@@Lvnasixi think i read somewhere that it's still not independent completely because YG still have shares, but majority of the shares are already own by TEDDY so he has the controls now
During 2022, TheBlackLabel completed their transition from being a subsidiary of YG Entertainment to being an associate at YG Entertainment. In business terms: A parent company owns more than 50% of the subsidiary and has overriding control over & unfettered access to the subsidiary. A parent company owns 20-49% of an associate company and does not have overriding control over or unfettered access to the associate. In 2022, after the transition was finalized, Teddy announced he had been developing his own 5th gen girl group and TheBlackLabel confirmed that they had trainees that were previously signed on as models, actresses, and dancers due to being prohibited from having idol trainees while under YG Entertainment as a subsidiary. In addition, TheBlackLabel moved out of the old YG building to a new building that has nothing to do with YG Entertainment. As of Q2 2024, the top three shareholders of TheBlackLabel are Teddy (42%), Saehan Venture Investment (28%), and YG Entertainment (21%). During their last shareholders meeting, Teddy disclosed that he intends for TheBlackLabel to be independent of YG Entertainment within the next two years.
@@Lvnasix You're wrong lol. YG still owns 21% of the company. They're not a sublabel but they're an associate company for sure. So they're still related to YG. And as long as Teddy will be in charge, you know that's YG flavor all over.
In the opening frame starting from the left with the white top - Gawon (Korean-American - born in the USA - 19), Anna (Japanese - 18), Ella (Korean-American - born in Los Angeles - 15), Narin (Korean - 17) and Sooin (Korean - 19). this was a good debut for me and for it's teddy so i already kind of expected something like this. but i'm surprised with their vocal tones, they sound amazing. their styles and overall like look is pretty cool!! hoping something more different for their next song tho like something that would really make them standout ifykwim
ive seen a lot of shit about this debut but song aside... their voicessss my god im in love its not the overly high pitched cutesy voice we hear over and over again in Kpop. LOVE
its to early but i need a gawoon and rami collab the song is good so far Narin has the best pressence gawoon's vocals are good i wish we saw more from anna
The Brazilian funk beats at the end was my fav part. I agree, they are a pretty promising group. I hope the Black Label keeps pushing them and not just in the way they promote Somi with one release a year.
Meow is really going to showcase each of the members individual voices and range as an artist and vocalist that you will really enjoy and enjoy, the girl who looks like Danielle from New Jeans is Ella Gross, she was a model and actress before she was a trainee, and she is the only one that people say looks like Jennie, her aura, her look and the way she speaks are similar to Jennie. and she is also Blackpink's sister, she is close to Lisa, Rosé, Jisoo and Jennie. also Jennie herself has said that Ella is her daughter, because in a way they raised her, she was 10 when they met and became friends. If you take the two Vs and turn them upside down, you get cat ears... The Brazilian funk at the end is my favorite part. Solid debut! the girls are beautiful and have powerful voices that will surprise you a lot in another song with more singing time from each one. I loved it and WAIT. ❤👏.
Speaking in technical terms Teddy did not create BlackPink, YG created them and Teddy was their producer. This is Teddy’s first ever girl group he has created.
Eh. Another "Im pretty and youre giving me your money" song. Im not impressed. Nothing special in the vocals so far. Im not hating on them. Maybe theyll come with something better but its a fairly boring debut song to me.
As a debut I feel like thing song is powerful and can bring attention to the girls. While the chorus is weaker it isn’t the worst chorus I have heard this year. Unfortunately repetitive one word choruses are a YG/TBL standard so I don’t know why people are surprised.
Im sorry I dont like the song at all and I hope they give IZNA good songs especially for debut 🙏 and the video very weird. But the girls vocals are nice and they look very pretty
@@emilyhoran8164 yes they don’t but I don’t like how people are saying they don’t like it and people full on rude abt it like??? They were just like that to Babymonster

they are form The Black Label, where Somi is and its ofc sub Label of YG!!!! Pretty Good debut song!
They aren’t a sub label under YG anymore. They separated and became its own independent company

Their attitude was a lit 🔥. Btw nice reaction
They have their own rami in Gawon and that’s crazyyyy
it's so catchy even on first listen i love their vocal runs and the dance break SLAYS
As expected from top YG producer TEDDY. Honestly anything he touches is gold...first with 2NE1 and now MEOVV.

Teddy actually didn't produce or compose the song. He just participated in some lyrics.
