Very good details and demonstration, thx.
As a "Switch" use, turn it ON with 4.5v for the automotive 10.5v thru 15v range with a thermistor monitoring the Fet temperature, steady state at 70f (120f for Arizona) ambient for at least an hour.... Although for a common ground automotive use, a P-Channel high side mosfet is more practical....

VERY nice video and explanation. Thumbs up!! I had a strange situation with mine. When I used Ground from my board (24V, stepped down to 5V with 7805), the module failed to work! Yet, when I just used the gate PWM signal, with NO ground attached to the small voltage connections, it works! I'm not very experienced so I'm probably doing something wrong!

Hi sir, excellent tutorial? Can I use this module to maximize the voltage from an esc? I mean without that the motor reaches the max speed 7.2v but when I push a button on arduino it lowers the maximum voltage to 4v for example. The main issue I see here is the change of polarity (to go backwards with my device) can you suggest something for a bidirectional regulator where the vin is came crom an esc?

Thank you for a good video of this module. i went and bought some.
But i Do find they get extremely hot.
    I'm using a 11.1 lipo battery at 2000Ah
I'm using it for a small engine and so the Mosfet is being used for the ignition coil
So I have the Mosfet connected from the Arduino and is connected with the Lypo 11.1 and the mosfet is connected to a Ignition Coil that has a spark plug that generates the Spark
But after 5 seconds it gets extremely hot but other devices don.t get hot.
so the coil is drawing to much
i dont know what i can do apart from adding some heat sink but i do think it can be sorted via another way but don't know
Any help from any one I will be very grateful

to find the rate of an electronic switch like this, usually the current in Ampere is important then the voltage. I assume the voltage is low and the current for 1100 lumen is very low. this device can handle 15A and if voltage is 12V, then it would be like 180W and I am sure your 1100 lumens less than 50W. Check the information and if the current is less than 15A you can use it.

    • @robojax

no you can't . on the high side, the Gate voltage needs be higher the source pin. when you have load of 12V on the source, then gate needs 12V+GSv, if GSv=5V, then you need 12V+5V=17V. for that reason you need gate driver chip which will take care of this for you.
