Stier is a legend.
that was a really dramatic hammer stroke though!
Watching the conductor is entertaining enough (:
While it is possible that the audio is out of sync, it is common for conductors at this level to be ahead of the beat. These accomplished musicians know the notes and tempos inside and out; it is one of the conductor's least important jobs to keep time. Many conductors feel comfortable when the ensemble plays at the top of the baton's arc, not at the lowest point. Also, it is possible that the microphone is set a considerable distance from the ensemble, causing a very small delay between the visuals and sound.
surely keeping time is still an important job for a conductor... realistically most orchestras could simply play themselves, but it seems like the conductor is necessary to unify the sound given that different sections may be very slightly out of sync from the audiences perspective
Parece que el Director empezó a sentir el abrumador peso de la sinfonía. Es que es una pieza colosal.
It's absolutely painful for me!
OMG
I agree with Tyler, painful....
I never can understand why people who video concerts always keep the camera on the conductor. He is not the one making the sound. And, this one needs a straight jacket.
@christocretes My, my. Aren't we angry. So my comment deserves to be chewed up and spit back in my face? I simply commented that the video kept the camera on the conductor and did not show the musicians. No one said that the conductor should not be shown, but that the entire effort requires both conductor and orchestra. Music making is a collaborative effort. Would you photograph La Gioconda and show only her smile?
Audio track is out of sync
