Wonderful to hear a bunch of "geezers" sounding so great. In January 2019 I spotted a billboard for a McCartney concert. I was in a small bus going to the airport in Santiago Chile. International appeal for a true craftsman.
My wife and I went on our honeymoon in St. Louis about eight or nine years ago, and stayed at a Hyatt. It looked more like a castle than anything. Anyway, a week before we showed up, Paul McCartney was there. Upon checking out his 1980 something Bronco broke down out front. When an employee asked why he doesn't just get a rental or buy a new car, Paul told him the truck was a sentimental thing. Can you imagine if John Lennon had ridden in it? Wow. I love amazing stories like this.
There exists pictures of Paul and a few fans at a gas station in Springfield IL during that trip. For whatever reason he and his wife decided to drive from Chicago to ST. Louis.
I'm so glad that Paul sings the nice song called "that's all right mama" which Elvis had sung before. Of course, Paul's singing is as marvelous as Elvis! He has brought an additioal value into this song. Next, I'd like to hope that Paul will sing Elvis' thrilling song called "One night" that makes us feel "Rhythm and Blues" spirit. From Tokyo
Scotty and DJ, the music sounded just like the original, it made my spine tingle, Scotty's guitar sound was exactly the same as it was in the early days, real grit music, and sadly missed.
There are some artists that even the most accomplished performers recognize as being an inspiration to what they eventually become. For Paul his respect to Elvis' was this magnificent tip o the derby. His take on the classic blues standard which Elvis covered, was equally beautiful. Every once in a while, sing like your heroes. It just feels so good to give their work new life. Mine is covering John with Revolution and In My Life. Paul with that band is a pearl. Let him shine with it. If you don't agree, just shut up and go away.
you know, when I watched this video for 1st time I thought "Hey, that old man rocks on guitar" Then I found out he was Elvis lead guitarist. Lol. Amazing axe man
This is an exceptionally special video. I am very disappointed, Pedro, that you have not acknowledged that 2 of Elvis's original musicians are playing here with Paul while he is singing their, and Elvis's, first hit record. Scotty Moore the unique guitarist, and the drummer Dominic Fontana. So love the way Paul honoured these two, with this recording, at the sunset of their musical lives - which makes 'Mama' their first and their last recording, both performed with a top icon of the music world.
To me he is not wanting to be better, or imitate Elvis, for me he's paying homage, as all Beatles always said Elvis fans. A well-known phrase of John Lenon he said: "Before Elvis there was nothing" Beautiful tribute, Elvis has always been and always will be the best.
Most elvis songs are old blues songs blues had a baby and called it rock and roll black slang for sex little Richard says it best in good golly miss molly even though he's as gay as the day is long
blaster88778 Many artists during and before that era didn't write their own material including Sinatra, Ellla, Billi Holiday et al, Elvis made these songs his own and his version is way different to the original. It is a race issue and if Elvis was black it wouldn't be a problem. A black artist called Big Mama Thorton recorded "hound Dog" which was written by two white jews, Leiber and Stoller (who wrote for many black artists) but no one says they stole music from the jews. Many of the artists Elvis covered wouldn't have seen the light of day if it wasn't for him. Everyone is influenced by everyone black or white. Stealing is when you cover something verbatim. Elvis transformed those early blues songs into a music form called "rockabilly" Everyone who covers the song does the Elvis version. Crudup's version is simple 12 bar R & B. Many black greats like Howlin Wolf, Jackie Wilson, BB King, James Brown and Fats Domino weren't bitter about Elvis' fame and acknowledge his originality

Absolutely loved this, thank you Paul............Scotty and DJ.......RIP Scotty, and of course, the King. At the age of 14, I was actually one of the first to purchase those 45's..........Yeah, all from SUN. The King changed the World, before the music was by Patti Page, HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGY IN THE WINDOW. THANK GOD, and they didn't run Elvis out of town.
Artist Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup...........blues legend!........thanks Big Boy for giving the world a great sound!......you’re the man!!
RIP, Scotty... you were the architect, and you deserve all the praise.
Scotty wasn't the architect of anything. He was a good session guitarist. Do you even have an idea how That's Alright came about?
How old was he in this video
@@TheGreekPoet you need to listen to all of the praise his fellow musicians gives him in regards to that. Just saying he isn‘t doesn‘t make you right
@@TheGreekPoet it "came" about when EP single-handedly used the song as a device to INVENT "Rockabilly",,,,he made it what it was. a new style...he could have used any song....witness the flip side of this song in '54....EP took the COUNTRY song "Blue Moon of Kentucky" and also turned IT into "Rockabilly."
@@TheGreekPoet it was Scotty who told Sam Phillips at Sun Records that Elvis had potential, and at the first recording session, when Elvis spontaneously turned the slow song "That's Alright" into an up tempo rockabilly rave up, Scotty created the catchy lead guitar throughout the song that gave it the drive it needed. So he WAS the architect and Elvis was the "builder"
Excellent work by Paul and Elvis' band! Sure Elvis would be proud!
Elvis was a charismatic talented entertainer and PC a brilliant songwriter. Elvis had such a powerful voice.
Louis.

McCartney was an artist who had the good sense to love those before him and to compliment them in a most sincere fashion.
Realy.. Doctor 😷🤕🙏
The voice of a generation ..Elv- i mean PAUL
R.I.P. D.J. Fontana. So glad these three greats got to play together on this Earth.
Thank you for giving due to Elvis' great drummer.
From Tokyo
Arfhur Cradup wrote and sang this song i in the 1940's . great Blues Singer
Have heard a few artists performing this, but Paul McCartney knows how to sell it.
Elvis and McCartney= PERFECTION!!
Paul's voice along with his songwriting puts him in a class of his own
One great legend doing a cover on another legend. What more can we ask for???
Scotty and DJ, the music sounded just like the original, it made my spine tingle, Scotty's guitar sound was exactly the same as it was in the early days, real grit music, and sadly missed.
Oh man he's got a great voice for this!
Elvis and the Beatles were thr two main revolionary in music business in 1960s, Elvis as a solo artist and The Beatles as a band.
I think John said without Elvis there would be no Beatles.
Scotty Moore a true TRUE legend ......
3 masters and pioneers of the modern music world, singing the first recording of that era!!
What a treat!!!!
Paul's face, like a kid in a sweet shop! Marvelous.
you know, when I watched this video for 1st time I thought "Hey, that old man rocks on guitar" Then I found out he was Elvis lead guitarist.
So love the way Paul honoured these two, with this recording, at the sunset of their musical lives - which makes 'Mama' their first and their last recording, both performed with a top icon of the music world.
wow this is the best paul i have seen in a long time
Love this version. I wish it was available to download
Paul con los músicos de Elvis, que maravillosa reunión y que buen sonido.
To me he is not wanting to be better, or imitate Elvis, for me he's paying homage, as all Beatles always said Elvis fans.
A well-known phrase of John Lenon he said:
"Before Elvis there was nothing"
Beautiful tribute, Elvis has always been and always will be the best.
Thank you very much, I like your comment alot!
Originally not elvis. Arthur crudup wrote this elvis stole it white man singing black man songs
Elvis is shit
Paul nailed it, he’s amazing
*The drummer :*
_Dominic Joseph ( DJ ) Fontana_ was an American musician best known as the drummer for Elvis Presley for 14 years. In October 1954 he was hired to play drums for Presley, which marked the beginning of a fifteen-year relationship. He played on over 460 RCA cuts with Elvis. Wikipedia
Born: March 15, 1931, Shreveport, LA
Died: June 13, 2018, Nashville, TN
Paul never forgets his original inspirations it amazing that such a talented writer and performer still enjoys his early heros a true genius.
Looks like that singer has some talent. He should perform at some talent show. Maybe he will be famous some day. Mark my words.
Paul McCartney is probably the greatest pop rocker of all times!
Ну как в одном человеке столько умения и таланта. Что петь что играть что дружить что сочинять. Божья милость благодать.
Paul's been playing some version of this song since he was 15 yrs old.
Fun to watch all of them watching him to get timing set up.
"Fun's, fun but this is Elvis we're doing here fellas"...
Parmis !es meilleurs depuis très longtemps !!!! ne changez rien !!!!
Bill Black is amazing. Thanks for doing this Paul. Very Cool.
Bill Black had died before this clip.
That was awesome! Paul is such a kind soul. Scotty Moore just as good as he has ever been on the guitar! Thanks for sharing!
2019
The best singer-bassist of all time. I don't care if you hate him.
John Paul Jones rings a bell?
@@GeoZeppelin1979 but Robet Plant sang lead. Im talking bout a singer-bassist
Paul is dead. Billy Shears is what is now.
You left out “greatest songwriter of all time”
Absolutely!
God almighty, Scotty is in top form, flawless and smooth as butter
The world loves Paul McCartney. And if we’re going to talk about ego’s, which is not fair, let’s be frank no one had a bigger ego than Elvis.I recorded that song on my iPhone I’d love Paul to take a listen
I love this perfomance. Excelent Paul singing and brilliant guitar playing
Paul McCartney with Elvis Song and Band Members !! Awesome!!!!
I have heard "thats alright" many many times. And I have to give credit to McCartney. He does an excellent job in capturing the song. I'd really like to hear some more Elvis songs from him!
I heard Paul wrote Name and address for Elvis, but unfortunatly it was 2 late
that was amazing. truly spectacular in every way. Scotty & Paul.....wow.
Coming from a two-day streaming of
Bob Dylan's discography. I cannot tell
you enough how happy I am now that
Paul is playing some music.
Three legends honoring the greatest entertainer to ever pick up a guitar!
One can only hope when it's Paul's time to go he can join Elvis, DJ, Scotty, & Bill in an all eternity jam.
Along with John and George, they're playing with all the rock and roll pioneers such as Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and Eddie Cochran
Paul McCartney sounds really good singing that's alright now mama love all the music thank you for sharing it with me
Paul McCartney, Winfield Scott (Scotty) Moore III, and D.J. Fontana on the drums. 2/3rds of these guys were playing with Elvis in his first year, Scotty Moore on his first concert! Great stuff here!
