Thanks for the heart attack. Your channel has revitalized my love for making stuff. Not to mention between your channel and Living Anachronism, my interest in LARP has been peaked.
LARP has always sounded like fun to me. However, I'm now 41 and I really don't want to be the guy that gets asked how the grass tastes. IYKYK. My respawn rate is a lot slower.
@azraelf.6287 don't worry, not all LARP involves a lot of heavy combat, and many have character classes that aren't combat oriented. Also, you might be surprised how many 40+ people LARP, depending on the game. I know of at least one game in Southern California that has a merchant category, and some people even set up actual shops selling necessities (food, extra clothes, misc small gear) for either game money or real money; many of them don't fight at all.
So item 1: Thank you! I just found your channel a few days ago, and you've been great motivation for me to upgrade my current garb and kit. Item 2: My ears perked right up at "I dunno, frickin' explosives!"
I still think an awesome project would be a Wanderer's Wagon to go with the Staff and Bag of the Wanderer. It would be in the same style of the bag and could break down from a hand wagon that can carry all the camp projects and transform into a cot for the Bag/Tent.
Hey there Bug!!! Always nice to see you. I DO like this idea. Be cool to find a bunch of ways to make it expand. Maybe a cot and a table or perhaps it BECOMES the bottom of the tent to protect from the elements? So many possibilities.
@@SkillTree I love it! I would be so excited to see a video of y'all camping or hiking and using all the camp things you've made! Lol, I have them all in a separate playlist that I like to go back and watch!
Even better, to be able to incorporate the bag and the staff of the Wanderer into the wagon "camper ". I have made a handcart/hand trolley that can be used as used as a bedframe and a platform based for a simple singlepole bivvylike tent.
You being at almost 150k is not madness at all. It's expected and to be honest, you deserve a whole lot more :D I honestly can't wait for the implemented changes :) You guys are gonna kill it :D
It'd be great to see channel-curated playlists of the different archetypes going forward, so someone looking for clothier project inspiration can go straight there. P.S. Thank you for sharing this update with us! This channel has always felt transparent to me and I appreciate it.
I think a cool idea for a t-shirt would be to have a drawing of a big tree with lots of branches and different monkeys klimbing and sitting on different branches. The tree would simbolize the skills, and the monkeys us and you
My family are SCA members and semi-active LARPers, and we LOVE your channel! (I play a wizard, my wife is a healer, and our daughter is a shield-maiden.) Keep up the good work!
I am legit making everything to made tutorials for to level up my leather skills. I am almost finished with the slingshot. Went with a scorpion instead of dragon and dyed it oxblood red. Just had to wait for the antiquing to come in today to finish it up.
I love this channel. You make these crafts accessible and not intimidating at all. It was because of you that I found out I LOVE working with leather! Thanks!
Yo, scepter is my favorite caster weapon! Most underrated, imo. It's hard to find something in that short staff/mace range. Usually it's all long staves or wands. I want more casters with the type of scepter like Garnet used in Final Fantasy 9, or a short staff like Card Captor Sakura. It is easier to carry aound than a staff and more usable as a melee weapon than a wand. It's also more historically accurate for priests and monarchs.
@@SkillTreeSome sort of pipe flanged mace with a glass gem in between the flanges, painted gold and silver, with electronics in the hollow part of the hamdle which can do a lazer light show and control other devices remotely?
@@SkillTree I had an idea for maybe PVC pipe for the shaft, but it could work with wood or copper piping as well. Really any piping for the handle. And maybe an old crystal door knob for the top, or maybe a fancy curtain rod. Hope that narrows it down 😅
Even before I discovered you, I always thought about putting together something along the lines of a LARP outfit. Every year I visit a medieval market/spectacle that takes place in a nearby town and from the first time I am fascinated by the costumes worn there and wanted to put together my own. But since I discovered you, I firmly believe that I can actually do it (along with many other ideas I've developed since then). I'm definitely looking forward to what you do next and continuing to level up my skills.
Wow, really like the new ideas for the channel. I always enjoy the different projects. I got into leather crafting because of skill tree, thanks so much.
I got into serious leather crafting, thanks to your videos! I hope to go to Bicolline, in Quebec. It would be my first LARP, and your experiences with ConQuest definitely made me want to go there, too. Keep up the good work, Kit! On another note, we need T-shirts with you pointing to a new skill with "Level Up" on it. Cheers!
I found the channel in the past year and it really got my crafting flow back on. I'm excited to see what these changes will bring and certainly plan on leveling up some of my skills in the upcoming months with both a large cloth project and a large leather project of a size and complexity beyond what I've done thus far. Thanks for all you've taught me and all I'll be learning in the future.
Since i discovered this channel have helped me a lot with my larpering and made me want to create and try what you build. Thank you again for being such an inspiration
Glad you are doing well! as far as merch goes, some that I would like to see would be a challenge coin that would be a good size for flipping/sleight of hand, and belt favors with the skill tree logo and an archetype on it. Most larpers I know enjoy belt favors, and you would be able to show off what kind of crafty things you like to do. Would also make it easy to spot other fans. For projects, I've taken a liking to instrument making even though I don't play any. Anglo saxon lyres are really easy to make for a first instrument especially if you have some basic tools. Lute dulcimers like the seagull m4 are not too hard to make and because of the way they are tuned basically any note order you strum sounds good, just strum the pick and hold the double string down wherever
It's been so much fun watching this channel grow. I stumbled across you a couple years ago when you had like 30k subscribers. I'm exciting to see the new chapter
I like the ideas, and hope the whole "leveling thing" is improved. I like the idea of "novice leathercrafter" and would like videos that lean into that. Like the Leather 101 video where you explain kinds of leather, tannages, thicknesses, things like that. Only after doing that would you work on a project because now you know the kind of leather you need I also like the idea of episdoes where you _don't_ level. Reviews and honing what you already know, rather than always learning something new. Like the War Belt episode. The only thing new was oiling leather, and even then that was a fail. So it makes sense that you don't level up in that episode, but the next episode where you oil leather successfully, you _do_ level up. You were just honing and practicing what you know, so you don't gain any new skills. Just more experience. I'd love to see that, and not just leveling every episode
I am soooooooooo excited to see these changes take place. I can't wait for the new videos and all of the other stuff. I love watching you make things from scratch and then form it in a story line of how you got the idea all the way to the end product. Then you add what you should or could have done to make it better or more unique. So excited to see you excited!
Really excited for the new stuff! Your videos have really inspired me to get back into crafting and creating, and I always love watching them. Thanks so much for the education and inspiration!
Love the channel and looking forward to new fun things from you and Maddie. As for a cool product, I would really like to see a black embroidered patch with the logo in the middle and “keep leveling up you” around the edge. It would look badass on my denim battlevest, and force me to get over my fear of sewing!
It's really cool to see how far you have gone. It's also really cool to see this change because you deserve all the level ups and thx for inspirerimg me and others to get into the art my man.
I found you last year and I just want to say thank you. You have such an amazing energy that it’s an absolute joy to watch even if the project featured might be beyond my current skill level or not something I’d personally make. I personally as merch love patches! Their so much fun to collect and put on things and could be a fun way for subscribers to find each other at events and maybe Patreon members could get an exclusive patch based on their tier level. Also as someone who could legally drink maybe you could share your drink recipes? Or do an episode on mixology and make mock tails for your subscribers who might not be legally able to drink, that could be fun. I love going to smaller cons that have a mixology panel because you can learn a lot about who different flavors and different elements will interact, you could also put it as part of an alchemy skill badge 😉.
Looking forward to seeing how this works out for you. Sounds great and I will continue to follow you for great ideas and DIYs!! Oh, love the way you work with a cocktail in hand!!
I absolutely love this channel! Even have my kids and neighbors into this. I am so glad your not leaving. I actually started my leather working journey because of you guys. Also what jacket are you wearing ! I love it !!!! I want it lol
Honestly, if any other channel told me they were making big changes it would make me anxious but it's you, so it's going to be great! I can't wait to see all the new stuff! You totally deserve it, Kit!
I rarely comment on UA-cam, but I just wanted to let you know I have been following almost since the beginning. And your channel became one of my favourites instantly! I always look forward to every single video, and I love the road this channel has been on. It only gets better and you keep evolving yourself. Exited to see the new changes in action! 🎉
congrats on the soon-to-be 150k! I remember coming across your first bow build from home depot boards and subscribing however long ago that was. calling your rebranding ng+ from here on
I've been following your channel for about 3 years now. And I can honestly say that as a self tought person your videos have been an encredible help. I always look forward to new videos every week. You guys make your videos feel one on one, relatable, personable and easy with communication. I can't wait to see you all to succeed and keep growing. 💜💜💜
I'd say definitely need a shirt, a mug, a sticker, something with an illustration of you holding up a cup of some kind with the caption "Keep leveling up, you." It's like your signature "signing off" catchphrase and seems like it would be the most obvious choice for merch. I feel like there has to be something that could be made that plays off the phrase "You made it to the end screen!" somehow as well. Not sure what, exactly, but still.
Really great that you've got some enthusiasm back! Always good to see. Sounds like the new stuff will help roll things along. Keep up with the great ideas, you inspire people to learn but have fun too 🇬🇧💚
You are so deserving of all your good fortune because you're a rad human and you give so much to your community! It was so great to chat with you earlier! Obviously I have a merch/ swag suggestion.... I'd definitely buy some apparel reppin that sexy whip chain! ;) ;D
this video was great to see. I've watched this channel since pretty much the beginning and it is so awesome to see how far you have come. I'm so happy for you and I cant wait to see where you go in the future. 😊
Merch idea - I need a pin of a drawing of you giving yourself a pat on the back. Optional caption: "Lemme give myself one of these." It's always the most wholesome thing and I love it.
Still think you should make a camper a mobile wagon that turns into a tent but can also be used to carry your larp gear and camping stuff you can even call it the wonderers wagon of many things
Glad you're making the Discord more friendly. I avoid Discord, never liked the layout as much as other alternatives. And glad you're making major attempt to keep in touch with the users/fans/whatever, shows you haven't lost touch with what you started out to do. **hugs** to you all.
Would you be interested in a LARP that wasn't D&D based? How about a 'Vampire the Masquerade' LARP? It's one of the biggest and most powerful groups in the US. Just say the word and you can be a kindred too. And, thank you for staying with us. You have motivated me to start crafting again and i love it. I am disabled and get bored sitting at home doing nothing, so you are helping me to stay as active as i can. Thank you.
I have been looking for a reuse of old book covers for projects. I have tons of filled notebooks/sketchbooks filled in, and I love the covers. I want to make new ones by reusing the covers, but everyone deconstructs the book and hole punches it. Not what I'm looking for. What would be your take?
Big thank from the silent french community Hope you and everyone working behind the scene continu to level up the Chanel ! Un grand merci de la communauté silencieuse française J'espère que toi et ceux qui travaillent dans l'ombre continueront de level up cette chaîne ! Ps: sorry if i make a mistake translating
If you're ever going on vacation to Sweden, make sure it's week 32. Yes, we number our weeks. Visby Mediaval Week is always week 32. And it's in Visby, just as the name says. Visby is on the island of Gotland. Plan ahead, make sure to come and visit!
Excited for upcoming changes. I am making a leather wallet thanks to your inspiration. This is my first leather project. Attending a large LARP event sounds like fun.
Speakin for myself... Im glad your here and also glad I found you. 👍 ETA Im hopin you wont give up your leathercraftin or your tailorin skill teachins.
As useful as your videos are currently, your new content will be even more helpful and structured! I am so excited to see where you guys are going to take this.
I always loved the leveling up thing, but I kinda also always thought a real skill tree was missing. Maybe you could group the individual skills needed to ascend a stage within a "class" into actuall skilltrees?
Glad to see you guys leveling up :D As for the merch, I think it would be a good opportunity to make T-shirts with the different skill levels that you're going to implement here. I'd love an "journeyman clothier" T-shirt!
Never heard of you. Not quite sure what you do. But your channel name and vibe got me to subscribe. I love comparing real life to video games. Lately, it's just been a grind. Thanks for being fun.
I like the organizational changes, asw it makes things simpler. And I love your videos! You make things a lot of fun. One ask, though: could you make a basic safety video for each category that you can refer back to in other videos? If you don't already have them, of course. Though an update might be in order.
It is one of my favorite channels! Even the recent barrage of commercial interruptions won’t dissuade me from watching! Even those highly suspect commercials using fake AI celebrity voices won’t deter me from leveling up! But it does worry me how those commercials are proliferating! They feel like SPAM so I just hit the back button and restart your video until I get in!
Good to see you continuing to follow your passion and bring us all along on your adventure! 😁 Have you tried weaving baskets at all? I’ve been inspired by your videos and I’m looking to make some fantasy themed projects made from foraged natural materials!
I love this channel. Your videos inspired me to make my own quality stuff of my own. If your like me, you like making stuff by hand for the fun and experience of it. These videos have allowed me to do that, and have fueled my love for Fantasy looking things. I can't wait to see what the future of this channel brings.
With growing the channel, have there been any considerations to having "an apprentice of the day" where (if logistics work out) someone may join you on a project for a video? I only ask since it has been fun to see others join the screen from time to time with different ways to tackle a project. Could even be a friendly competition to see that videos topic done in multiple ways at once.
I'd recommend adding artisan for pottery, sculpture, foam, carving, soap candles, glass work etc.
This my friend, is genius
This would be something I'm interested in.
I'm so glad you're not quitting UA-cam.
Thank you for the constant inspiration and joy your videos provide.
Thank you for all that you share, including your joy in creating. While we are a community, you are the heart.
Thank you. That means the world to me that you think so and that you enjoy what we do here! Here is to leveling up together!
Eloquently said! I second that! We love you, change is good but never change! ;)
In other words: we are the branches and he is the stem

Big thank from the silent french community
Hope you and everyone working behind the scene continu to level up the Chanel !
Un grand merci de la communauté silencieuse française
J'espère que toi et ceux qui travaillent dans l'ombre continueront de level up cette chaîne !
Ps: sorry if i make a mistake translating
Can’t wait to see you guys soon as Keeper Magnus. Excited to see what you all bring to the table in the new year.
If you're ever going on vacation to Sweden, make sure it's week 32. Yes, we number our weeks. Visby Mediaval Week is always week 32. And it's in Visby, just as the name says. Visby is on the island of Gotland. Plan ahead, make sure to come and visit!
This is awesome news! Very excited to see where all this goes, and thank you for not being all click bait lol and breaking it down right away.
Excited for upcoming changes. I am making a leather wallet thanks to your inspiration. This is my first leather project. Attending a large LARP event sounds like fun.
I've been liking the reorganization of the discord, easier to navigate, so thanks! ^_^
Love the energy you bring to the table. Encourages me to keep going. Love the videos.
Speakin for myself...
Im glad your here and also glad I found you. 👍
ETA
Im hopin you wont give up your leathercraftin or your tailorin skill teachins.
Not at all!! They are two of the archetypes we will be focusing on!!
Thank you are always for your inspirational and informational content, can't wait to see what is in store in the future!!!
As useful as your videos are currently, your new content will be even more helpful and structured! I am so excited to see where you guys are going to take this.
I am so excited about this upgrade to your channel!! I can't wait to go on this adventure with you. ❤ 1:42
Looking forward to the change on the channel. Was thinking something similar for the leveling up.
I gotta tell you man. I watched one leather vid from ya and was hooked because of your damenor/character. Love this chanel.
Do you think you would ever do skills in 3d modeling? Like in blender?
Oooo fancy lv up. Looks good and sounds good. Keep up the epic work and excited to see what you lv up in too
Alright, need to know whatcha mixed up at the start! Gotta level up!
I always loved the leveling up thing, but I kinda also always thought a real skill tree was missing. Maybe you could group the individual skills needed to ascend a stage within a "class" into actuall skilltrees?
Adore you and your channel, bud. Keep it up! I hope it paysoff.
OOOH I just had a merch idea, pin and/or patch sets for each of the “archetypes” with one for each rank! So we can rep our progress!
Glad to see you guys leveling up :D
As for the merch, I think it would be a good opportunity to make T-shirts with the different skill levels that you're going to implement here.
Love the videos, the content, the discord & the channel! I wish you the best of luck into perpetuity!
Also super cool to see my wagon at the end there
It is one of my favorite channels!
Have you tried weaving baskets at all?
I’ve been inspired by your videos and I’m looking to make some fantasy themed projects made from foraged natural materials!
I love this channel. Your videos inspired me to make my own quality stuff of my own. If your like me, you like making stuff by hand for the fun and experience of it. These videos have allowed me to do that, and have fueled my love for Fantasy looking things. I can't wait to see what the future of this channel brings.
I'm not going to lie, I saw the title and my heart sank. I'm glad you guys aren't leaving.
Maybe make a level up PDF packet with checkboxes and projects to reference so people can track their own progress?
Congratulations on growing the channel
I find discord in general chaotic and overwhelming. I have never found my way in to any discord server.
Same here. I wish old school forums were still a thing. Those were awesome.
