Dude I’m glad you are doing something you enjoy . I never really thought about rock hounding, looks like fun .
It is, modern day treasure hunt
Like a kid in a candy store....awesome ...good times!!!!
It literally is modern day treasure hunt
Hey I was just wondering what the road to the mine looks like. We have a rental and it is very low to the ground.
The road is traversable by just about any vehicle as long as the weather there is not terrible is the weather has rained considerably you better have four-wheel-drive
Sharks teeth!!!!! Can’t wait to go to the coast for magladon
Yeah I don’t get into collecting everything myself a fancy crystals and other rocks that have geometric forms
Hi Guys, glad to see ya found something!!! I found those you left on my running boards on my camper. It was nice meeting you 2. Krusty says Hi!!! Well if ya get out this way again. ( hopefully when it's cooler ) hope to see ya all again!!!
Nice find Jay. 👍👍👍👍
Ty bro
Glad you found the motherload.
Bout time man
Howdy jay, nice to see you again
As well good to c u persey
Nice haul man! I’m headed out tomorrow with the fam to dig crystals. Was at Ron Coleman last weekend and it was a disappointment . Seems like more times than not we don’t really find much to make it worth it. Going to try this place tomorrow …
I was only ever at Ron Coleman’s twice and first time absolutely sucked. Definitely a waste of money the second time, however, was well worth it.
I’ve never had a bad time at the spot. It’s actually my favorite spot in Arkansas
The guy who runs magma rockhounding wrote a book called 53 best gem collecting sites in western North Carolina.... great book, find old mines that have been taken over by the national forest
I’m here now but in the coast
Good vid Jay! Nice finds!±
Thank you - I like this spot
Cool channel Bud 😎👍💯🇺🇸⛏️
Ty
I was just in that area 2 weeks ago , almost went to Twin Creeks but the roads leading to mine were very low maintenance roads and I questioned whether my car would make it , so I went to Ron Coleman's instead
How did u make out in Ron’s my self I didn’t do well there and I was there I think like 2 weeks ago, the roads were rough due to rain
@@JayDrone I am very happy with what I found , nothing huge or spectacular , just alot of nice little crystals , the biggest was probably the size of my pinky . Already wanting to go back , just wish it wasn't an 11 hour drive from where I live
I heard the machine digs there are insane. A couple of us are going out for trilobites & gastropods next weekend in Blair county... when are you gonna be heading north?
I’m in North Carolina now
I love it all, I have picked up neat pieces of coal
Thank you fro your video ... no poop piles for me:) I am training to pick two mines in the area to focus on. Was thinking Twin Creek, Sweet Surrender and paying for a private pocket at Avant $250
Any advise or comments would help... have not collected in AR so really not sure what to do. thanks ALL
I’ve been to sweet surrender but it was about 12 years ago. It was the best location I collected at
Sweeeeet
Yesir
Do you remember how much it costs for a private pocket? Thanks for the videos about the mines in the area :D
u bet im from pa - i enjoyed my time in this state - th pockets range in price depending on ur wants
i did $25 dig and found so much
The pockets start at $300 and go up to $1000+. I just did a $500 dig there and got 5 large buckets of large water clear points and clusters. That was 2 weeks ago and I’m still going thru everything! Honestly the $300 dig is more than enough to fill a rockhound’s needs.
@@tonywoodard6348 how much digging do u have to do on a 300$ pocket? Are they poking from the walls? On the surface? Amy info would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of driving out from NC.
@@KC-zi2ci usually they will uncover the pocket. There will be a bunch of “pocket mud” that’s exposed and it’s simply just moving that mud to buckets. I wouldn’t waste too much energy picking individual crystals out of that. When that layer of clay is gone, you can use a hammer and chisel to get the next layer of sandstone off which will expose more “pocket mud”. Honestly, it all depends on how much labor you want to put into it. Plus, Bobby or someone else will help you out, too.
Hit us up, we have a place in South Carolina too!!! Within an hour of diamond hill& Purple Heart, amethyst, beryl, quartz& what not
We will have to do that next time I’m actually in South Carolina right now but I’m heading up to North Carolina
Nice, we should be living down there in may, should definitely get together... going to ace of diamonds for the first weekend, graves mountain in April too. Have you ever heard of a rockhounding group called magma?
@@diggingappalachia954 Never heard of that group and yes that would be cool to link up in South Carolina and do some rock hounding
Yeah, why not., we will be in Pennsylvania till may, South Carolina after that. Planning on going for herks up at ace of diamonds, graves mountain the third week of April . I have free weekends till then
If u like Herks check this dig out ua-cam.com/video/gktZfcCcpBw/v-deo.html
I’m planning on going to Arkansas in the fall when there’s ideal weather, and I was wondering if these are tailing or a private area
Private site u pay to dig in there mine not tailing piles like Ron Coleman’s
How much did it cost?
25$
Hi Alex, I finn from Murfreesboro Arkansas. Dude it's hot here till mid October. I a dam Yankee moved down here over 6yrs ago. I dig Crystal Vista. It's free, you meet people like Jay and his wife up there!!! ( sorry for waking you guys!!! Lol.) I haven't paid to dig yet. Too much to explore up on crystal Vista. I a norm up there with Lori, Wyoming, N.Mex, Rick and few others. Bring lots of water!!! Food if you going to spread the day. Remember this. It's a long hike up. Over a mile up!!! So don't over load yourself. Water is most important thing!!
I am curious what you found at coleman's. I went in about 1993 and it was unbelievable what you found. I have over a 50 lb single Crystal I found at Coleman's. Also some very nice plate clusters. I found probably twice the amount of all your crystals in just clear ones. In one day. The second time we went which was probably 2,000 we found some about like what you found and told them we were disappointed and they gave us a nice large plate cluster. It is sad to hear that it has gotten like you're saying. I am getting ready to make a trip to go Crystal digging would love any kind of insight you may have. Thanks a lot nice looking load by the way
I captured what I found on video you can watch it here ua-cam.com/video/RmfiH20vrcs/v-deo.html Literally driving down from Pennsylvania to the spot it was a huge disappointment and I wish I would’ve voice my opinion but I was mad
You get spoiled at Twin Creek
Agreed
I’ve never had Facebook or any of that, had a flip phone till last summer, we should go halves on a pocket together
If you are using a cell phone to record you need a mophie battery case it will double your filming.
Dude you can text me
I’m on here n Facebook - I don’t do typical texting
Dam j no drones
Not here
