Hey all. So about the bugs that come up in this. The travel bug was confirmed to be reported to EA on the official bug report forums and is easily replicated. Some have questioned if the Vampire Lore book not finishing might have been a mod, but I did go back in and do a test on a fresh save with no mods and again had trouble finishing the book. However, playing around with it by picking Re-read and interrupting him finally got it to finish. Something is causing it to break and I'm not sure what, but it's not a bug that will happen 100% of the time. Some people finish it just fine. It's kind of weird, but the vampire lore tips went by 5x just now until it properly finished. So, if you play around with it when you're sure it's 100% read (it will say re-read) and have the Sim do other commands, go back to the book you may get lucky as I did if this bug happens to affect you. If you want to play honestly, I'd note the day and give myself the cheat once I was sure it'd been 20 days. Staying in the house 20 straight days isn't exactly fun.
I also had the book bug. but sometimes dropping it, and picking it back up isn't enough. but if you sell/delete the book and buy it again that will solve it. this works for any aspiration about finishing books. like the renaissance sims. (this one suffer also from the same bug) the crippling bug with vampires was the one that made them stop earning points for ranks. haven't played a vampire in a while so I don't know if that one got fixed already. and for the 20 days... just go into torpor for 20 days straight. leave the game running in 3, go make a coffee, go back wake up and you are done XD (just make sure you are a freelance or unemployed lol)
Thanks. I was going to ask if this was still buggy, but since your post is 3 months ago I'll look out for it when my vamp gets to this point. And shame on Maxis! :p
Never had the tome glitch, can always read fine but my only work around for the 20 days is to just put on Off The Grid lot trait and jump in a coffin to hibernate for 20days. Basically leave it running and go do something else while the timer ticks away. The easiest work around without cheats since there still seems to be no fix without mods for console players. This is the only thing I've ever had a problem with on console so hibernating, while not the greatest thing, isn't a bad trade off. Edit: Don't just tab out though. You still get phone calls from annoying sims while hibernating so just keep an eye on it or have the sound on so you know when your phone goes.
Somehow whenever I have have a wedding in the sims 4, I always end up inviting a vampire and they always end up dying. Guess Grim just wants to be invited.
It bugs me to no end that 1. Vampires show up during the day and 2. They seem cool with slowly burning to death. I tried to give them the "run inside" moodlet during daytime and outside, but they still go about their human ways and then die all over the city, outside people's homes etc.
Like, it's a pretty sure way of killing an unplayed sim. Just make them a vampire and they will not live very long (as you would expect), but burn in the sun.
@@Johanna77777-z See I don't think that's the thing that bothers me the most, mainly the fact that they lose their fashion sense when they transform. So they basically run around with thigh high socks sandals with some leather pants and a tank top.
@@Johanna77777-z It's weird, because I distinctly remember that, when Vampires first came out, vampires would "seek shelter" (name of the actual action) asap as soon as they stepped foot outside. Somewhere along the way either this behavior got changed, or a change to the simulation made it be overridden, because now they're dumbasses who will fry because they REALLY wanna nap on the pool float in the middle of a sunny summer day.
I gave good ol' Vladdie one of the red froots from Strangerville and something funky happened. He did start walking around all penguin-like, but... he also retained his vampire teleportation powers. So you can imagine my ''Oh god, what have I done...'' when this thousand year old vampire with unparallelled power starting walking like a penguin with beady eyes suddenly vanished into thin air. *I regret nothing.*
Yeah. The magic users getting the needs potion on level 1-2 was a decision that allowed me to burn through the entire thing in one hour. It was really disappointing to me. I didn't even build a house, didn't need it.
@@CarlsSimGuidesThis is quite a bit late, however, I want to make a quick comparison here. I noticed with the Scientist career track, you can “synthesize serums”. And your Sim needs to try out those serums several times to get them “proven to work”. Also, if you drink, say, the hunger need serum, it can sometimes reduce your hunger level, making it worse, and you get a notification saying that you were using it as a replacement for food. Now, if they had something similar in use when using Plentiful Needs, it might have made it more interesting. At the very least, there could be a danger of, instead of replenishing needs, it did the opposite.
Great video Carl. Vampires had tons of game play. It's still my favorite pack of all time, and about, 75% of the reason I even play the sims 4. Your weaknesses shape you as much as your strengths do, and forcing you to make interesting choices is what makes a game great. Really wish Maxis would learn from that . . . .
I know, they could have done so much with Mermaids and Spellcasters based on how they formatted Vampires but they DIDN'T! I'm still annoyed about that!
This is why I was so disappointed with what I'd seen from RoM, I hoped for (but never expected) something as fleshed out as Vampires as far as the spell system, and we got glorified cheats...
You have zero creativity. Spellcasters can; -Teleport inside celebrities vaults to steal stuff with burglariate. - Make a rejuvenation potion then use copypasto to achieve immortality - Curse Sims you don't like or that are a problem to you -Use the spell duplicato to duel yourself and gain new spells, ingredients and even new artefacts -Make celebrities horrible with strangeify if they are overshadowing you Etc.
@Zachary Khan No I didn't even see your comment. I was replying to the guy's post. I was saying that spellcasters in Sims 4 are brand new and that we should give them time.
@TastyGaming I mean if you’re that desperate to justify Sims creators setting the bar so low, but we all know that they are capable of doing so much more. There is no reason for people to be making better content with mods, then the actual base game (what we pay for).
I love the vampire dlc. i always go back to it. its so well worth the money. i hope within a year i can say the same about realm of magic, even if the builds are awful af
now if only the casters had this much polish. im starting to hate the emotion system just because the devs keep using it as a crutch to "create" features (more like copy pasto)
Frankly I'm not a witch/spellcasters player so how they are in TS4 doesn't bother me but if werewolves are more like casters than vampires I would be really mad and sad!! Same for fairies.
That was a patch update from AFTER Seasons. I got Vampires shortly after it was released (long before Seasons) & man was it annoying when your sim didn't make it home in time and DIED! I had lots of covered porches in builds for vampires. After seasons when umbrellas were released, it was frustrating that vampire sims STILL couldn't use them to protect from the sun (like they could in Sims 3); it was finally patched in an update.
It's weird how the Offspring stuff works. I thought the offsprings would have the powers of their "parents" with less weaknesses and become stronger over time. That's just what I had wanted 😂
I was a big fan of Anne Rice as a teen and loved the lore she established about her vampires. They did get stronger from drinking from an older vampire, gaining new powers in the process. That whole series is amazing and I highly recommend it to vampire fans. Interview with the Vampire and on to The Vampire Lestat and like 7-8 more if you get into it.
Vampires are my favorite!!! I just started a new household with a vampire and witch. It was disappointing how fast mastering all the spells are. Witches are fun, but not much of a challenge.
@@danagrant3252 that would be fun to watch, but a lot of LP's are boring. They do the same thing, but "witch edition". I want to see some sims murder revenge plots lol
I did not know the Forever Full perk worked on Thirst because I’ve had it before I turned and it doesn’t work on thirst. Also hate that famous sims are such prudes. Speaking of bugs, they need to fix Shrewd reward trait. Hasn’t worked for awhile but can help a lot with money. After Uni, they need to do bug fix dlc. Also. Being a vampire combined with all the learning perks, and Snaggle Fluster drink, throw in a crystal crown if you want, makes Vampires then ultimate learners. Best part, no bladder, so drink snaggle fluster all you want to get that 6x boost.
Oh!!! So it’s traveling that resets it! I got to 10 days and then I thought it randomly went back to 0 and I was so confused/pissed. I ditched my vampire and havent played her since. Might give her another go now and try to finish the aspiration. Love love LOVE your videos. They’re always so helpful
Was a fun Video. One side thing that bothers me is how Maxis decided to just skip the idea of a Hybrid system. Where a sim out side of skin, teeth, eyes, and ears, could be a true hybrid with minor things carrying over. Like a Half breed Vampire being able to consume Vampire Food, for example (Blade from Marvel for example?). A thing with Vampires that Witches/Warlocks also suffer from that kind of annoys me a little is If you take the Power to Teleport as a Bat or Mist always on, you'll then get "Exp" towards that Occult's powers just moving around from point A to B almost making it too easy to get new skills/Level ups. It also bothered me that Vampires didn't have something similar to Witches/Warlocks with concerns to Babies where the next generation doesn't get any benefit for being born a "Pure Blood" like improved Power gains or Maybe Less Weaknesses. Also, in the "Tips" for the Vampire Lore books they mention how a more powerful Vampire turning people should create more powerful Vampires, yet no such thing exists in the game that I saw. Such as an Ancient Vampire turning a human into a Vampire but they start off as a Fledgling and not maybe 2 tiers lower then the Ancient Vampire in power. Also in the neighborhood it looked like they might have been considering some kind of spots for adventures or something maybe like Strangerville, but never went through with it and just left it as decorations. (Like the grave in the middle of the lake, or the werewolf statue by one of the houses) These are just some little nit picks or my own thoughts.
Something kind of funny that I think of everytime Vlad shows up in one of Carl's videos is wondering if a vamp Sim could feed on a baby/toddler/child or even drain a Sim completely dry. I don't think any of those situations can happen based on what I've seen but I don't know
I encountered another bug and it's one with no mods. If you have your vampire get the weakness that removes the ability to eat food and then they're cured, they still cannot eat food.
It's a shame that the Master Vampire Aspiration is still not fixed. There are quite a few aspirations that are STILL buggy after all this time, despite reports on the EA forums - Master Vampire is not the only one. I appreciate the regular releases of new content, but I wish they had a separate team working 'behind the scenes' to fix the stuff that needs fixing at the same time! A particular bugbear of mine at the moment is that ever since Island Living, toddlers won't finish a plate of food. If they're not in a high chair, I just make a family meal and give them a plate, they'll take maybe two bites and then walk over to the other side of the house to put it down somewhere, hunger bar still empty. It's very frustrating and I know it won't be fixed, like so many other things!
The problem is that EA seems to prioritize new content over old bug fixes. Vampires had a bug (maybe even since pack release) where you couldnt earn any skill points at all once the bar was full, and it took them over half a year once it was reported by the community to fix it, all while a modder, who saw that post, released a mod that, as he said, only added a few lines of missing code.
If you don't do this regularly, try deleting your Localthumbcache file and see if that helps toddlers eat their food. If that doesn't work, you may want to try repairing your game. Supposedly they fixed this bug but I don't know if anything they've done since then has broken it again. If neither option works, find the bug report and let them know it's still happening. Best of luck! answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/bd-p/The-Sims-4-Bugs
To be honest to me the vampire pack is the best dlc with limited I been using vampire and made a family of a witch and 2 vampire but yea vampire are fun to me Edit: the amongst of bugs for it is high in swear I was at 2 days going to work reset the timer
Vampires are easily my favorite thing about Sims 4. In fact, I didn't get Sims 4 until the vampire pack came out. Besides the terribly small world, they did a good job with the game pack.
I have played with Vampires way more than I had done so with witches (Mermaids even less so since there is no sense of progression there) and I never get bored. I love that freaking pack. I love CAS, I love build/buy mode, I love the gameplay, I love the town. I do have that master bug thing. I cant never finish the 20 days one.
When your vampire sim is a famous celebrity any sim will allow you to drink from them. I had random sims come up to mine and she asked them for a drink and they let my sim.
Vampires is definitely one of the best packs for a game as.... questionable as the Sims 4. An occult-themed pack may not be for everyone, but the gameplay features it offers is integral enough for it to be solid, since it provides a fresh take on a thing that's already done in the previous games, without being shoehorned or forceful. It provides the sort of mayhem that you'd expect from an occult lifestate, but it adds character and depth by differentiating them and nerfing them through the weakness points. On top of that, Vampires not only have access to powers that are perfect for a chaotic player, but said powers are actually UNIQUE and different from what we've seen before in the game, and not just copy-pasted mood-changing cheats. This kind of setup makes the cheaty-ish gameplay you'd get be actually rewarding and rightful since it's not handed to you on a silver platter. You have to work hard to get these powers at the cost of some things. Not only that, but there's small details that are integrated into other parts of the game too, such as the Master-Offspring tag for relationships, and the Dark Ley Line Lot Trait for legacies & the new lot traits system. I was pretty excited for Realm of Magic since I was expecting a level of depth comparable to Vampires, but it just falls so short compared to Vampires. Which is so ironic since there's a whole Pandora's Box to be unleashed from the concept of spellcasting and magic. Oh well.
Returning to this video as were approaching Halloween again. I love the Vampire pack. It’s definitely not perfect but I find myself playing vampire families way more than any occult. I find the weakness system and the vampire rankings so interesting!
GREAT vid, as usual Carl. I also use programming, but I use the Freelance Programmer career. Makes plenty of money while you level up and you do NOT have to spend DAYS writing a single game or app. Brings in nice money!
I don't know why I didn't even consider using freelancer. I guess it's not in my mind as firmly as it should be. I haven't played a lot with it since I covered it -- but really strong point.
Every game has bugs. That's why they update every few months. Sometimes the code for the newer packs is what breaks the older stuff. Since so many games have online capability now, companies are more likely to release a game and then patch bugs than stall release longer until a big is fixed. That's consistent for nearly every franchise.
You're right. EA promised less bugs in going back to loading screens and using less complicated tech. They didn't deliver...period. Personally, I'm not bothering with the new uni EP, I'm opting for a new release in my favorite book series.
@@BonaparteBardithion Yeah, but they have game-breaking bugs routinely, in ways that don't make much sense. It's different if it's a small thing that doesn't matter much. Also, the DLC frequently feels rushed. I'd rather have two packs a year that are highly polished, in-depth gameplay, and with minimal bugs, with proper teases that don't make us feel like we're out of the loop. Rushing five DLC packs out in a single year and being very hush-hush about most of them up until the release date is awkward at best. At this point, I honestly don't know if I want to buy any of the packs from this year around Black Friday. I'm tempted and I want to enjoy this game but with limited time and a bunch of packs I haven't fully explored as-is (I still haven't played a Vampire yet), I don't know if it's worth getting more. I also wasn't expecting THIS many all at once. I was hoping they'd slow down so I could pick-up the new stuff at a leisurely pace; like one expansion and one game pack a year. Instead, we have two of each and of course, Uni won't be on sale any time soon (maybe around Christmas, if we're lucky.) :P
Realms of magic also have some designs flaw like bugs, like for instance some aspirations require you to learn spells, but if you already learned all spells it doesn't register that. So either you're forced to use cheat to do aspiration if you didn't pick the aspiration along with ranking up your mage, or you're forced to remove your characters magic skills and start all over again. It's surprising stuff like this make it past testing.
I figured out a workaround that works sometimes for the book bug, sell all your vampire books. Then buy a new copy and read that one. MOOOOOST of the times it works.
@@sabrinarosario6499 yeah, but it doesn't require cheats, which is what I'm avoiding. On ps4, if you cheat even once, you're not able to collect trophies anymore (which I like doing), so I'm taking notes of workarounds I can do cheat-free.
Yeah I just had some luck playing around with it in a fresh save (no mods). It wouldn't work at first, but re-reading, canceling and interrupting his reading with another action seemed to work. I'm not 100% sure which thing I did triggered it.
Vampires is actually the first ever pack I bought for a sims game, so it really means a lot to me. I just love occults so much and in my opinion it's the best DLC of the whole game without a boubt. With this kind of focused pack we get a fully fleshed out vampire, and that's why I think they're the best vampires of the whole franchise.
So, I'm not a fan of the sims4, but I will say that the game has the best vampires and the best toddlers out of all the sims games, in my opinion. Vampires is one of my favorite additions to sims4
Definitely my favorite pack! I made two vampire sisters. One was a badass and drank from humans and the other was a sensitive artist who only drank plasma packs 🙂 lots of fun! Love your videos Carl keep em comin 😉
I think the book-related bug is from a mod that makes the sim return books to a bookshelf automatically after they finish reading. If you add a bookshelf to your home, it shouldn't happen (though from my experience, your sim might return the book to the shelf before they finish reading it. Not sure if this applies to skill books).
I hate the whole thing with not being able to talk to celebrities. I had a celebrity painter, and her grandchild wasn't allowed to talk to her, because she was famous. -_- It was ridiculous. My main bug issue with vampires was that if you reset your skill points, it doesn't change the traits you had chosen. For example, my vampire took the flaw where she is sad randomly, as she recalls her mortal life. I got tired of seeing her randomly cry, so I gave her flaws that would make her less miserable, yet they never removed the sadness flaw, she just had new flaws then in addition. She still randomly cried. As well, she married Caleb; and I wanted him to be able to enjoy their life together and raising their vampire children; so I wanted to remove his deadened emotions trait. I reset him, with the potion; but he still had the deadened emotions. It doesn't remove the previous choices, no matter how many times I tried to change them. I even used cheats to reset them both, but nothing changed. It's like you said, there were reports to them from years ago, and it is still an issue.
I think the vampire pack is a really good pack. When they 1st announced them I was like meh, but when I saw the trailer it piqued my interest, I sometimes play as a vampire and it is pretty fun. Just a shame the bugs haven’t been fixed.
Here is a tip if you want to level you vampire fast : level the vampire normaly until you can get the Vampiric Strength maxed then find another vampire and do a vampiric duel(NOT THE SPAR)do a lot of vampiric duels until you are max level(Vampiric duels is the interaction that gives the most amout of xp )
When I Play a vampire I usually use the night to go fishing frog hunting they can give u plasma packs very easily and its FREE! you also get to do some collecting and frog mating mechanic is very useful for this, fish and frog packs have the same thirst amount as regular plasma packs that u can buy in the computer.
Completely agree with fixing the bugs. Every new pack breaks something in what we already have. Or when they update. Crazy. Thanks for sharing, was fun to watch.
One of the better Sims 4 expansion packs....I've been messing with it quite a bit since being "quarantined" and have found it quite helpful toward the development of a story I've finally had time to work on (no, not another sparkly teenage Twilight thing). Very well thought out. That vampire your friend created is pretty damned hot, as well.
15:18 AH, GOOD! They added pouches with STRAWS to Sims 4! I've complained about the lack of using straws after Sims 3's juice and stuff but I'm glad to see at least one here.
I didn't know about the alluring visage or the force feeding thing on the celebrities. Awesome video! These type of gameplay review videos are the best
I'm finding it interesting that once I am a vampire of a certain rank, I can ask someone if they want me to turn them. It's weird when they say yes. It's also strange that not everyone shuns me when I drink in front of them. Even my victims wake up and invite me to stay for dinner. I move next to the Goths and Mr Goth just kept coming to my house. I use hibernation as it tend to work fast.
Easily the best pack out.. though the myriad of game breaking bugs it came with (and still comes with) is unfortunate. Traits that don't actually reset when reset, leading to stacking flaws with each reset. Vampires coming home from work and just hanging out in the street roasting. All sorts of good stuff.
The traits not resetting drives me crazy. I go into casfulledtimode and switch traits sometimes and then I get stupid moodlets about traits they no longer have - this is for all sims not just vampires too! Ungggg!
Yeah, I took care to 'call inside' vamps this time, because I didn't want Caleb or Vlad to die. Sometimes they just stood outside. Especially if you travel with them, you've got to look out for this. Sadly they may show up at random during the day and the AI bugs out, and you just get a notification they're gone..
I had one vampire that had the messy drinker flaw, at least I think that was the one. I had him drink the respec item several times trying out different specs, and each time took that flaw. After like 2 respecs he was unable to get his blood need to fill because he had like 3 copies of the messy drinker flaw. They stacked, and each time it got worse until he was unplayable.
Hello Carl, Hooray for you new video. I'm currently replaying my newer version of my old vampyra sim because my old one is too buggy due to creation from older patch hence I duplicate in CAS. Upon replaying I find two unexpected blessings for vampire if simmers got Island Living and Outdoor Retreat Pack. 1st blessing from Island Living: I got 2 days of full nourishment from Island Spirit. The thirst bar was full in 2 days due to that blessing. The 2nd one form Outdoor Retreat: the Tent. Yap even a Vampyra sim with Coffin Only Sleeper debuff can still sleep, nap and relax in tent/Cabin O'Pack. Oh lastly for Vampyra who wish to gain exp quickly, reading Ultimate Tome is the best way aside drinking plasma from another sim or seeking any conflict from other Vampyra. Just patiently read the book till 5 messages pop up, you'll fill up exp bar fully. Another way is boosting Moonpower, Sailormoon? LOL, ALL~ the way to the max then have only level 1 day phobia to lose a quator dark power duringday time then dark mediate during the night time. Fun fact: Having vampyra with Moonpower would help simmers to know when the night time begins. I'm surprise to know Del Sol Valley is the 2nd best place to live for Vampyra better than St. Myshuno due to night time earlier than other.
One tip I have is, never mind fish for plasma packs - just go frog hunting for one day, keep frogs in your inventory and breed them as often as you can. Soon you have all the plasma packs you need!
I bought this for 11 bucks when it was on sale and i got my moneys worth. The other dlc are disappointing especially pets. They dont add enough bang for your buck. I only own vampires and pets but ive done my research and the other packs arent worth full price. Sims 3 was way way better than sims 4.
Oh heck yeah, for $11 it's very worth it. Like I said, if you like vampires most of the time you will be happy with this pack. It has its rough edges but it's mostly very playable.
Of course, they just milk us, they can't even fix old bugs. I don't know how long it took for me to work out how to place toddler beds so they would sleep in them and where to place seats so the parents could read them to sleep... or in general just read to them. And I still don't get the logic on when a Sim needs to sit down between doing things. It's annoying. And STAIRS... -.- There are so many bugs still after 5 years, it's _truly_ annoying.
loving vampires so much. I keep 2 different frogs in my vampire's inventory and breed when I can and make the 3rd a plasma pack. that way my vampire always has packs.
I just bought the pack, and was very confused not to see anyone in french Sims spheres mention a glitch about the 20-day aspiration goal that comes with one of the new aspirations in this pack ... Now I can finally confirm that this is a game-wide problem, and not just something wrong with my game ! I only wish they'd fix it, as I can definitely not afford to play 20 in-game days straight ;-; Thanks a lot for this excellent review, I learnt a lot !
I love the vampire pack I think this is the best pack maxis has ever given us I really enjoy playing with vampires instead of just regular sims I don't know I guess it's because of their mortality and powers but yes till this day I'm enjoying vampires it's my absolute best pack in sims 4
You can get plasma bags from your pets. Just do a surgery and there will be an option. Kinda weird. There is a cooldown at least. Thank you very much for your videos, even I don't understand everything. English is not my native language.
Thanks, Valencia! It was a fun one to make, because I actually get to play with something I'm fond of. I'm the type that starts up with a goal in mind and pursues it, and vampires has lots of ways to do that and different paths you might take.
I thought I was gonna hate this pack when I first got it, but it actually delivers pretty well compared to my other game packs. I think the bb mode stuff is my favorite aspect
I didn't have these aspiration issues when the Vamp pack first came out, but I did notice these bugs start a few years ago. It's been an issue for a long time but wasn't there at the pack's launch (I bought Sims 4 after Vampires and toddlers came out b/c it finally looked like content worth playing at that time). I really wish Spellcasters had as much gameplay as vampires did. There's so much different things to do as a vampire, but with Spellcasters I'm just sitting there watching my sim wave a wand around or stir a cauldron for hours until they finally rank up or learn that new spell/potion recipe.
One of my favorite RPG's of all time is Vampire The Masquerade, so having vampires in The Sims 4 is awesome, despite the bugs, it's my favorite pack so far.
To get the ultimate tome aspiration just read the book for a bit and have the sim drink a blood pack or something like that and he will get the credit but as for the 20 days as a vampire you can either cheat or wait till you don't have a job and hibernate for 20 days (leave it on ultra fast and go make a coffee)
Vincent looks like the bad guy from Practical Magic, lol. Also, I’ve had the Vampire pack, but never actually played as vampire. This actually looks interesting and I think I’ll give it a try. The bugs are super frustrating. That pack has been out for how long and they’ve not been fixed. I’ve enjoyed this video. I’d like to see more like it.
I honestly can't remember the last time I played a non-vampire Sim. I just love this life state so much! It's the only reason I still play. But, at the end of the day, I'm far more obsessed with my Sims 3 fairies.
i do like Vampires you can take or leave the gameplay and come back to it at will very nice pack and gameplay .some nice furniture and outfits too . AHH yes you do need to stay on the lot for the 20 days just throw a lot of partys to feed it too took me a long time to figure this out, and lastly i do love the Vlad charcater and the vague back story bewteen him and Caleb and his sister regarding feeding styles and a dislike for Vlad . Also somthing i choose not to take adavantge of as i like to try and keep my game play real ...but... if you own a camera taking photos with anyone around 4 times make you automaticaly BFFs ... if you chooose Calebs not feeding on sims life style without permission that may help . also helps with the friendship aspirations if your in a rush lol .
Master of darkness perk boosts skills ultimately, so if you combined it with the top notch toddler, scouting reward trait, savant trait and also a morning sim/night owl trait then that's gonna be Amazing
In my playthrough I decided my sim to marry a vampire and become a vampire herself. However, when their kids turned out to be vampires and I was kind of done with the whole supernatural playthrough and changed them back to humans with the potion you can make, they kept having some of their vampire downsides and NONE of them could eat regular food, even though they were human, making them all die of starvation. Maybe you could test this out as well if your sim can't eat regular food after being turned into a human again :)
If you're interested in making a "veggie" vampire you're better install some mods to increase plasma/fruit recovery or wait until you can purchase the forever full trait, they really should be more generous and let those things recover more of the thirst bar. Something that you forgot is that vampires can also drink plasma jane, I believe that they really wanted us to prey on other sims as playing the good vampire is more of a chore. Another tip is if random vampire attacks annoys you, just lock the door of your bedroom to house sims only, I never encountered a random NPC that could open doors but technically they could be generated with this skill.
This is a good point, every vampire I've played has felt very different! The diverse powers and need to kind of specialize really makes them interesting. My one gripe is thirst, I have given sims Forever Full and it's NEVER filled their thirst???? I get so frustrated with how quickly that need decays and how impossible it is to fill. The plasma packs seem to only fill like 10% of the bar even when my vampire is fully tricked out to be as efficient as possible at drinking. Also, you can't direct them to drink multiple plasma packs in a row from their inventory. They will drink one and then just delete the drink actions for all the others. I used to line up packs on the floor and have them drink before I finally got fed up and downloaded a mod to slow their thirst decay. If there's been an update that allows Forever Full to fill thirst I will be VERY happy. After that huge rant on thirst, I was also hoping mages would be similar to vampires in that each one would feel unique but... alas...
Yeah - that's why I like this system more so than spellcasters. The perks in casting are mainly impacting spells/potions and not giving entirely new actions. They have no weaknesses, so they end up fairly the same no matter what you do. Vampires can be a bit different even at max rank, though you can cheese the system by picking weaknesses that don't bother you. It's OP at times, but they also took OP to a new level with casters. I was a bit disappointed in it despite my initial excitement. On the plasma packs, yeah you're right.. I even expanded the stack and can't get them to drink two in a row. Lots of these little annoyances need fixed.
@@franklinwenzler Yeah I was able to replicate my issues without mods, so something's up but at least it's not broken 100% of the time. I'm surprised you don't have the travel bug though, as that one happens every time my Sim goes somewhere else with a loading screen no matter which type of travel I choose.
My fav dlc because this system when you get strong and weaker at same time.but like you said theres bugs and a lot ( one big example is the npc vampires dont attack anymore at night= they get stucked on any door in freezing state.)i feel sad about realm of magic because familiars are just a walk light decoration for you sim saddly.i was expecting familiars to be interactive like cats and dogs and plus they can talk or even do simple tasks.for me they just need made familiars like the patchy the scarecrow he just is awesome .
Huh -- I'm not sure how I managed to get past the book bug (earlier build that may not have had it? Doing the right things at the right time to interrupt it?), but I am sadly well-aware of the "survive 20 days" bug. It's ESPECIALLY irritating to me as I do ROUND ROBIN-style play, so I really CAN'T stick with my vampire OTP to complete the aspiration! *sigh* I wouldn't mind so much if the count stop while I wasn't playing them, but having it constantly reset. . .ugh. Anyway, nice to see some love for the Vampires game pack. Vampires are one of my favorite life states, and I thought the Sims 4 did an AMAZING job with them. Powers, perks, weaknesses. . .it was all lovely. :D And yes, you can really customize your vampires with perks and weaknesses! I can make a daywalker if I want, or a VtM-style vampire who will pretty much immediately die in sunlight. :p Vampires definitely set the standard with occults for me. . .and it's kind of sad that they've never lived up to it past that. (I AM one of those freaks who likes Spellcasters, but I acknowledge people complaining that magic makes things too easy. Maybe if they'd done curses more like weaknesses here? Hmmmm. . .)
I think those bug are same as Freelance's tasks job. Everytime your sim travel, the task won't be able to finish. So you must using World Map for travel.
Yeah I just re-confirmed it in two ways, without mods in order to make sure. I traveled with the map, which reset it. I traveled by clicking a house in the same neighborhood.. reset again. I kind of wonder if there are achievements that don't work because of the game failing to carry this information over. Manage worlds actually didn't break the counter when I tried that, and saving is OK.
You don't need a cheat to get rid of Book bug. When you're sure that the book is finished (and by the time you need to complete this milestone it certainly is), just shift-click on it while your vamp is reading it and reset it. The milestone will complete.
That's what I was going for, so thanks. I figured if I cut out a lot of the routine it'd be more interesting and watchable. I hate watching Sims go to the bathroom and cook and those bits can be cut without hurting anything.
How to ruin the vampire experience in the sims 4. Create a normal sim. get the Science career and discover "need fixer serum ", then become a vampire. or have a witch household member can make "Potion of Plentiful Needs" or abuse Celestial Crystal with Shinolite or Peach.
(this one suffer also from the same bug)
the crippling bug with vampires was the one that made them stop earning points for ranks. haven't played a vampire in a while so I don't know if that one got fixed already.
and for the 20 days... just go into torpor for 20 days straight. leave the game running in 3, go make a coffee, go back wake up and you are done XD
(just make sure you are a freelance or unemployed lol)
The book bug happens all the time, 100%. It can be fixed accidentally by certain actions, so some people may claim it's working.
Thanks. I was going to ask if this was still buggy, but since your post is 3 months ago I'll look out for it when my vamp gets to this point. And shame on Maxis! :p
The "always full" satisfaction reward does not work for me.
Noah Skibba 😂😂😂
That sounds HILARIOUS.
I died 😂
I need to try it hahahahahs
"He is clearly a very thirsty Vampire" and Im very thirsty for that hunk of a Vampire myself
You can find him searching #carlsguide on the gallery. It's the Serafino household :)
He looks so much like my favorite vampire too! Same hair, darker (grim reaper skin tone, which he started as).
Still waiting on werewolves...
As soon as I started reading that it said it in the video lol
@@TastyGamingQc what do you think about the new werewolf game pack?
One thing I noticed, it was harder for my Sim to become a vampire than a magic user.
Spellcasters can;
-Teleport inside celebrities vaults to steal stuff with burglariate.
- Make a rejuvenation potion then use copypasto to achieve immortality
- Curse Sims you don't like or that are a problem to you
-Use the spell duplicato to duel yourself and gain new spells, ingredients and even new artefacts
-Make celebrities horrible with strangeify if they are overshadowing you
Etc.
@Zachary Khan
No I didn't even see your comment. I was replying to the guy's post.
I was saying that spellcasters in Sims 4 are brand new and that we should give them time.
@@TastyGamingQc I don't have RoM but most of that you can still do with cheats or mods, just saying 👀
@@waitwhat6906
Okay but literally everything is a cheat with console command. At least this allow for creative use and just some good old mayhem.
@TastyGaming
I mean if you’re that desperate to justify Sims creators setting the bar so low, but we all know that they are capable of doing so much more. There is no reason for people to be making better content with mods, then the actual base game (what we pay for).
I love the vampire dlc. i always go back to it. its so well worth the money. i hope within a year i can say the same about realm of magic, even if the builds are awful af
For me, it's amongst seasons and get together. I use vampires loads
now if only the casters had this much polish.
im starting to hate the emotion system just because the devs keep using it as a crutch to "create" features (more like copy pasto)
Frankly I'm not a witch/spellcasters player so how they are in TS4 doesn't bother me but if werewolves are more like casters than vampires I would be really mad and sad!! Same for fairies.
His last name is actually Straud which is a play on the big bad of the DND module Curse of Strahd :D
nerd?
You can always add a umbrella stand and have your sim equip one. Then whenever they go during daytime they will be safe from the sun.
@@CodexArgenteus oh didnt know that :) got pritty much all of them during sale to console, so never had that problem.
I love to make my vampire sim possessing Guilty Drinker, Sloppy Drinker, and Insatiable Thirst weaknesses. So fun and interestingly quiet challenging.
@@CarlsSimGuides Oh dang nice! Ill definitely look into that!
@@CarlsSimGuides also check out the Necroscope series
Vampires are my favorite!!! I just started a new household with a vampire and witch. It was disappointing how fast mastering all the spells are. Witches are fun, but not much of a challenge.
Someone should make a let’s play out of that 🤣🤣🤣
@@danagrant3252 that would be fun to watch, but a lot of LP's are boring.
I don't think it does. I have it on my Master Vampire and her thirst still drops.
(Like the grave in the middle of the lake, or the werewolf statue by one of the houses)
These are just some little nit picks or my own thoughts.
That must suck :)
Sounds like a good way to outright kill a sim
Just because of this I turn off autonomy when I have toddlers in the sims 4
@@DoveJS Aw thanks for the tips! Will definitely try both! :)
This happened to me, but found out toddlers dont like spicy food and thats why they didnt eat it lol
I was hoping Realm of Magic would be ask fleshed out as Vampires
Me too. I loved the CAS and BB items, but the skills were lame in comparison to how Vampires was built.
To be honest to me the vampire pack is the best dlc with limited I been using vampire and made a family of a witch and 2 vampire but yea vampire are fun to me
Edit: the amongst of bugs for it is high in swear I was at 2 days going to work reset the timer
I'm a big fan of the vampires pack. It's one of my faves.
Same, I really enjoy having Vampires in my game and usually play at least 2 or 3 households of them in most of my saves.
Ugh! The game is five years old already and there are bugs from the first pack to the very last... ppl really need to speak up about this
Every game has bugs. That's why they update every few months. Sometimes the code for the newer packs is what breaks the older stuff. Since so many games have online capability now, companies are more likely to release a game and then patch bugs than stall release longer until a big is fixed. That's consistent for nearly every franchise.
BonaparteBardithion no, there are bugs they never bordered fixing... name another five year old game patched once a month but never actually patched
Who cares about fixing bugs when you can make dlc for dlc amarite?
Instead, we have two of each and of course, Uni won't be on sale any time soon (maybe around Christmas, if we're lucky.) :P
it's strange that having the strength skill your vampire has a hard time doing weights
Yep, but he went 3 for 3 on dueling. Of course, making someone a fledgling then kicking their ass is kind of mean but..
@@CarlsSimGuides yep
Realms of magic also have some designs flaw like bugs, like for instance some aspirations require you to learn spells, but if you already learned all spells it doesn't register that. So either you're forced to use cheat to do aspiration if you didn't pick the aspiration along with ranking up your mage, or you're forced to remove your characters magic skills and start all over again. It's surprising stuff like this make it past testing.
I figured out a workaround that works sometimes for the book bug, sell all your vampire books. Then buy a new copy and read that one. MOOOOOST of the times it works.
Patrik Rydberg Reset Sim works as well.
Caleb Vatore - my favorit vampire! Thanks for new information. Congratulation everybody for Hallowen from Russia! 🎃🎃🎃🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨

I love vampires in my opinion it's the best game pack EA have released alongside strangerville
Hello Carl,
Hooray for you new video.
Beautiful video. Thanks for the tips. Also did you know they updated vampires. Now we can learn all the vampire powers
I don't even play Sims 4 why I've been binge watching your videos..
You can use Patchy for Plasma...considering your love of Patchy, I'm surprised its not mentioned...
You can get plasma bags from your pets. Just do a surgery and there will be an option. Kinda weird. There is a cooldown at least. Thank you very much for your videos, even I don't understand everything. English is not my native language.
This was really Interesting and I enjoyed your commentary. You have a nice voice! : )
I actually finished the Master Vampire Aspiration. Had to make a new Sim for that happen tho.
I never was bad vampire. IT took me a while bit i complete good vampire aspiration. Love this pack.
The pack went on sale for 50% this week, so really it would be in their best interest to fix these bugs to retain new players.
I honestly can't remember the last time I played a non-vampire Sim. I just love this life state so much! It's the only reason I still play. But, at the end of the day, I'm far more obsessed with my Sims 3 fairies.
Thank you Carl! love these info let's plays, they are so helpful!
Great video as always. I enjoy the vampire dlc, but that aspiration bug should have been fixed long time ago.
Thanks for this I just picked up the pack on sale and the overview was very helpful
i do like Vampires you can take or leave the gameplay and come back to it at will very nice pack and gameplay .some nice furniture and outfits too .
Also you can buy skill boost perks for Club meetings.
Just finished the video. 👏👏👏👏
Your content its so great.
01:41 - I'm very disappointed. I thought we only build boxes on this channel.
Vampires is my favourite pack
why doesn’t the shadow move when the coffin moves
Lots of these little annoyances need fixed.
this pack is really cool, and the mods for this pack are awesome
Make a video about the vampire hunters!!!
Wait I completed the vampire aspiration more then once I was able to complete it so many times
I didn’t travel tho but reading the tome worked for me. I have mods but non are set to fix that issue tho
Hmmmm. . .)
I love vampires but how is there no Bela Lugosi cape???????
The master vampire aspiration will also drain less vampire energy and make them more successful in commanding
They should bring the ranking system / weakness - strengths system to base game and make it more of a personality/additional aspiration system
do you know why i can't get the trophy circle of life. on ps4? you have a child and let it die from old age i did and the trophy did not pop.
Thanks for the tutorial on vampires.
The milestone will complete.
this is one of my favorite packs for the sims 4
i like this it feels like a streamlined lets play.
That's what I was going for, so thanks. I figured if I cut out a lot of the routine it'd be more interesting and watchable. I hate watching Sims go to the bathroom and cook and those bits can be cut without hurting anything.
How to ruin the vampire experience in the sims 4.
Create a normal sim. get the Science career and discover "need fixer serum ", then become a vampire.
or have a witch household member can make "Potion of Plentiful Needs"
or abuse Celestial Crystal with Shinolite or Peach.
Can you put this Sim on the gallery?
Done. Search #carlsguide via hashtag and you'll find him under Serafino.
Carl's The Sims Guides thank you!!
