You would not think Spirit was 22😳 he enjoys being out. Out of interest with six wks to your competition how many times and miles would you do in a wk? Enjoy your relaxed true to life videos. Looking forward to your competition hope you make a video of it.

@@susanlambert8164 Spirit is amazing and I’m very proud of him. He’s done endurance his whole life and here he is healthy and happy and fit and no issues at 22! Your question is actually really difficult to answer. How far we go in a six week program … usually with such a short window we are just looking to tune up horses that have a great fitness baseline. Then it depends on which horses (basic ability) and what our goal is… to complete (because “to finish is to win”) or to be really competitive. I will try to tell more about it over the next few months of conditioning. I will say this - 10 miles at 4mph average would usually only be a goal on a very new horse - like if we were bringing Paris along - so there is no goal to be competitive for this upcoming ride! (Another ride in October though….)

I think you will have to fight our new student Olivia for Paris! I am hoping we will get her back into competing though!
