I would NEVER touch a blend with menthol! A blend that is very easy to find and I thoroughly enjoy is Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic. It barely falls into the realm of aromatic. Latakia English blends are wonderful. Also fake flavored pipe tobacco has a glycol type dressing that is hard to keep lit at times. Makes it wet and sticky. Reg non flavored blends just smoke better. In my opinion.

If your pipe starts to go out place your first two fingers on the bowl and take a couple puffs. That will generally bring the embers back to life with out relighting with a match or lighter. Generally.

I can’t describe why but it makes me feel like a little kid sitting on my grandpa’s lap. And he didn’t even smoke. It’s probably similar to your English blend in this video but there is a comforting cologne sent to it that I love. If you want raw deep tobacco flavor with a slight spicy kick then Victorian mixture by Peterson is the way to go. If you want a dark fired bomb that makes you feel like you just ate a meal then the Peterson Night cap is where it’s at. I love the pipe videos so much because pipes are the smallest demographic in the tobacco world. And it’s the least harmful too. I want to see you guys review Cornell & Diehl's Bayou night. You guys have to try a good English blend like G.L. Pease Quiet Nights or Hearth and Home Blackhouse or white knight. These English blends will blow your mind, and you will realize a new realm of pipe tobaccos that you didn't know existed.
I really enjoy pipes, they are great for when you dont have an hour or two to dedicate to a cigar and generally if your not using aromatic tobacco there is not that much smoke so you dont smoke up a room like you would with a cigar. And you have many choice of aromatic or English blend. I suggest you Cao Eileen's dream or C&D Nutty Irishman both delicious aromatic. I also like C&D Mississipi Mud, a non aromatic with a nice smokey smell and some nice flavor.

You should try the palm swirl packing method. It works amazingly for most cuts, not including flake, unless it’s been broken way down.

I don’t think I ever want to taste that tobacco in any of my pipes especially if the menthol is as strong as you’re saying.
I was suprised it actually didnt stick around loong but it did linger for the next bowl deff could mess up a bowl or 2 or more
On pipe packing Try the frank method for an English , it works really nice.
I haven’t smoked my pipe in a while, I do have a lot of pipe tobacco aging. Might need to bust them out again.
I like to tamp and puff at the same time in the early lighting process. It seems to get a long lasting cherry.

Pipe smoking seems like a hassle
It’s a hobby for the patient person
There is definitely a steeper learning curve than cigars. Once you get the hang of it it’s pretty easy to get it going consistently.
