I disagree, Righteous Brothers who were the originator's of this classic we're the masters... unfortunately Ellis was near death at the time of this cover song....he was good as always , but not great.
No, the Righteous Brothers weren't the originals by a long shot (their version is from 1965). The song was an instrumental for a movie called Unchained in 1955. Al Hibbler and Les Baxter had earlier hits with the song back a decade prior. It was already an older song.
Guys, Im just sayin that this version something else. This is not disrespectful to the Righteous Brothers or anybody else. Yes Elvis was near death at that time - and you can hear the pain and the need for love in this performance like nowhere else. At least thats what I feel when I watch this performance. This is a masterpiece in music history - for several reasons. TCB
This was his last concert, he passed away 2 months later,,,,,,,, He was never trained in music instruments or voice lessons,, he was a GOD given talent.
Elvis essentials...can’t help falling in love, suspicious minds, a little less conversation, it’s now or never. I live on oldies, I could do this forever...
This performance was right before he died. You should watch the live version. He was really struggling to sing and breath. Was also really overweight. So sad to watch. But through all his addictions and health problems he still had that amazing voice..
This was from 76 or 77 and you can clearly hear him struggling and suffering, the Elvis we knew was long gone by this time around, but he kept at it for his fans and foremost himself, he felt music and his feelings was delivierd to us😟❤️ His story is sad, so alone but was the most loved person in the world and still is. Got fame that was out of this world over 1 night. He was a wonder ❤️ Long live the kings memory, wish he never left but as long as i can dream he is still around.
Elvis sang a really pretty lesser known song called "It's Midnight" that is really beautiful and to me tells how much he missed Priscilla. Would be a great one to react to.
nobody could beat Elvis Presley God gave this man such an annointing voice. that was really meant to use a sing for him I believe at the end of his life he knew that as God took him home.
When he did this song ( the version you just heart ) he was very Ill he died 6 weeks later . He wasn't happy with this version he was so mad at himself that he played the song over and over again on his piano when he got back home ... wow can't imagine how even a better version of him would sound like .
I've been to Graceland twice. This is a tearjerker. Coincidentally I watched this for the first time a couple of months ago. You can tell that he put his whole heart into this performance; possibly because he knew that he wasn't going to live much longer. This is just my opinion. He died not too much longer after this. Sad
And he sang that at the end of his career just before he died. There is no doubt in my mind that as the decades continue to pass Elvis' vocal fame will increase. Vocal range wise Freddy Mercury was right there with Elvis but Elvis had a smoother and better quality to his voice.
Some good Elvis sings are Way Down An American Trilogy (Aloha from Hawaii version) Suspicious Minds Edge of Reality Kentucky Rain In the Ghetto Never been to Spain Long Black Limousine Down in the Alley If I can Dream Always on my mind New Orleans Can't help falling in love. Are good to start with.
Blue Moon Little Sister I got stung Trouble Fever Big Boss Man Guitar Man Mystery Train A Fool Such As I Crawfish Love Me Lawdy Miss Clawdy (They'll Be) Peace In The Valley If I Can Dream Memories Kentucky Rain Polk Salad Annie Way Down The Wonder Of You Always On My Mind I Feel So Bad American Trilogy My Way. You should react to Elvis singing In the Ghetto, You've lost that loving feeling, Can't stop loving you and Lawdy miss clawdy he sound so good in these songs
Elvis had an amazing voice not many could match.......I thought he was best singing Gospel Music. I believe in an interview he said that Gospel was his true love in music. I was 6 when he died. I remember it because I was watching TV when it was reported by the news. I ran outside to tell my mom. She didn't believe me. She cried along with my aunt when they saw I was telling the truth.......they had seen Elvis in Charlotte just a few months earlier in one of his final concerts. She still has the ticket and her photos.
Hey there I am just going to watch this now I'm from Canada and white woman don't know why I have to say that but I love this song I love most of Elvis's songs even though I was like 10 when he died, if you get a chance to listen to more of his music like in the ghetto and a few others you will really see music brings everyone together and it always has
Thanks for being open minded. I liked... If I can Dream and he recited a poem once called these men with broken hearts. It went. If you ever stood in another man's shoes or saw things through his eyes. Stood and held with helpless hands while the heart inside you dies. So help your brother along the way for no matter where he starts. The same God that made you made him too. These men with broken hearts. There was a song that went along those same lines. Called walk a mile in my shoes.
He was very sick here he had glaucoma, asthma hypertension.diabetes, mega colon that sometimes twists n causes blockage n strain on his heart that caused a heart attack. His heart was enlarged n clogged arteries. The management.asked him if he would like to cut the concert in half but he said the show should go on for my fans. He was very short of breath at this last tour but gave a great performance. When Elvis got to Heaven God said " Good job my boy" Listen to Suspicious Minds, Polk Salad Annie, Patch It Up, American Trilogy n he sang close to 500 songs that I know of. I have been listening to him since 1956 n got to go to 1973 concert in Hawaii that was broadcasted around the world to 26 countries around 2 billion people saw it. Was seen more than the moon landing.
Like Elvis or not he is one of the - if not THE most influential artist in modern music history. His rock songs influenced bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Stones who then went on to influence artists after that. His softer and more soul like music influenced artists like Michael Jackson and Queen
Elvis was a great site singer , this is not his best fo sure...early Elvis blue suade shoes, jail house rock later Elvis my favorite is Kentucky Rain then suspicious minds, in the getto, can't help falling in love....and for something really special listen to his version of how great thou art....Elvis had a voice made for gospel you won't be disappointed ..promise......♡
I’ve never seen anyone, reacting to their first Elvis song, have anything negative to say, just the opposite. Listen to him and you’ll forever be a huge fan!!
Put on the headphones, darken the room and listen to his version of "Danny Boy". You can hear the emotion in his voice. All the greats have the ability to feel the song, not just hit the notes. No one has ever been better at bringing a song to life than Mr.Presley.
What now my from love aloha rehearsal concert, If I can dream the 68' comeback special Black leather version, In the Ghetto, American Trilogy or maybe Bridge over troubled water
Pink Floyd cover band - Brit Floyd is the best PF cover around. Watch the Red Rock Venue if you want a good show. They play yearly in Dayton Ohio and sell out. To get good seats you have to get tickets as soon as they announce it.
Elvis is my cousin so I love them all growing up in a Presley house hold after he passed. This one, unchained melody i listen to every day to get my day going the live version ,then Suspicious minds, Now or Never,Why Me Lord, In the Ghetto etc. Their all soo amazing and so was he as a person. He didnt just have the talent and charisma but a heart of gold he helped everyone he could with. . R.i.p Elvis I love u & will see u one day
Elvis could sing anything . He had such as vocal range. The does soft and tender one moment and blow the roof off the next. That's why he is the KING. Always TCB. LOVE ELVIS.
This was the Righteous Brothers Big Hit, and a hall of fame recording and song. Elvis in this performance was very sick here and died a few weeks later. The Righteous Brothers we're very good friends of Elvis. When they appeared together at the International Hilton in Vegas, the Brothers played the lounge, and Elvis the main showroom. They had a few smash hits, Elvis had dozens. Elvis was a trendsetter and is the most successful ever in the music business, he's in the Rock, Country, and Gospel Halls of Fame. His home Graceland was declared a National Historic Landmark by President Bush. He is the most versatile singer ever. Other Rock Stars, Elvis could do what they did, but they couldn't match him. His Heyday was in the 50's, and in 1958 was drafted into the army, and served his country proudly. His best singing, and what amazing vocals came after his army release. He could sing all types of music. He's the Original American Idol, and as BB King stated, "they made no mistake when they named him The King".
Check out Elvis's daughter doing a collaberation with her father singing together the beautiful "In The Ghetto"...prepare, have Kleenex handy. It will definitely hit your soul.
Little brother I'm glad to see that you're recognizing Elvis the king of rock and roll. There's actually a 100% live version of this song. It's actually a historic performance because it was the concert of his last performance! He died six weeks later!
You're probably not seeing the actual video. It's powerful! Him sitting there, playing those keys on that piano, no backup, sweat streaming down his face, looking at Charlie for assurance, but belting out such vocalization, a rendition of the Righteous Bros. hit. That was the last song he sung b4 his passing a couple months later, in August! And I remember where I was to the millisecond the moment the car radio broke with the news, in the middle of a hot, summer day weather report!
Listen to Elvis in the early sixties in late fifties when he was in bed of vocal and physical condition I think you would like it better Elvis was better in his younger years
Something you may not know is he done this live only about 6 weeks before he passed away and he was also playing the piano at the same time as singing like that. Just another reason why hes the king and the greatest entertainer of all time.
The most honest version of that song ever!! The King !!
I disagree, Righteous Brothers who were the originator's of this classic we're the masters... unfortunately Ellis was near death at the time of this cover song....he was good as always , but not great.
Thank you!! That was awesome.
No, the Righteous Brothers weren't the originals by a long shot (their version is from 1965). The song was an instrumental for a movie called Unchained in 1955. Al Hibbler and Les Baxter had earlier hits with the song back a decade prior. It was already an older song.
Just Good Music Uhh, as opposed to the most “dishonest” version..??
Guys, Im just sayin that this version something else. This is not disrespectful to the Righteous Brothers or anybody else. Yes Elvis was near death at that time - and you can hear the pain and the need for love in this performance like nowhere else. At least thats what I feel when I watch this performance. This is a masterpiece in music history - for several reasons. TCB
When Elvis sang this he was so messed up that he could barely stand up or even speak, but the moment he started to sing he was the king again.
This was his last concert, he passed away 2 months later,,,,,,,, He was never trained in music instruments or voice lessons,, he was a GOD given talent.
This was his last televised concert
You can feel the power in his Voice
Elvis essentials...can’t help falling in love, suspicious minds, a little less conversation, it’s now or never. I live on oldies, I could do this forever...
You forgot Are You Lonesome Tonight, Jailhouse Rock and All Shook Up.
did you hear Haley Reinhart s version of "can’t help falling in love" ? #MustHear
Beautiful...Just listened to it @Johannes Boschmann, thanks!
You could also add Always on my mind, In the ghetto, Bridge over troubled water, and If I can dream to the list.
I love In the Ghetto
Elvis was the man!!!If I ever got a time machine he is one of the people I would love to go back and hangout with
He is still the man!
He had such a beautiful voice!!
This performance was right before he died. You should watch the live version. He was really struggling to sing and breath. Was also really overweight. So sad to watch. But through all his addictions and health problems he still had that amazing voice..

Yes awesome suggestion!!!
I love that song.
Todd Hodges The best song and performance of all time!
It's Elvis, listen to any of his songs.
Way down is a great Elvis song and also Moody Blue which he wrote himself.
Elvis version is the best
bottom line
case closed ;)
I just found Elvis at 54... holy crap, the best.
When he did this song ( the version you just heart ) he was very Ill he died 6 weeks later .
He wasn't happy with this version he was so mad at himself that he played the song over and over again on his piano when he got back home ... wow can't imagine how even a better version of him would sound like .
My personal favorite of Elvis was his rendition of 'My Way'. You should check it out.
Hey try Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis. Such a beautiful song. 💙
I've been to Graceland twice. This is a tearjerker. Coincidentally I watched this for the first time a couple of months ago. You can tell that he put his whole heart into this performance; possibly because he knew that he wasn't going to live much longer. This is just my opinion. He died not too much longer after this. Sad

Soon will have been dead longer than he was alive and still nobody has ever come close to the talent this guy had!!
You should react to an Elvis rock and roll song. Jailhouse rock or Heartbreak Hotel are perfect Elvis rock and roll songs.
Yay! We can see you again!
Elvis- In the Getto is another good display of his vocal talent.
That new mic makes you sound dreamy! 😍😍😍
Yes, but I'll need my tissues for that one!

HIs voice gives me chills.

Man, he and Sinatra, what voice they had!
Jeff Duke Sinatra never held a note he talked the song lol
Sinatra got nothing on Elvis
His sun recordings were killer. Mystery Train, Wow! Lots of stations wouldn't play his songs cause they thought he was black!
suspicious minds with Elvis is cool
Man Joey you have definitely missed out on some of the best. Elvis is The King! Classic!
This is from 6 weeks before he died and he was not well at all but still he could bring it on, at even live at this song !!!
Elvis had an amazing voice not many could match.......I thought he was best singing Gospel Music. I believe in an interview he said that Gospel was his true love in music. I was 6 when he died. Can you name one artist that people will still be loving and still playing his music 40 or 50 years after he dies? He was one of a kind. The King.
Dude had some pipes. Powerful.

Greatest singer that ever lived period!! Elvis was the first rock n roll GOD and became a true king! His voice was perfection.
AND Elvis is playing the piano ;-) This was overdubbed in 1978 and was a hit single in the USA but not released in the UK! Bloody shame!
Thanks for being open minded.
I liked... If I can Dream and he recited a poem once called these men with broken hearts.
It went.
If you ever stood in another man's shoes or saw things through his eyes.

So help your brother along the way for no matter where he starts. The same God that made you made him too. These men with broken hearts.
There was a song that went along those same lines. Called walk a mile in my shoes.
The voice unite all races!
We all get it, all of us Elvis lovers!
Yep, he still had those "vocals", 6 weeks before his untimely death!
it was wasny elvis hitting the high note at the end of the song, it was one of his back up singers called Lesley neilson.
He was very sick here he had glaucoma, asthma hypertension.diabetes, mega colon that sometimes twists n causes blockage n strain on his heart that caused a heart attack. Elvis Presley singing was a rocket ship from Earth into the universe in my opinion on matched
If you are going to do Elvis then maybe you should do somw of his other stuff like In the Ghetto, that's kind of a cool song.
Listen to suspicious minds! My favorite Elvis song! Please!
Look at how handsome he was as well; what a pity about the drugs
My favorite Elvis song is called if I can dream.

Elvis is good live...

Joey Meets Elvis !! Check out Gene Vincent Be Bop A Lula for some 50's rockabilly. Like Elvis, Gene "The Catman" had soul. Great clip .
Put on the headphones, darken the room and listen to his version of "Danny Boy". You can hear the emotion in his voice. All the greats have the ability to feel the song, not just hit the notes. No one has ever been better at bringing a song to life than Mr.Presley.
About 6 weeks before he died he recorded this while playing the piano... He still had it to the end... Nice reaction
Elvis In The Ghetto is another good one
The last song Elvis performed on stage. Just days before his death.
Elvis In the Ghetto or If I Can Dream--awesome songs.
Definitely these two songs.
He sung this the same year he passed away! Earlier versions are just as powerful!!
