Thank you for coming back to this band. I knew you'd like them more if you gave them a second chance. As I said in the first reaction, you can only go up from there. I'm surprised that they didn't have you watch their live performance of this song, I highly recommend you check it out in your time if you plan to listen to this song again. This song is also off of their first album. I'd love to see a couple of songs from their second album, Beyond the Veil next. Their progression of sound is awesome to me. I love this band regardless. Vibeke Stein's vocals still give me chills. Looking very forward to any more reactions to this band. Thank you good sir.

Don't underestimate the old school Norwegian Goth-Metal. I used to listen to a lot of those bands for like 15-25++ years ago. Sirenia (still active and same founder as Tristania), Theatre of Tragedy, Tristania, Trail of Tears, etc...
Haven't heard this song in over a decade.
Thanks to those who made DH evaluate this

Glad you enjoyed this song a lot more! Honestly, Tristania is a very diverse band, sounding quite different from album to album. From this, Widow's Weeds, my favourite is definitely December Elegy - I love the violin solo there. Out of their second, considerably darker album, I can recommend Heretique. Their third album, World of Glass, might as well be my favourite album of all time and it's their most symphonic album, with Crushed Dreams being the stand out song for me. Its production holds up incredibly.
Their two albums following that are a bit more stripped down with Ashes being a really dirty album. I'd recommend Circus, Bird or Shadowman from that. Illumination is a delight with The Raven, Mercyside or Open Ground.
After that, there were big line up changes, leading to a more modern, aggressive and catchy sound, which I love as well. Amnesia, Sirens, Illumination from Rubicon are songs I love dearly, from their last album Darkest White it's Himmelfall, Cypher or the title track.

There were times, around 20+ years ago when only listening to Bands like Tristania, Sins of my Beloved and Theatre of Tragedy. This music is all about feel and less technics or something else.

Wow, I’m surprised to see this band on here, though in all truth I’d be surprised to see them almost anywhere. Definitely not a group that’s on everybody’s radar. But I think they’re good. I first heard them when I was watching a kind of livestream by a girl who was basically a Goth model. At some point I realized a cool-sounding metal song was playing in the background. Then, helpfully, the title and band were put onscreen. And the track sounded a lot like this one, to be honest. So I hunted down some of their stuff online, and liked it. As far as a description, I guess this is a combo of Gothic + symphonic metal. To me it actually has some grace to it, instead of unintelligible noise. My younger Goth self would have eaten this material up, if I’d heard them back in the day.
