    Hi, will you be talking bout how you do your taxes, registering your boutique and things like EIN. These are the things that scares me the most about starting my own boutique.

    • @theboutiquelife
      @theboutiquelife  7 років тому +3

      Don't let it scare you! Once you figure it out in the beginning, you can move on to the exciting parts of having your own business. I am not a tax professional, so I'm unable to give legal advice, but head over to a local tax office near you. Every state and county is different. Use Yelp for your reference, I prefer mom and pop businesses for the personal experience. :)
      We're here to support you a long the way! You're welcome to join the series!

    Hello Monika! I know you don't know me personally but I just finished video 1 and I am excited about this journey. Thank you times ten for the wonderful tips, sharing your insight and also spreading your knowledge. Not many people are willing to share tips and tricks to be successful but I think we are both cut from the same cloth. I am definitely in the business of sharing the wealth and knowledge. I love to see "women" in particularly excel. It's my life passion and mission to persuade other women that we need to bring back class, independence and create opportunities for ourselves. Again, thank you and I look forward to the next video. -Jalisa.Monique

      Also forgot to add why I am starting my business. I am starting my business because I see a gap in lot of female upbringing. I want to start a business that promotes positive, classy and comfortable appeal. I want to create more of a women's movement in my local area. It starts with the mother's learning how to teach and respect their selves. Then spreading that message to their daughters. If women learn to respect their selves it teaches men to respect them as well which in return helps the world create better people. Women would wait to have kids, until they are really ready and be in a great mental space of judgement on the significant other in their life which in turn would help create more family environments with both parents. So long story short my reason for starting a business is to encourage women to respect their selves so others will as well. We are the comforters, nurturers, safe haven and ultimate reason that lives are birthed. Because who runs the world? Girls! #GirlPower Thanks again hun! -Jalisa.Monique

    Hey, I was just watching some of your other videos and realized that you went to FIDM in SF. I did too! Small world. I'm enjoying your videos. I've been selling on Poshmark and love it -- would love to expand into a full-on boutique that's a substantial source of income. That's why I'm here.

    I'm planning on opening a boutique when my youngest starts school in about 4 years. My husband is the owner of a successful screen printing business and I am going to share a space with him so I can offer on-site personalization and custom orders. Guess I am getting a head start, lol.

    Thanks for the tips. Does shopify have a invetory tracker? And will it mark Sold Out on products? Also I have used Weebly about 18 years ago for my modeling site. I don't care for the changes. I also tried another site they build you site for free. After answering questions and submitting photo's. I wasn't happy with it either. Now I am building one on Wix. I do know some coding, html, flash, pearl ect.... They offer all I need to manage a buisness. The domain price is affordable. Why do you recommend Shopify? I heard you say it's easy to set up. What else do they offer? I truly like your video's. Easy to follow and understand. Also can you reccomend a few Vendors/Wholesalers that you have had a positive experience with? One's that you use frequently. Because of fair pricing, the quality of the product and it looks the same if not better in person? Thank you so much.

    hi:)
    i have some questions!!
    how do you look out for scammers? or how do you know its a scammer? and do you need to put your address on shipping label? just want to be safe:) thank you for the videos they are helpful.

    • @theboutiquelife
      @theboutiquelife  7 років тому +2

      Hello! Great questions! When it comes to scammers, there are few things you want to look for. 1.The shipping address is different from the payment address. 2. Requesting overnight shipping. 3. Large International orders. 4. Strange email address 5. Go with your gut! Most credit card processors are good with catching unusual activity, so don't let it deter you from starting your boutique. :)
      Yes, you do need to provide an address on your shipping labels. I would recommend getting a PO Box instead of using your home address. :)

    Can you talk a little bit about start up costs for online boutiques? I've heard people say $50-$20,000! I know there are so many variables but is there an average or rough cost for start up?

    • @xyqueriastone
      @xyqueriastone 6 років тому +2

      Tauni Franklin wow they definitely lied to you .... can start with $500 $1000 $1200 And So On ... Ik that part for sure remember you’re buying your inventory for cheaper than what you’re gonna be selling it for Anyways

    I just started my online retail business on Facebook. Few weeks old and I'm already questioning myself if I made the right decision 😔. We need to have an additional income in our family of three. I love to travel, fashion and style. Introvert. And, I thought that online business is a good way to go to lower cost as well.
