This video is about how jeongmi gotten closer after sixteen as they did not speak to each other for 1.5 years prior to that. I had initially wanted to do a short video on this but it ended up being a long video once I started to look through sixteen videos. Hope you will enjoy it!

That kind of the reason why Mina so depending towards Jeongyeon and why she always addressing Jeongyeon as Unnie even after all this time..

I think Mina ever said that (If I'm not wrong its on variety show) the reason she is never call Jeongyeon by her name (even thou they actually on the same age in korea) is because Mina get use to look Jeongyeon as Unnie, as member claim, Mina use to try to address Jeongyeon by her name just like the others member but it ain't last long and Mina back to call Jeongyeon as Unnie..
Jeongyeon too use to urge Mina to call her by just her name not Unnie, but i think Jeongyeon grow a soft spot to Mina so she let Mina call her as Unnie..
another thing is, i think i've ever heard that Mina said she always wants an Unnie that she can depend on, sure there is our lovely madeonni Nayeon who her shoulder always ready for any member who needs it, but Jeongyeon really cares about others that she never hesitate to nagging others even for the small things. Mina ever said that Jeongyeon nagging too much but she kinds of like it since it will keep her organize.
@@U_Dhee I understand the feeling of wanting an older sister figure so much. I am the eldest kid in the family so I always have to look out for my siblings and cousins. I kinda liked it at first because I viewed my age as an advantage I had over the younger ones in my family but also somewhat of a burden since I get tired taking care of them too. I wondered what it would feel like to have an older sister look out for you but it's not like I was desperate for one, I was happy with my life. So when I was in high school and I was introduced to and befriended a senior older than me by two years, I found I actually loved having someone I can finally call "manang" (term from my Filipino dialect for older females). My personality is different towards her too like you wouldn't think I was actually an elder sibling because I loved being babied by her.
I've had friends older than me by a year or even a grade higher than me but I never refer to them as elders. You might think it was disrespectful but they were my friend group and I was close to them and I hung out all the time with them that I saw them as my equals (like how Jihyo doesn't refer to Jeongyeon, Momo, and Sana as "unnies").
But jeongyeon literally in sixteen she did not stood out 0:24 and made her cry 1:12 , she wouldn't have cried if there wasn't like this thing with jeongyeon and her, let's be honest no matter how much they have a bond, that comment must have hurt her and probably stills hurts remembering since they developed a friendship later, it's not like they are not allowed to be human or feel some things or be always close cause they're twice.
@@moonlightespt3818 Sixteen was a competition and Jeongyeon is known to be blunt. She wasn't the only who said something about other contestants either. Mina proved her wrong and I'm sure she regrets saying that. And aren't people allowed to change? It's not like Jeongyeon does that until now. If Mina still had hard feelings over a comment she said when they weren't friends yet, they wouldn't be able to develop a close relationship in the first place.
i always think the reason twice and sixteen were so successful is bc they made a group that worked well together but each girl had something special abt them. like how jyp kept dahyun bc of her humor and charm, brought back momo bc of her dance etc., but i think they also made sure to see how the girls interacted with each other and saw great friendships and potential for friendships. there’s so many groups that obviously aren’t close but through the years twice has just gotten closer and closer
Last night I discovered a channel where the girl who runs it researches and goes into depth about K-Pop groups and the industry. One of her videos was about how most Korean Idols aren't friends but must play it up for the cameras. While I'm certain that not _everyone_ in Twice are BFF's with each other, they seem to get along as a group better than most even off the clock and some are obviously good friends -- e.g. Jeongyeon & Mina, Nayeon & Momo.
And yes, JYP deciding to pull rank and bring Momo back for Twice is one of the best decisions ever made in the history of pop music. _He_ saw what those ugly judges and the guys who voted her off the show didn't. He took a chance on Tzuyu which paid off -- she's beyond gorgeous but I hope people will respect her for her genuine talents.

I definitely agree with this. I had a thought not too long ago and it seems that with some of these rookie groups as well as groups that contain many members you can literally see or feel the competition among them which doesn't make them enjoyable to watch. But, with twice I have never seen or felt that once because they are truly a family. And when you're pure at heart, good things will come to you. I do feel that some groups should work on that just so their chemistry can come off undeniable.
@@Hi-lz1ht Some members of BTS are known to dislike each other (don't know who b/c I don't follow them). They can still work together despite that.
JYPE's previous girl-groups, e.g. Miss A, fell apart due to one member being promoted over the others. Fear of that happening again may be why the company refuses to let Jeongyeon take acting roles.
I remember that Jeongyeon once make Mina crying bcs of her comment during sixteen... That's why she didn't want to tease Mina alot and being soft 🥰 my JeongMi ❤️
This is why I truly believe all the twice members are really close friends and care about each other. Because they’re willing to admit that in the past they may not have liked one of the others or been friends with them. They feel very authentic.
I really appreciate when Idols are allowed to admit they didn't get along. Even more if they can admit they still don't (unlike BTS, some of whom openly dislike each other but can still work, Twice seem to mostly get along very well). They are people with wildly different personalities and backgrounds, and this is their job. Maybe it's because I'm not Korean -- standards there are whacked -- but I appreciate Twice's extra bits of authenticity too. Feels less fake. 👍

I don’t think they ever disliked each other but Taehyung and Suga used to have a very strained relationship I believe. They’re personalities are so drastic they probably didn’t mesh well at the beginning. But after all these years they’re super close.

None of BTS openly dislike each other. I’m not sure where you got that from. It’s certainly happened in some groups but they’re one of the closest.

I had been rewatching Sixteen as well and discovered more about their personalities and friendship. It's kinda heart warming to see how far they all have come.

during their Doughnut special stage performance comes to mind here. It just shows how Jeongyeon can look to Mina for support in a time like that.
1.5 years is not surprising. Both JY and MN are shy and sensitive types and most probably wouldn't interact unless forced to, lol. Even Jihyo had to make the first move to befriend Jeongyeon back then. I am glad SIXTEEN exist so they and other Twice members' fate intertwines. I miss JeongMi very much. tysm for this!
I like watching this kind of friendship evolve. It's realistic & genuine, from being awkward & not speaking to alway hugging & comforting each other. Not the "oh we're bffs since pre-debut" fake hugs & kisses some groups try to display.
I think jeongyeon realized how soft of a person mina was & she felt like taking care of her. both of them are also interested in same hobbies & yeah they understand each other’s funny sides lol. love them so much my babies!!!
I'm glad that Mina and Jeongyeon get very close after debut. Jeongyeon is the only one in Twice who pranks on and teases Mina. Mina also scolds Jeongyeon a lot of times lol. Their relationship is very nice

jeongyeon said recently that it's hard for her to talk to new people so suddenly i guess in such a situation like sixteen she had to talk to mina even if she felt nervous about it, i'm glad they have such a close and nice relationship they share a lot of things in common like videogames legos and more. LOVING MY JEONGMIIIII
still to this day i can't explain why i love these girls so much.. to my friends and family it makes no sense but it's really not that complicated to me. sometimes there are people in life whose very existence brings you some kind of satisfaction, ya know? i won't even say happiness because i wouldn't call myself a happy person but i know whenever i see clips of twice members just being themselves it always puts a smile on my face. and i really couldn't ask for much more than that :D
Now THIS is some high quality research of a rare facet/relationship in Twice. At this point in my Once career it's not often that I add new videos to my Twice playlist simply because I've seen it all, but this one is a refreshing take and is going straight in pronto
Watching the interaction between them, it shows how it can be hard to connect with someone sometimes. I always wonder how they manage to keep up good bond with one another in such a large group. I remember having to do a project with a group of 7 individuals, and it was so hard to talk to everyone, lol. It's great to see their growth.

This is the reason why this girls get the love of the fans, they show the personality of these girls in every side of life they are build with unity and affection that's why they still stay as 9. Imagine if they are not strong as a group and friendship for sure other of them tries to be soloist or leave the group.

And 15 + 1 = 16 sooo yeah
And if you happen to know TooGrown (Kpop Reactor), he was addressing the show SIXTEEN as "15+1" for some reason, so maybe he/she got it from him.

I did the same thing in high school. I literally did not know people that I went to school with for years until I was a senior. And then I became friends with them when we had a class together.

When I first saw the thumbnail of this video after two days it got uploaded, I thought it isn't worth watching but after getting recommendation for a few times I decided to watch it and let me tell you this the best decision I made and my favorite part of this video was the last part where it shows all the photos of jeonyeon and mina together. It really reminded me of the show sixteen. It really me feel happy 😊.

It surprises me that most of the members of twice are introverts, I think that's why the girls of twice get along, people with introverted personalities tend to be more aware of the emotions of other people, they also tend to value friendships and relationships more relationships with another person, friendships between introverts tend to last longer

You can literally see her as someone who doesn't really know what to do with her life but still finding way to prove herself to people. I guess that's the reason why few people develop anxiety. She's the type of person whose socially inept because she's afraid how people would react from her actions despite trying to fit in and also the same person whose kept on going despite disappointment and tireness for the sake of the people that supports them. I hope she finds true happiness soon.

Because Tzuyu has smaller face and taller height. Small face is no. 1 in Korean Beauty Standards
I don’t mind Tzuyu being the only visual (she does deserve it). Tzuyu’s beauty matches a lot of people’s standard. Mina, on the other hand, will not catch people’s attention in the first glimpse. Only the very keen eyes can catch her beauty. You see, Mina doesn’t even enter any beauty ranking list like TC Chandler. But it’s okay, because for me, she’s the most beautiful girl on earth.

I mean Mina fans are not as reactive as Sana or Tzuyu fans. So Mina's visuals are less talked about. But Twice members who see Mina in person often say that Mina is very beautiful. What i remember there are Tzuyu, Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung Nayeon, Jihyo who said that, maybe Sana, Momo, and Dahyun said that too but I don't remember.

@@hveamvilov9403 : I’m a hardcore Mina bias. Everything you said is true. I’m shy and introvert, and I relate to Mina so much. We appreciate her beauty but don’t talk often about it. And not many Onces know that she’s a main dancer. She’s athletic and has a great body too (she got AOTY and SOTY, if you know what I mean), but still, no one talks about it outside the group. She’s a hidden gem, indeed.
@@anzaionce7358 I wouldn't take TC Chandler seriously thou (there were few other member who got it as well aside from Tzu)...i think it's more based on who has the loudest fans or search rankings (based on promotions). Also, in their ranking one person ranks higher than another in a year but then lower than the same person the next year ...which doesn't make sense unless their face changes each year 😂
And although Mina has a lot of fans i don't think she is known with the general public nor was/is she ever promoted by JYPE in that sense (like she was rarely sent to any kind of programs/solo schedules compared to other members). But if we're just purely talking about visuals/face, without a doubt most people find Mina very beautiful

What surprises me is that Chaeryeong was there. She's one of the youngest member of Itzy. She must have been really young during Sixteen.
Chaeryoung was born in June 2001, so yeah, she was 13 when Sixteen started and turned 14 during the show.
(Tzuyu, also a June baby, was 15 when Sixteen began but had turned 16 by its end)
Chaeryoung, now 20, was only the second-youngest competitor on Sixteen. Youngest was Natty, who was 12/13.

Plus, of course, Mina also had to deal with severe anxiety like Jeongyeon is now. 🥺🥺
