Sorry about the detour through the burn area. It used to be nice, but a big fire burnt through there in 2013. I hope you enjoyed Subway Cave (and turned off all light when you got in a ways to experience total darkness). I hope your hike from Burney Falls to Castella was nice. When I hiked through there in 2015 it was a hot miserable slog between Rock Creek and Butcher Knife Creek. Water was at a premium that year. I plan to do some trail magic this Saturday, July 1, but it sounds like I missed you. Enjoy the hike. Castella north to the Oregon border was gorgeous in 2015, though snow might be an issue this year.
aww, is lots burnt. I was in BSA early in Nor Cal and Seen that. I Envy you for see that. As I remember mine, was still many down trees. just not burnt and bare. Even in the lakes was maneuver around those trees. jeepers, that was like when I was like age born - I was maybe 9 years old doing those "Segments". I remember Philmont Trip folk made me pull out all and weigh packed. 80 some odd miles as a 10 year old is pretty cool, but are just memories to me now, So* Miss Kick ASS, TY for This and All your wonder. Jeesh, I just remember walking out them logs with a ~32lb pack, as a child; like it was nothing. 70's was nice time up north. If ya get a Chance to side for a "Lumberjack" fest? I'd Go! I grew up that stuff and forestry and Fire. I am SO Glad I had an Early Chance, to see Earths Beauty, but her You ARE ! Showing All this beauty. and p.s. I saw Early vids of you when Started. I was actually worried for your nose. But? Obviously your Body has adapted. I seen many skin Burn on the Slops of Nor Sierras. ya actually pass right by me. I see many of ya surly in Tehachapi for your po and recomp trips. I trip from town or back as I go and have room between my dog and all the stuff I have for work. once I ported a kool cat from town back to Catch Creek for North, made it home in Sand Canyon and seen guy left his wad and cards. UGGG. so, I saw was a card, his Dads. Was a Los Vegas Detective. ( LOL ) so I called him and said what had happened, and was a 3 party transfer but? He was raised via cell and alerted of the mishap. I drove back to weigh Station there, and watched dude Run* cross country back down that segment in the dark. I could see his headlamp, surly slid down some. He said, he dropped his pack and immediately trekked it to meeting site. I can Imagine the loss and hope he got far or finished. was early seasion he was. Any WaYS, Hope ya all don't mind me rambling on about how cool this is' the Wonderful Nor Cal and well, On UP ! I could spend a month exploring LNP alone. Are the Lava Tunnels still Opened? WOW That was So Cool. Flashlights didn't do nothing. and the ecoes. Nice! (again ty for reminding me of these Memories) From Chico, I grew up closer to Lassen but maybe someday explore Shasta more. I remember on one segment, was so fatigued I hit a lean on a tree. pack still on and just took a min before I saw an AnT. And swated it off my Arm. next I knew I was feel stinging all over. I can only do segments I can Bring a pack mule or a horse. They need experience it too and carry some goods as I will have my plastic string Yamaha classical guitar; to interpit the Sounds of "THERE" ! HAHA
Just finished this stretch today - there are about 2 miles of snow from where it starts to where it ends (very very patchy), and almost all of it you can walk around if you want to.. didn't need spikes or anything extra... apart from that the trails really nice for this stretch
You're videos are def getting better and better. What were you chasing our of your tent? A bee? lol What is the sleeping bag that keeps tearing on you? Sorry if you've mentioned it before. On a side note - neither you or CB has mentioned if anyone found the tiny figures you put in others packs. Have they found them yet?
Leanne Scott it was a bee.. the sleeping bag is enlightened equipment - I haven't mentioned the name mostly because their customer service has always been really good after the incidents and no one else whose had the bags that I've hiked with have ever had any issues... as for the toys in the packs, they've all found them and caught onto us.. there's still a tiny penguin in circulation but i think the rest have been trashed by now
Charlotte Buer I did not.. we camped 4 miles into the park at a campground with bear bins that we used, and the next day we hiked to Hat Creek to camp - outside of the park.
My wife and I were hiking out and back N on the PCT. when we returned I noticed your Hawaiian shirt, I thought you were the girl in chocolate balls video.
Videography getting better and better. Enjoying these!
Great video Juliana! We Love You!!!!!

Michael Burgess Burney falls to castella was really nice for us .. loved the downhills, and the uphill parts were all shaded ... tons of water too!

Ultra light pack worthy guitar?
Love these videos JuJu! Caves are scary. And stay away from bears, please!
Hi Laverne, where did Shirley go? Enjoying your videos and editing style. You say a lot with your clips and commentary thanks for continuing to post.
Would love to know how Burney to Castella section is. Planning on hiking it ASAP but not keen on any snow.

Awesome, thank you for the reply!

lol sharing the penguin - I can only imagine the stories it could tell!
Your videos are getting better. What brand of sleeping ripped on you twice?
Hi Juliana! Awesome video. Keep up the good work 😊 I was just wondering if you carried a bear can throughout Lassen National Park?
Charlotte Buer I did not.. we camped 4 miles into the park at a campground with bear bins that we used, and the next day we hiked to Hat Creek to camp - outside of the park.
Tip: When panning a view go a bit slower so the viewer can take it in. Good scene selection.
My wife and I were hiking out and back N on the PCT. when we returned I noticed your Hawaiian shirt, I thought you were the girl in chocolate balls video.
Bruce Jones sounds like me!
Juliana Chauncey in the video you two were hiding little people in hikers things. Good luck and stay safe. 👍
If you see bear cubs, worry about mama bear. Do not get between a mama and her cubs.
not smart to cross any river with your hipbelt on, according to the scout manual
Naked hiker day and no selfie stick video....another ginger fail. 😜😜
