Remember when the denman brush first came out and a lot of naturals didn't like it because they felt like it was scraping product from the roots and bringing it down to the ends? I feel this same way about the 3 row comb. So now when I use it, I apply the gel, detangle with it, then smooth the roots down with just a tad bit more product once more before i move on to another section. It really helps and tames the frizz...
I'm going to try that method I need to smooth my roots down better

I love the 3-row comb but I only use it to detangle my hair on wash day. I have 4c hair and detangling is a journey but since I been using the 3-row comb, it detangles my hair better than the other products. I do mist my hair first with Aloe Vera juice half mix with water, add condition and comb with a wide tooth comb first before using the 3-row comb. Doing this method, I now have a lot less breakage.

On all the videos I’ve seen, it has the same effect on type 4 hair as the denman brush: frizzy roots, defined ends. That’s why I prefer the Dickey method.
What is the Dickey method??
I discovered you (and a few others) with the same hair texture, length etc which is really exciting because i started of with little to no knowledge of my hair and all the tutorials i followed would be for a loose curl pattern, something i don’t have. Now tbh it’s probably because youtube recommended you through youtubers i already follow but it’s still a step in the right direction

ItsKhadijah ! my actual hair strands are fine but i have a lot of hair, id describe my curl pattern as c’s and tight coils around my ears. To find your texture just look at a strand of hair and if you can’t feel it very well or it appears ‘thin’ then you have fine hair but i think looking up a hair texture chart will help

I used it in my twa a few weeks ago along with the denman brush , I like the denman better but I don’t use hair tools now because I get less frizz & my curls clump better without

I have low/med density, normal porosity and predominately 4a curls and my hair hates aloe😭i like the AIA coil defining jelly, wetline and eco krystal for gels. These can be crunchy but i stretch my hair which breaks the cast... and gel suggestions really vary based on the type of wash n go you go for.

I always use Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic as a gel, then I top it with Innersense I Create Volume, and on high humidity days I also add Trepadora Papaya Slip.
My hair is baby fine but EXTREMELY high density, normal porosity, tight curl and A LOT of shrinkage but I like that 🤷🏽♀️

Girl, you’re the only person that says “also too” and it’s not like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.
Anyway, I love my 3 row comb. It clumps the mess out of my curls but it seems like my hair turns into that awkward length after the TWA (hair a smidge past shoulders) as dries.

I have 3C/4A, high porosity, low density, fine strands. Butttt thx to my momma my hair tangles, knots and nests. I 💘 my 3 row comb. I feel like I lose less hair then with my Denman brush

think I have 4a/b hair...for my wash and go I've been using Camille Rose milk and curl maker (original one) but my go to for wash and go is the creme of nature argan oil mousse. Ecostyler - meh I haven't played around with it enough. I have to try the lavender one next!
When its dry you should use an afro pick to fluff the foots.

The Mane Choice Biotin infused gel does it for my Curls ! Has the curl pattern in the back of your hair changed? The curls seem looser but always popping. You have one of the best personalities on YT!!

I love your wash and go videos! Have you ever heard of a brand called Hydra? They have a gel called The Curlformer and I’m curious to see how it work on your texture since it is similar to mine. It’s more on the high end (I think $21 for an 8oz jar).
I don't remember seeing a video where you mentioned it, but what is your porosity?
I just got that comb last week and I don't care for it. It does not get the roots and I still have to shingle making it and extra step. The shrinkage is extra real because the roots are still puffy. It usually takes 50 minutes to and hr for me to do a wash and go and with that comb it took me an additional 25 minutes smh. I'm still trying to find a purpose for the comb. I guess if I wanted to do a puff and define the ends, it can possibly help with that but I do fine with my hands and it is more gentler than a tool that might get caught in some resistance and risk breakage so 🤷🏽♀️

Great video. Glad I found your channel. I have use that comb and the first time I did I used it the way you did and got the same results and I was so disappointed because it only defined the ends of my hair and left the middle frizzy and the wash and go did not last that long. Now i use to detangle when I put the leave in conditioner on prior to my my styler and it works better. In no longer need the brush. I am a type 4b.

I just added gel to my washday, I actually like the Eco Olive Oil gel, I think it works well. Did you apply leave in under it? I did that and it works well for me, the gel alone doesn’t have enough moisture to hydrate my hair.

I have a natural hair question ... i recently did a big chop and the lady who cut my hair said that my ends would take about a year to fully curl up . so it still looks like i have relaxed ends . i just wanted another opinion . so basically my question is should i still have straight ends ?
