- The M4A3 (105) in War Thunder is a Rank 2 Medium Tank for USA! Except, it's a 5.7 tank with a 2.7 gun?!?!
The M4A3 105 is an American Tank that for some reason has found its way to the low-low BR of 2.7! Yes, this is the famous Easy 8 chassis all the way down in Rank 2! However, instead of a gyro stabilised electric driven turret housing the 76mm gun... it has a HOWITZER in it!
That's right, a 105mm cannon that can fire HE and HEAT. Sure the reload is slow and the turret rotation speed is the same as the Earths orbit around the Sun... but the fact is this chassis is outstanding in comparison to the things it faces as low as 1.7!!!
The HEAT shell used to be really impressive and really packed a punch hitting really any tank you came up against. However, some recent changes to HEAT and Volumetric Shells seems to have cut its effectiveness down quiet a bit. The HEAT just doesn't have the HE part anymore and because the shell is so big, it seems to catch a lot of pieces of armour it shouldn't.
The Baby Jumbo in War Thunder is still SUPER fun to play. Just point your front plate at the bad guy and go for glory!

I'm so glad he put that 2 minutes of fuckery in there, its been broke as hell since the last 2 or 3 big updates. Including shooting in 3rd person when next to fences etc, you'll aim at the enemy directly, and your bullet goes over there head but ONLY if you were next to/looking over a fence/breakable. EDIT: I also forgot, the aiming vertically is jacked now too, sometimes I'll be driving around barrel centered, then I hit a bump or turn turret and all the sudden I need to aim up, but I never aimed down.

I have no idea why this thing is 2.7, but while it remains there I'm damn well gonna continue to abuse it. That 2.7 lineup with the M8a1 and P40F10 with others is pretty monstrous too

I do, it's because gaijin for some reason thinks stabilisers are the absolute end all to tank combat, hence why the 76 Sherman's are at an unfair br. Basically if they increase the br of this then they're saying a stabilizer doesn't warrant a .6 br increase anymore so they'd lower 76 Sherman's BR which means they're not kissing Germany's ass anymore and they just can't have that

19:05 Finally someone who has the same issue of having certain keys switch shell types, launch smoke, etc. I couldn't find any info about it anywhere and thought I was losing my mind
I've hit it before and made mention of it, Gaijin care not. There are other weirdo input bugs, like bomb release switching camera..
I was confused when I found out that when I'm shooting mgs and loading atgm the game changes my ammo to apfsds. Luckily I have to shoot mgs which I don't do very often

"who has names like that? How do you remember that?" Myself and a buddy have a theory that those are internet cafe players from countries who's alphabets aren't displayable in game. So if you see one in a game with 2 prem top tiers, be ready for them to get 1 kill and 4 deaths.
Hell ya, showing the frustration sometimes shows the amount you care. Your best video to date not because you got 10 kills in a game or freaked out but it showed the real struggle that we all struggle with. 🙂👍

I don’t know what to think of this game anymore. I can’t play on console anymore because when it’s cross platform any PC player had multiple advantages including higher frames lower ping and more use of controls.
i picked up War thunder on xbox a couple months back and ultimately invested in a keyboard and mouse for my xbox. The difference is night and day to how playable it is.
@@fredrogers838 my brother switched to MnK and that's the only controls he use when playing WT, I'm planning on getting a keyboard cuz the Xbox controller pisses me off so much
@@GoldCraft55 If you really like the game I say go for it. The mouse scroll wheel can let you zoom in your gunner sights which is something I didn't know was possible at all with a controller.
@@fredrogers838 right now I zoom in on "x" but I need to combine buttons to do other stuff like for example when I use binoculars I pres LB+Y and on "LB" I have machine guns and on "Y" I have sniper sight, so I sometimes shot a machine gun bullet wich could give my ambush spot useless cuz the enemy wont peek if they see machine gun put a bullet in their way.

Lol firing machine guns has done all sorts of things, from switching ammo types, bringing up my arty screen, popping smoke grenades and ESS to scouting nothing as well!

That is true it is definitely a baby jumbo .. hopefully they add a bulldozer to it :). Volumetric shells help me out . For me volumetric rounds work good especially with the over pressure mechanics

What's not to like about the 105 Sherman? One of the slowest turrets in game, An unforgiving reload that takes 3 times as long as other tanks at the BR, You start out using HE not HEAT, and Swedish APDS that doesn't care about its "frontal armor". They're not the only ones either. 2.7 is about the right spot. Remember you will face 3.7 tanks too.

The PZ IV F1 with 5cm tends to do the same things like you shown in higher Br. I just overally think there is something wrong with the HEAT shells. Fired 5 Shots at Stuart... Got bounces and One shell eaten by Optic.

always had good luck using he, and keeping a few heat as backup. only problem is heavily armored targets apear out of nowhere and now I need to reload.

Spaded this thing in just two games by charging the enemy spawn and using the 50 cal. Bounced so many shots. It’s absolute insane.
imo this thing is completely OP.
I love this thing, i remember holding off almost half of the enemy team like they piling up in front of me cant do anything until a flak 88 bus came in and one shot me lol!
I think you’re the only person that laughs when you get rekt, I always get frustrated, and also, I think you should show games that go bad (if there are any)
I have some bad games and I have shown them, but if I leave a game out (even a really good one) it's because my commentary was terrible or some other bug happened, I got team killed or something like that.

You mentioned light tank meta with speed, stabilizers and fast reloads. But my favorite tank right now is the AMX-13 FL11, which only really checks the light box. Not sure why I'm doing so good with it, maybe all the Germany players underestimate it as it waddles towards them.

It probably has a smoke mortar because it was classified as an assault gun/SPG, I think. Could be wrong.
yeah from time to time I get the same issue with ammo switching when Spacebar is pressed

LOL...it always cracks me up when guys think they have pulled out of LOS, but the nose or butt of the tank is sticking out :D I'm probably one of the worst at that, actually. Reminds me of the old ostrich sticking it's head in the ground meme :D

Oh i know exactly how you feel about the volumetric update. Died some times because the sub caliber shell got caught up with a metal plate of a dead tank in front of me ( ca. 1-2 Meter) and just disappeared. Then i die. It is the most grastest feeling you can have.

You should play the M8, the stuart with a 75mm howitzer. Its 50. cal is even more potent.
The secret to fighting the M4 (105) is:
1. Hide behind brush/trees
2. Exploit the 13 second reload and push for the flanks
90% of 105 players in AB are just cannon fodder.
Check out the M3 Lee or Grant! Both are an absolutely blast to play and have a super unique play style. I think you'd dig it
