I remember the scene just before Will and Kevin Bacon do their dance. Will says Footloose is my favorite Kevin Bacon movie (or something like that). Kevin then asks Will "Really...just that one?". Will says "Well...yeah". He could have gone and said "Well Kevin in a lot of your other movies you play mostly bad and creepy characters..."
Another P.S.; in the photo of the W&G cast, it looks like they all are in some way trying to grope Debra Messing and her smile looks like she does not mind. I wonder what that is all about?
Kevin Bacon is an iconic celebrity figure however the major dancing in Footloose was done by Peter Tramm who tragically died a few years later. Featured on Michael Jackson's "Beat it", Cher tour's, Donna Summers televised "Last dance", solo's on daytime talk shows etc.
There's a guy who choreographed "I Can Dream About You" which featured the Moonwalk BEFORE Michael Jackson ever did it (and never as well done as in that music video/movie). I know because I watched that music video several times before Michael Jackson "announced" his moonwalk. The choreographer was also a dancer in at least "Thriller" and for other artists as well. I wasn't a fan of Michael Jackson, I think he made a poor role model (even before the worse news broke out) which was why he was promoted - much like not getting the Presidential Candidates we want or Vote for. It sounds like a conspiracy but no, it's not. "Stay in your place fools. Be a worker and a consumer." If there were more than just a few people to look up to, people might believe in opportunities. Not "special people" with a secret or a scientology religion.
My second favorite actor after Val Kilmer -- who was in "Top Gun" with Tom Cruise, who was in "A Few Good Men" with Bacon. (Huh, that was a small one...)
OK, someone help. "Famous" dance this is, yet I cannot find it in the film. It isn't in the final dance sequence, nor the warehouse sequence, nor the scene in which Kevin teaches the tyro; it isn't at the drive-in, and it wasn't part of the classic So You Think You Can Dance routine, nor is it in the vimeo (learn the footloose dance moves" video, or in the wedding videos, nor did Bacon do it when he "entered" on Fallon's show. Yet doesn't everyone recognize these particular moves, the kick and "high arms?" So where IS that part of the dancing? WHERE? PLEASE someone tell me (and yes, this scene is one of the all-time great comedy show scenes, I have it on video and laugh every time).

1:10. I Kno reruns of will and grace are rare these days but most reruns of the kevin bacon episode leave this part out
