This is lesson #3 in my Swingin' The Blues series, and in it I cover some uptempo swinging lines in the style of Ronnie Earl. The lesson is based on a solo Ronnie plays over the T-Bone Boogie, an absolute must see performance!!! If you're interested in the full lesson package click the link above. It comes with tab and standard notation for 24 bars of the lead ideas (at beginning of this video) and 24 bars of rhythm ideas (end of this video).
David Blacker is definitely the official king of swing......blues!! This little number is deceptively tough but as always, D.B. brings it all nicely together and patiently explains the timing and various rhythm ideas in bite-sized pieces!! Anyone who really wants to aim for guitar playing greatness and stand out from the rest of the guitarist crowd needs to pay attention to all of David Blacker's courses and lessons!! His Swing Blues Survival Guides are must have but I still lean to his older 'West Coast Blues" classic course as my favorite in this very upbeat and fun style of playing!! Jim C.
