With 2-strokes you only use the clutch when you start from a stop. To down shift you just let off throttle and bang the gear down, same to up shift. Some guys will no lift shift when upshifting but then you'll have to rebuild the transmission more often. You can see the clutch right behind the left side of the steering wheel.
