Tesla Model 3 Highland Review - 1st Impressions

- Zach Shahan and David Havasi take a drive in a new Tesla Model 3 Highland. What's different about it from the 2019 Model 3 SR+ and 2019 Model 3 Long Range that Zach and David have? A lot is different, but most notably, it is a MUCH smoother, more comfortable, and quieter ride!!
The singing and opening and closing the window for the sound test is too funny 🤣
The best cabin, noise test/ review ever!!!😂😊 👏🏼
Impressive sound insulation! I would say that road noise is a weak point on my 2018 Model 3, and I'm happy so see that Tesla addressed that issue extremely well!
My god, what an amazing voice!
He worked on Broadway for years before moving to Tesla :D
@@ZacharyShahan Ahh! That explains a lot! I recognized his voice was trained (my brother is also a singer but was in London West End musicals).
He was directed by Mike Nichols too.
@@JakeRichardsong how did you know?!?
@@ZacharyShahan In his LinkedIn.
Great 1st impressions of the refresh Model 3. Funny too.
Came for the Tesla review, stayed for the singing. Songbird of our generation
You'll have to do the Ace Ventura test on each car and edit together some back to back comparisons
Yes, I realized that later ...
Great overview of the new 3 David and Zach! May have to upgrade my 2018 m3p for the new performance when it comes out
You should give one a test drive!
also there is a drive selector near the read light above you. just in case the screen goes out. i just use that to drive select but it also remembers where you are and know if it needs to go into drive or reverse on its own.
i sure was gettin a kick out of the windows!
If ever the screen is unavailable for whatever reason, one is not left blocked because of the lack of stalks. There are illuminated icons of PDRN on top next to the emergency light knob. Tesla design and planning are not that ignorant
Good job guys, Davids wife needs to sing instead of David. I drove the new 3 and it is super quiet and great suspension, feels like a Rolls Royce quiet.
LOL. True
It's the rear doors that got laminated glass. Front doors already have.
So glad i got the dual motor
Frameless windowed doors will never have the same thunk as framed doors.
I thought the active headlights weren’t enabled here in the USA yet?
They are not.
@@laloajuria4678 4:53 they say they are, maybe he just means that they WILL be? are they technically capable but limited in software? or do we get different hardware than in the EU?
what about vs model Y in terms of sound insulation?
Hello. I didn’t see the bio defense button on the climate control screen. 12:00 Is it gone on these new models? My only experience is very limited time with a Model Y AWD. So I’m not sure if all models/trims have it. TIA for any additional shared info.
The bioweapon defense mode is only available for the Model S, X, and Y as the Model 3 isn't large enough to house the HEPA filter. Hope this is helpful :)
Yes, it does. Thx!
This is good to know. I was trying to figure out which do I want when my lease is up in a year. Y or 3 but I really want that feature. So Y it is.
My other half just got a Y a few days ago and what a great experience so far.
😉👍
That model Y in the beginning sucks at parking 😂😂 I think I had a birthday watching them try to park
👌👌
That's not how music copyright works. You can sing, play or record any song. As long as it's your own original performance and it's not for sale. You can also put it on UA-cam as much as you like. You just can't use somebody else's recording without their permission.
Once somebody releases a song in the public anyone else can play it or sing it or record it. If it's for sale then you just have to pay a royalty to the performance rights society which is just a few cents per unit sold. Even if you don't pay, nobody will bother you unless you're earning millions.
UA-cam won't let you put ads in a video if it identifies a copyrighted song - even if it's in the background somewhere not featured in the video or sung well enough by someone.
@@ZacharyShahan That would be against international copyright laws. You can't put the original recording of let's say the Beatles "Yesterday". But if you record it yourself that is perfectly legal as long you pay the statutory royalty to a performance rights society such as BMI. Same goes for your own recording of Beethoven's "For Elise" or any other classical composer except there you don't have to pay a royalty because it has expired and is in the public domain.
UA-cam just automatically detects it. Maybe there's an appeal process, but I don't feel like appealing UA-cam AI decisions and hoping a human hears my plea@@konixtwenty8275
But, yes, something in the public domain should be fine.
Predatory cat lights LOL
Soundtest 😂😂😂😂 omg 😂
Some of the new features are overhyped. I have the new model 3 and rolled over from an old model 3. Interior is not much quieter. Suspension doesn’t feel any softer than the old and indicator buttons sometimes get sticky and don’t work
What year was your previous Model 3? Zach and I both felt significant improvements in NVH and ride quality between the new Model 3 and our 2019 Model 3s.
Yeah I’m. Surprised…..the difference is quiet noticeable l. Suspension is day and night.
Was going to ask the same as David. It is a dramatically better car compared to our 2019 versions.
I understand Tesla has hidden " buttons" to operate the "gears" if the center display fails. That you do no know this is revealing. Not interested in the rest of your "review".
ah, yes, forgot those were there in the heat of the moment.
