Specializing in straw man arguments, Hasan has managed to build a career in the political space by pretending to be a socialist, despite the fact that none of his actions are that of an actual socialist. In my opinion he is also a political extremist who is the definition of partisan hack and we discuss these topics and why I don't like HasnAbi in today's video.

A lot of his fans are young and impressionable, so it’s no surprise this dude appeals to a lot of them. He’s just like them - no genuine work experience, doesn’t have to worry about money, has been sheltered, is able to spend their time every day being online sperging out over social issues, and doesn’t appeal to the majority of adults. A number of those fans will no doubt age and look back on their time watching his streams while cringing over their naivety.
It’s the ones who are fully grown that one can’t help but see as pathetic. The types that consider themselves to be intellectually superior and credible in every single conversation despite repeating the same damn talking points they heard him spew during the 6+ hours a day they spend consuming his content like drones. The ones that will sit in Discord all day, pretending they totally don’t have a parasocial relationship, and crave attention from anyone in his circle because they don’t get it anywhere else.
… and those are the ones that genuinely believe they’ve got their finger on the pulse of the country and know exactly what it needs. He’s really convinced them they’re going to bring about big change … by having the most garbage hypocritical mainstream takes that comes from your average Redditor on political subs. They just have to be sure to throw donos his way - that poor millionaire is _obviously_ leading a revolution.

I remember seeing his true colors when he admitted to going to an unregulated brothel. He had no way to verify the women weren’t sex trafficked and bragged about “banging a prostitute” because he’s “pro sex work”. Sorry but anyone who’s “pro sex work” would know that because there are no laws protecting sex workers, especially not in other foreign countries (which hasan was in), that there is no ethical way to support sex work because there’s no way to verify the girls are being compensated properly and aren’t being sex trafficked
I'm not pro sex work, as in making it regulated as any other type of work, but I struggle to see how we could eliminate sex trafficking or guarantee fair compensation to workers. It's a pipe dream for people who like the idea of sex work, but only under ideal conditions. Society will never match that ideal of empowered individuals with agency and decency in reality.

ive watched hasan since about late 2021 and ever since i started ive literally just been captivated by him…this was also in the midst of my “rebellious” teenage years and my brother is extremely conservative so it just felt right to be on the left. i literally have never even thought twice about what he has said (i am aware this is extremely ignorant) because when i started, i was only 13 and i believed everything somebody said to me. my literal world has been rocked by this video. i always see him brushing off hate and ive laughed it off too because i frankly find him hilarious and in my head he has never done anything to make me second guess that but when i i clicked on the vid thinking oh this is some BS, it has really changed my view. i just wanted to share and get it off my chest because im honestly at a loss for words. i feel like ive been hiding in a dark movie theatre for the past 2 1/2 years and ive finally come out to see that its still sunny outside

2:35 just gotta say, between the ages of 22-30 is when I grew and changed the most in my life. it's also when I stopped using words that hurt certain communities of people, because I had grown up and realized the impact of my words and that they matter more than I thought as a white person who grew up in a pretty (purposely) segregated town with casual racism being common/normal. moving states away from said town and meeting people from all walks of life made me grow as a person so much and at age 22 exactly is when I started getting much more involved/into politics and began learning a lot I didn't know. your 20s is literally the biggest time for growth and becoming who you'll *really* be as an adult. so saying people typically don't just change from age 22-31 is just outright wrong, and gives me the sense you are only in your early 20s at the latest and probably don't have the life experience to make that claim (I'm making a bold assumption so fuck me if I'm wrong)

For example, Bernie Sanders who Hasan openly supports and who, on top of being America’s largest grassroots socialist leader, is also worth a few million dollars because of his bestselling books. Regardless, he has still time and time again advocated for working class issues at times being the only senator in washington to do so for literally decades. And that’s the thing. It seems like your whole video’s argument falls apart when you realize that you can criticize neoliberal capitalism and actually help change a system while participating in it. In fact, I’d argue that to criticize a socialist for partaking in the capitalist environment we all have to exist under is really unfair and done in bad faith since neither you nor I have any choice in wether we earn money. We all strive for success. You making this very video is proof of that. How can criticize someone doing the same thing you are? How can you expect anything to change if you don’t allow the people calling for change to even gain any of the resources or influence required to do so? That’s my take.

Hey King, I dont really want to spend a lot of time defending someone I dont know, but I watch some of hasans stuff and i usually enjoy it despite its imperfections. first off i dont know if the clip at 1:05 is meant to be an actual quote or not, but he is being sarcastic in that clip- it doesnt really take away from your points- but I just wanted to touch on that. second of all, im interested on your thoughts on this take- any westerner, or anyone from almost any 1st world country, who espouses socialistic ideals would be a champagne socialist because of the huge difference in wealth between the average citizens of 1st and 3rd world countries. The last thing I wanted to say relates to your point on someone not changing much between the years of 22 and 31, I completely disagree. If you consider who you were 9 years ago would you say you are still very similar to that person? In my own case I have experienced a night a day difference. Further, your early 20s are the last few years of brain development, so passing through those years, developing completely, learning how to live as an adult on your own and developing more complex relationships will definitely have a massive impact on who you are. Ask anyone over 30- your 20s are the years where the average 1st world person becomes who they are for the rest of their lives.

discovered Hasan recently since i wanted to watch some more left leaning views. Hasan isn't a leftist, socialist or communist, Hasan is a lier for money. that is more or less what i got from him so far. he combines he decent looks and large build, high level of confidence, and his status as "minority" to seem as a legitimate and well spoken political commentator that actually has something to say, while in reality it's the complete opposite.
every time hasan is presented with an opposing argument he straw mans it. its literally all he does. his entire shtick is straw manning his opponents constantly
