I love how Canadian they are
Hockey is such a wonderful sport in large, large part for the culture that lives inside of it. It does seem like a very stereotypical "Canadian" culture. Its most often just some guys that love a game and forget they are adults and the game is really serious. Its very hard to explain. But its like they are all raised to appreciate the game, the occasion of what there doing, the work they put into it and the friendships they make in it.
Its like they all know what actually matters in life. While humble enough to thank the game for their lives. Instead of thinking the game should thank them.
Its a really amazing sport, Culture and community. The other sports seem to have aloooot to learn from hockey.
The Collegiate wrestling community in America seems to possess some of those qualities as well? From the outside looking in.

to my fellow hughes peoples from down here in the dirty dirty south in my home state of north carolina. nothing personal in that series,its just that yall are still wet behind the ears and your best days are still ahead and carolina has seasoned players who are being great teachers and leading by example to show the younger up and coming players how to utilize their talents in the best ways possible for the corresponding situations.

CoKo A that’s not true at all. It’s *most Americans watch football and basketball more* yeah obviously it’s not a major sport to PLAY. But it is still watched. There are 4 major sports leagues in the U.S. hockey stands 4th. A non major sports league in a country would have no fans what’s so ever. You would only see empty arenas with teams who SUCK. Or Florida. Look at the New England area, plus a bit below and next to it. Hockey is BIG. ALmost as big as Canada if you ask me. Look at how many teams are in that area compared to the rest of the nhl. And as for the south. They all really honestly do watch hockey, but only if their teams are good. With the exception of Florida. (Except Tampa bay has fans though). And California is the same thing. Everybody loves hockey and talks about it when the kings are in the finals, but once they suck 99 percent of these drunk idiots don’t even know wtf it is lmao.
CoKo A an example of a non major league in the U.S is the MLS. Occasional sell outs. But nobody talks about their team making a championship or whatever. Nobody knows it even happens.

So much talk about Hughes, yet almost nothing anywhere about Kakko. It's insane how much your nationality has to do with it all. If Kakko was north american, things would be completely different, and the boys club at NJD might not take Hughes. Then again I'd much rather see Kakko with a proper franchise like NYR. MSG is going to see something awesome for years to come.

Also this has nothing to do with American versus a foreign player. If that was the case the Devils would not have selected Swiss born Nico Hishier first overall 2 years ago with the number 1 pick. Why the Devils will select Hughes is that NHL scouts have had Hughes rated as the consensus #1 pick for the last 2 years and the NHL values the position of center more so than they do a wing.
