer the 2 ounce lunar horses, mainly because, when you sell them, the 2 ounce coins can absorb the shipping costs a little easier. It will be interesting to see how these age, but I think we will see a nice premium creep starting a few months after the year of the goat coins start getting released. Keep some dry powder for a year of the horse "clearance sale" at some point this summer/early fall
Both the Germans and the German waitresses don't mess around. I saw a waitresses carrying either 8 or 10 of those 1 liter steins full of beer to a nearby table, in her two hands - no tray or anything. I do intend to keep some dry powder, but I don't know if it will be for more horses. More like for the gold Kennedy coins coming out and the 2015 Lunar HR set. Granted that may be a bit down the road but stacking/collecting is an expensive pastime.
Heavenly Prepper Hey HP, have you ever considered a Gold/Silver backup plan? Say there was a confiscation and you lost all your bullion including 90%. Do you have a backup plan like copper,Bronze, nickel bullion? Maybe gemstones? I stack but I'm dead afraid of a confiscation. Thanks
Jordan Cookie Have not considered this. The last "confiscation" in 1933 was voluntary. They didn't go door to door and inspect for gold. I doubt they would try that either, this time around.
Very good
Been to Frankfurt but luckily they had bags. Fun story!
Indeed, some stores to have shopping bags, but most grocery type stores didn't in my experience. I did not make that mistake in Europe ever again.
Great unboxing! Out of all the sizes I think the half ounce is the best deal, and does the best of all the sizes in the after mmarket. Great job!
I do like them both, especially considering how over-priced the normal 1 ounce horse was. Thanks for watching.
nice silver and great story from germany
Thanks papermoney
lol What an experience. Too funny. I hope you enjoyed the beers. Great unboxing!

Cool coins man and funny story!
Thanks Gavin.

The geiger bars are cool aren't they? Wish they made them in troy ounces so I didn't have to remember the ratio of grams to ounces lol.
Haha I must admit it's always a pain trying to quickly do the conversions in your head!
Closet Stacker Germans. lol

Took me about 2 weeks to finish the 10 beers - but I did have some help too.

I sure could have used a US Mint bag that day - doh! Thanks for watching.

I would hope not. Thanks for the input, and if you ever invest in gemstones stay away from diamonds... Thanks!
