I think Sono's voice is quite unique and very easy to differentiate from other jrocker soloists. I think that's a good thing. :)

@jamondicotomico Ayame is a boy, the old keyboardest and i think bass were girls but they left/kick out the band because of problems i belive. not to sure about the details.

MUCC's new "mediocre" music is still 10 times better than what most of the younger bands are releasing, imo. I didn't see anything about newer bands? The OP was looking for vocals that don't "bother the fuck out of them". There are a bunch of younger VK bands I've found quite good. NoGoD would be on the list, Sel'm, exist†trace, girugamesh, cocklobin, SKULL, Suicide Ali, and BAELSCOPE are a few.
my first impressions were: Really powerfull song...and Sono needs a 9 course meal. :D

It took me a long time to get used to the vibrato. And I'm still not a big fan of the bands with higher pitched lead singers. Maybe you should try some bands with singers in a lower register like MUCC or BUCK-TICK? You might like them more too.

Not trying to be rude here, but I don't think you actually know the definition of mediocre. girugamesh wouldn't be half as popular as they are if they were just mediocre. Their guitars may not be flashy, but their songs are catchy and well composed. I tend to like bands who have more versatility in their catalogs. Not just a classically trained guitarist.
