    When i would going for mushrooms and i would see a person sneaking with a assault rifle in the fog, i would call the police. We would see a major police serious operation and a swat team. In Germany. What is wrong with you US americans?

      I'm going to pin this, because I think it outlines a very interesting rift in society.
      More socially progressive places seem to dislike the liberty of common people while claiming the contrary.
      Social conservatives seem to desire judiciously applied liberty equally for all while being accused of the contrary.

    take my rifle ? I take a Remington 870 shotgun with 24 inch barrel . Why ? because coyotes have come after my dog on 5 separate occasions . I walk lonely trails no one else does . Why ? Because I can .People who understand need no explanation , people who don't understand will never know . Be safe ,

    went hunting one day and ended up on a hiking trail on the way back to my truck. ran into two girls that looked to be collage age, and as i passed them they asked me what the gun was for and i said that i just liked to carry a firearm with me while in the woods. one said oh big man hu. some people just dont understand, better to have one if you need it than to not have one.

      Never a bad thing to remind folks that not everyone out on hiking trails has good intentions.
      My parents were out for a hike when they were younger and my dad ran quite a bit ahead of her. This went on for about 20 minutes and she was trying to catch up when he popped out from behind a tree, wrapped his arms around her and told her to try and get free. She couldn't. This woman is tough, very strong for her size. But no match for a man. She learned a lot that day and I really appreciate how my dad gave that lesson. It can happen in an instant. Being more aware and prepared for these situations is essential for taking your own safety serious.

      @@timberfallingcouple Reminds me of 24 yr old Meredith Emerson, who had studied martial arts for several yrs, but was kidnapped and murdered by a 61 yr old drifter. He fought her into submission. He also murdered an elderly couple who were hiking and another woman who was also hiking.
      Even though I am a physically fit male with fighting skills I never travel in the woods without an appropriate firearm.

    When I go for walks, I don't take a full kit unless it's very cold out. Summer time it's a small pack with an emergency blanket, a couple of fruit bars, matches, and cotton covered in wax for a fire starter. You know? The basics. Normally, it's a pistol, and my Chiappa M6 shotgun/.22 rifle combo. Or my .308 or 300. Rifle. And I live in North Idaho for big game reference.

      It's definitely a good lesson in how dangerous it is to perform patrols, react to contact exercises etc compared to how easy it is to ambush patrolling forces.

    I love to walk the woods quietly, just watching and recording. I carry my Trapper lever action rifle, short and competent. Having your rifle along means you are not afraid of predators in the woods....you are one. Sorry but leave the dog home for another time. It will scare away game and give away your position. Get out of the middle of the road, hug the trees, walk amongst them. Stop every 10 steps and just be still, blend in. It is fine being an American.

      There is a deep and long standing argument in USA and much of the west over whether The People should be armed, or entrust the government with our safety.
      And then another argument exists as to whether the people should be allowed to have weapons of war, or just basic self defense weapons.
      And then yet another argument exists as to whether semi automatic rifles are weapons of war alongside automatic weapons, or if they are just semi auto rifles.
      A lot to unpack in western neo-marxist vs neo-conservative behavior.
      I believe in freedom for all and I believe in holding men [and women] accountable ONLY for the harm that they do to others or their property.
      I do not believe in preemptively suspending liberty in any way for any sort of attempt to "prevent crime"

    Love your content and agree, and know your walk was for the video, but personally, i never use my weapons scope to determine what i am looking at. If its pointed i am ready to pull the pin on a identified object.
    It all comes from a elk hunting incident in a mountain slide. I came out near the top of a slide on a evening hunt, and witnessed a guy 200 yds, looking at me, through his shouldered rifle, waved my arms looked at him again still did not drop his rifle, so i shouldered up, in a knee squat pulled off the safety, and put his chest dead centre. He saw that and quickly dropped his rifle down and moved on. If he accidently/purposefully shot me, two bodies would be found on that mountain. The big city boys would usually shoot each other about once every two or three years.
    Your foggy day reminds me great way to see a old big whitetail buck moving about to find his does.
    Thanks for your video efforts

    I'm a bit too suburban for taking my rifle for walks. Tends to frighten the horses, so to speak. But I'm always armed. You should probably carry binos for identifying objects, pointing a rifle at someone to get ID is a no-no.

    We just recently obtained a little property and have some sketchy trees in want rid of ... im gonna try n do it myself ,I need a bigger chainsaw I have a little still ms180 with a 16in bar ... it has no power and might do better with a smaller bar ... not sure ... I need a 20-24 bar for some of the bigger stuff ...what kind of saw would you recommend? I'm debating between stihl or huskavarna... (I feel like I spelled that wrong) lol

    • @timberfallingcouple
      @timberfallingcouple  День тому

      Man, I might be the wrong person to ask. I have a very strong bias against stihl, and I have zero experience with the new autotuned huskies. I'd recommend a 372 to a person who is experienced at maintenance, but pretty much any manufacturer who makes a saw in the power class you're looking for, probably 70cc or so, will probably get the job done just fine.

      @timberfallingcouple awesome thanks for the reply ... why do you not like stihl? ...im starting my own bias against them lol ... im forever working on this thing ...like an old Harley 😂😅 I clean the plug every other day...air filter daily ...ive had the exhaust off n disassembled trying to get better air flow ...it's getting better , but still no real power ...im running nothing but canned engineered fuel ... it sat n wasn't used ( I couldn't get it to start) for like a year till I tried canned gas ...im thinking I gotta tear off n clean the carb 🤷‍♂️ ...and buy a better saw

    • @timberfallingcouple
      @timberfallingcouple  День тому

      @nomadsland5078 yeah my issues with stihl has been against their engineering department. They have been engineering the most chintzy machines possible. All of the common breakage points are weaker than ever before. Things are mounted to the machine in a goofy way and on plastic tabs. The carbs are not good.
      But if you look to my comments section there are thousands of people whove had no pro lems at all. I think my problems are subjective, because I expect the new stuff to be at least as durable as a ms660 or as durable as an equivalent husqvarna and they are quite simply not.
      I felt like I scammed myself buying them against my better judgment.
      But the tough one is, I can not vouch for the durability of any of the 5 series huskies either. If I remember correctly there was a 585 that was very similar to 385. But I don't even know if they make it anymore, and I'm fairly certain the 390, 372, and 395 are all getting discontinued.
