- I thought, "Oh, I want to work on my Strat," so I bought a Strat, and while I was working on it, I got a request for a refinish and overhaul of the Strat.
Such is life, isn't it?
The black lacquer really shines beautifully. The gloss has a richness and depth to it.
It just takes an incredible amount of work to create that atmosphere.
I wish I had a bigger buffing pad!
This time, I finished most of the work with a small buffing tool attached to the drill and hand polishing.
I need a buff that can polish the sides and contours...
In June, the humidity and temperature can make it difficult to paint, so it was just in time.
I also polished the parts and frets.
I polished the frets without rubbing them together.
Rust and rattling on the surface of the frets can affect the feel of the guitar.
It changes the playability and the extension of the sound, and also makes me smile when it's clean.
I also made the nut.

あ、ストラトいじりたいな〜と思ってストラトを仕入れていじっていたらストラトのリフィニッシュとオーバーホールのご依頼が来ました。
人生そんなもんですよね。
黒いラッカーは本当に美しく光ります。光沢に潤いと深みがある感じ。
ただその雰囲気を出すのは信じられない労力が必要です。
あ〜大きなバフほしぃなぁ〜
今回はドリルに付ける小さいバフと手磨きでほとんど仕上げました。
サイドとコンターを磨けるバフ作ろ・・・
６月になると湿度とか温度とかで塗装に苦労してできないこともあるのでギリギリのタイミングでした。
パーツやフレットも磨きました。
フレットはすり合わせ無しで表面研磨。
フレット表面のサビ、ガタツキは演奏感に大きく響きますので、
弾きやすさとか、音の伸びなんかが変わりますし、あと綺麗だとニヤニヤしちゃう。
ナットも作りました。

I love how you take the time and restore everything on this guitar. Even polishing and restoring the metal parts rather then simply swap them out for new parts.

You do excellent craft work. When you were dressing the frets. Your actually doing the work that's done on expensive American Stratocasters. The ones from Mexico, lack that feel of the fret board and frets. Lacking in the complete dressing of the frets. You can feel it under your fingers. Great job!
The way this guitar was pulled apart and everything was restored to factory-new condition was amazing. I picked up a 95 Tex-Mex Strat in Vintage White back in April as a birthday present and would love to restore the neck plate, the tuning keys, the bridge saddles and the strap pins to their original looks. Love how this video turned out.

私も最近ストラトタイプを手に入れましたが、ゴールドパーツ錆びてパーツも廃盤で・・・
お願いしたいなぁ
ゴールドパーツは何してもはげてくるものなので、諦めるか、再メッキするか、汎用品にパーツ交換するのがおすすめです。
基本的にギターパーツは汎用性があるので着くものを探すのもおすすめ。

2点支持のブリッジなのにメーカーでも使えるパーツが無いってｗ
アマゾンに安い2点支持のゴールドブリッジがあるので
それでとりあえず加工無しで付けばいいんですけど
別にゴールドパーツにこだわりは無いので、オクで仕入れたフェルナンデス純正のクロームのブリッジが加工無しで付きそうですから
ペグもクロームに替えてゴールドパーツはナットだけになりそうですw
手先の器用さ、ギターの特徴、塗装の繊細さなど感動ばかりですね💦
自分のギターも復活させていただきたい、、
オーバーホールのみだったら安く出来るのでおススメです。ご相談待ってます！

フレットの磨きで、ヴィブラートやチョーキングの抵抗が変わってきます。
あとサビサビの弦でも変わってきて、フレットの減りに少し関係してきます。
メンテは大事ってことですね

Excellent job once again!..I notice that you did not use heat to scrape this finish off. Was this a poly finish and do you only use the iron for lacquer?..I never thought to use a Dremel to polish frets..always used micro mesh and lots of rubbing..thanks for posting!!

You have really great videos, Andy. What grade of sandpaper are you using to polish the frets, and what type of polish?
Sandpaper used to polish frets is # 400, # 600 # 800 # 1000 # 1500 # 2000.
You can start with 600 if you are beautiful.
@@Andybassguitar what polish did you apply when polishing the frets? I've got a 95 Mexican made Strat where, with just one look, you can tell needs some work.

you should tin the exposed wire and then run it through the eye to solder. hook it, solder and it'd be ready for space travel.

What do you use to fill the pores before the black paint?
At this time I am applying sanding sealer.

デカールを消して塗装するしかないので、デカールを用意するか、ネット上にデータがあれば再現可能ですね。

I use a metal polish called pikal, which is popular in Japan.
You even polish the whatchamadingers and the thingamajigs. That's what I call meticulous.
this is just a refin, the guitar was perfect, also a restoration is for instruments that really really need it

あ、アンダーコート吹いてます。透明なのを吹いてる時が中塗りです。
順番的には、目と目シーラー、センディングシーラー、着色、クリア塗装になります。
塗装中にカメラを回すのをためらって全部写してません。

私のソニックブルー号は白、濃いめのブルー、そしてソニックブルーの3層です。あ、クリアーもかな？
黒はアンダー塗装を透かすことがほぼないのでカラーは一層ですね。

Why would you strip off the beautiful sunburst for Black? Black is the worst color, so many black instruments out there. Plus this was a nitrocellulose finish!!!

Why remove all the finish just to paint it black? Lots of unneccesary work when all you needed to do was scuff sand then paint!
In the case of guitar refinish, all paint is stripped and then repainted. This is refinish.
Painting over paint is not good for sound.
Don't like black guitars.
