I think an advantage to constant lights that some people miss is that you get more of the iris because the model's pupils constrict more when under the constant light.
@@cammackey Well so from what I've found the momentary pop of a strobe isn't enough to affect the pupil size so they will stay wider due to the low power of the modeling lights or ambient light. But with constant lights that are brighter all the time the pupils will start to close if they sit in the light for a few moments since it's fairly bright which will give you more color in the eyes. Might be worth testing though! It's the little things that can make a photo stand out.
Yeah, this is a huge detail that I use for headshots. I always have a constant light in addition to strobes (usually a 3 light setup) just for this effect.
Love this vid. Great to see other photographers set ups. Would love to see an on location set up and also working with v lock batteries and off grid power set ups.
new to your channel so not sure if your covered any lights from Aputure but would you say there 1200d pro is overkill?? im a novice and i beleive those are meant more for cinema work
You have 2 variables to play with. time and the size of the hole. You can get away with 1/30th of a second with minimal effort on a mirrorless. For even more wiggle room put it on a tripod, use a remote shutter release and set it for 1/8th of a second. I just started shooting 4x5. I either have to chase raw power or slow down. Raw power is easy. Stack multiple monolights. shutter speed is meaningless. I have to slow down with leds. With leds to reach my desired f-stop of f 32, i haven't made an exposure faster than 1/15th of a second. lots of different solutions to the same problem.
I love that FalconEyes but I wish it’s Bluetooth functionality was a bit better. I’d rather adjust it from an app than run back and forth from the control panel.
Best of all is if they have a remote. I hear what you’re saying about Bluetooth, though. Jumping on your phone during a shoot kills the vibe sometimes. But I hate running back and forth from my camera and lights to dial in the right color and exposure. That kills the vibe of the shoot too. If they have a remote for it, that probably the best of all worlds for this lighting unit.

Well the pupils get larger when under lower light tho right? So with a trobes the pupil would be smaller, giving you more eye color.

@@NickDelDuca ooooo okay I could see that now. Great little truck for portraits

Small pupils are unattractive though. Hence belladonna being used to enlarge womens' pupils.

It's so cool, girls like this are crazy
Great video Cam! Thanks for sharing. More studio tips would be 👌👌 Your dog is such a captive audience :)
Would love me a top light, that falcon eyes looks freaking ideal..!
Keep up the good work!! Your video is very informative!
Hey from Paris , do you have a link for your backdrop ? thank you for what you've doing i've started photography because of you
Yes if you say extremely excited about it mean you are very interested which says you are very good at it
Nice little review. Are you still using the Forza 500?
Awesome

oh man I personally hate bluetooth stuff, kinda gets in the way of my workflow. Def comes in handy tho in hard to reach areas

How does Godox ml600 compare to Nanlite 500 in term of output?
Gives you 2-3 stops more of light
Cam, where did you get your backdrop frame and background colors from?
BH! I’ll add the links when I get a moment!
@@cammackey thanks Cam!
