Im a 40K super fan and have read the first 40 HH books. I have been able to buy all of them (including the SOT series) accept for The Silent War and Old Earth (Very tough to find and VERY expensive). I’m obsessed with 40K and am as into the models (I’ve got 16 2000 point armies) as I am the lord. When I started reading the series, I wanted to consume all of it, I didn’t want to come across some reference in a later book and not know what was going on, so I read them all in order. I started in 2016 and looking back now there are quite a few I could have skipped. Damnation of Pythos comes to mind. It’s pretty horrible and has very little to do with the HH series. I’m a Dark Angels fanboy and I hated Descent of Angels. Most of the entries are solid, but there are a couple duds for sure.
Thanks for this mate! I'm very new to 40k novels, not even started yet in fact! So this video has really helped me
Thank you for this video. I just finished 3rd book of horus heresy and got overwhelmed after finding out how many there are in total.

Games Workshop has a really wide range of writers. Even per writer, the results are often mixed. It certainly keeps it interesting for reviews!
This is great!! I just read the first novel and already wondering how best to navigate this series. Thanks 👏
Great off the cuff discussion!
The first four books are fairly straight forward, but then you get to book 5! :D
"If you like the word bearers."
Who the f likes the word bearers?
Great vid by the way
The first heretic is one of the better books in the series in my opinion. Also if your a chaos fan there’s not many better than the word bearers
