I don't think that RHOP will ever be able to have a productive conversation about colorism because it starts with production. Robyn and Gizelle have coasted for years, and Gizelle gets a lot of undeserved recognition from Andy and the network. It's wild that this is the first season Gizelle didn't have first chair despite never bringing anything to the show. If Wendy and Candiace were as closed off as those two, they would be fired. Obviously they can't say that though, and I wouldn't trust that the producers would keep that in the edit.
Got a full hysterectomy at 32 the pain I endured for all these years I would have done anything its crazy I later found out that nearly all the women around me in my family had to get fibroids and some their uterus removed and NEVER spoke of it we have been going through it for a long time but this generation is talking about it
I think the colorism of RHOP is hard to ever shake truly bc its in the original conception of the show itself. We all know damn well that the producers on the show intentionally casted the show to be Black but with light-skinned and mixed race Black people in an attempt to look different from the women of RHOA. I think it would be FAR more helpful if the producers of the show were interviewed and asked what led them to cast women who look like Robyn, Gizelle, Ashley, Katie and Karen. The original "sin" of the show is casting, but the women take the brunt of the conversation and clearly it is beyond their ability to navigate it. In addition, I'm sorry, but also there is a lack of understanding of what colorism is and isn't with many people in the viewing audience.
Yikes some of these comments! Y’all are conditioned to be hard and emotionless, like Gizelle I see! Ain’t no way y’all are seriously typing that y’all would be mad at some for crying for you. That’s mind boggling! Candiace cried with Robyn JUST last season when Rob spoke about the death of her dear friend. Candiace and Robyn weren’t even on good terms at that point and no one said Candiace was making it about herself. She’s just an emotional person. I’m convinced y’all wouldn’t have echoed this nonsense if Gizelle didn’t say during the show. Y’all just don’t like Candiace.

I’m just waiting for the day that TMZ or someone breaks the news that Robyn Dixon is getting a divorce AGAIN from Juan. Her saying that they’re happy together was insane to me. Ain’t no fuckin way.
Wow. Waiting on the downfall of anyone’s marriage is diabolical. You have to be one special kind of lonely, miserable, unhinged and unstable person to want to see anybody fail in life. I swear this world gets sicker by the day.
@@CandieP First of all I’m none of those things thank you very much. I may not like Robyn but, I’m still very much a girls girl, and when I see a marriage that is CLEARLY failing yes I want her to be free. And lonely? Miserable? Not at all, I’m happily engaged 😁. But let’s be for real. A lot of these marriages on Housewives haven’t been lasting lately and it’s usually due to some toxic shit. Robyn crying to avoid being held accountable for her colorist bullying is such a classic weaponisation of light-skin privilege. I wish, someone had casually mentioned it at the time bec. if Robyn is "comfortable" enough to be a bully, she is definitely "comfortable" enough to be challenged on it: abusers and their "thin" skin piss me off.

I too watch Ready To Love - and have been viewing since Season 1. The quality of the cast has consistently gone down hill. Yeah Black women and fibroids (and cie) is a global pandemic in the diaspora and doctors are so disinterested, it breaks my heart. We arent fully human deserving of research and care to these people. Anyway, my mom has some, I had some and I told my younger sister to get tested and she had some as well. 🙃
Though Gizelle held this veneer of pride in her blackness, don’t forget she made super anti-black comments about Ashley’s afro when she first met the group
Whew Chile. The division on both sides (dark skins against light brights and vice versa) is so counterproductive. Black folk can’t even focus on progression because too many of us are too focused on complexion. Sad state of affairs we are living in.
Honey, you're done then because if they saw this for what it was NONE of this crap would've hit our TV screens. Just like they cut the scene of Wendy speaking to Nneka in their native tongue, they would've cut this mess, especially during the season with that disgusting shrine stuff. Bravo has cut full people out of shows, i.e. Below Deck.
I appreciate Mia trying to save the show too...I think Gordon is in on the BS train they think 🤔 we care about. Ink or whoever this radio host is... is probably getting played for views and content.
Regarding your dream: are you a Taurus rising? Cause then eclipse was in Aries which rules your 12th house which is about hospitals, dreams, generational patterns, hidden things. Sounds like you being so comfortable and confident in what your situation is and being so loved and feeling safe and desired is triggering the patriarchy that you internalized and your killing that part in your dream
I know we hate Gisele but I’m on her side concerning her dad death. Why are you crying?? I don’t like you and you don’t like me. It’s okay to cry but Candace had her tissue already. Why are you asking for another…It’s feels like tactic that Candace uses to garner sympathy and allows her to attack people. Candace did it to Monique, Rob and Gisele. If Candace believes she hasn’t experienced colorism but then continues to bring it up is insane. Why should Rob and Gisele engage? Candace said it didn’t happen so what do we need to talk about. I would prefer Candace to be very direct in this conversation. I believe you have colorist tendencies because of 1.2.3. But she said you treat me different from others based on my skin tone then say it didn’t happened then call Rob and Gisele white adjacent then say I don’t believe they are colorist. It’s confusing
She didn’t say she doesn’t experience colorism she said she doesn’t think they are colorists. Do they hate all dark skinned people? No. Do they have double standards for light skinned folks? Yes. (I think they are colorists but I know that Candiace can’t say that)
You asking why Candiace was crying because Gizelle was crying about her dead dad but didn't question why Robyn was crying that's Gizelle (not Robyn ) was called out at the previous reunion.
@@zleo7054 it’s not about Candace crying. It’s about Candace already had a tissue in hand. Andy was looking at Gisele and then Candace asked Andy for another tissue. Drawing attention to her crying.
@@arianna5270 here we go with the word games. If someone commits a crime they are a criminal. If someone calls me the n word in a hostile matter they are a racist. Candace was fine with this kind of behavior in regards to Monique. It’s was turned on her and now Gisele ashley and rob are treating her differently based on her skin tone.
Unpopular opinion, I agreed with Giselle. I know. I know. I know cuz I don't even like Giselle but I don't give a s*** if you're crying. I just lost my dad. I don't give a s*** about your feelings. I don't care if you're crying for me. I don't care because it ain't about you. But I also blame Andy. Because Andy, why are you highlighting Candice if Candice is crying for her because she's having a general emotion about her losing her father and she's having like an emotional connection to that. Let her have that over there. But don't bring it into my segment. This is my dad. I lost him. I loved him. I don't give a s*** about nobody else at this moment. Especially somebody who was just as mean and nasty to me as I was to them. So if actually that was me in my time of grief and he mentioned that I would have went off on Andy and then I would have went off on her. But like what the f*** you crying for. Because in my grief should have turned to anger cuz I don't like you and we don't like each other. And I get what everybody saying she was having an emotional moment because again losing a parent is an emotional thing. But I don't give a f*** it ain't about you. It's about me losing my dad. That's all I care about.
I agree with you on this point because Karen didn't cry. Giz grabbed her hand when Andy mentioned her father because Karen has experienced the deaths of her parents and Karen said that Giz reached out.
Omg your hate for the light skinned women on Potomac is like gross and not cute and is not helping the colorism discussion. Candace was shockingly cruel this season. Like had me shook, some of the cruelty that spewed out her mouth. It’s getting old and it’s starting to sound bitter. There more pressing topic affecting Black women.
Kimberly, pray that you never get old, if you're not careful that will be your neck. Because when you get older, you neck can go one of two ways, scrawny or flabby. That's it. BTW, Candace's tears for Gizelle's dad was making his death about HER. Candace is always about ME ME ME. Believe me, I'm older and I know a lot of women like Candace. Also, it seems that people have no problems with Candace talking about Gizelle....but that's because they like Candace.
A lot of people dislike Candiace because she wants to be Gizelle's friend. Gizelle has stabbed her in the back so many times throughout the run of this show, and the only time she didn't forgive her was when she tried to insinuate that her husband was a predator. That's why I don't think Candiace's tears were fake, because she's been the green eyed bandit doormat for how many seasons now? Showing emotion for someone is not making it about you either. Maybe that's a generational thing though.
Potomac is way too toxic and triggering. I stopped watching after last season and the whole colorism convo. I do watch my favorite reviewers and the clips were enough to confirm my decision to leave that show over there.

I love Ready to Love. It seems more realistic than other reality shows.
agreeeeed
My man at the time gave me a key but he wouldn't let me see his phone...so...🤷🏿♀️
l had two abdominal myomectomies…down for the conversation
Please don’t be better 😂
I don't regret my surgery
I watch Ready to Love. Love the show but to your point, there’s a gap between the men and women.
Lmaoo not Mia need practice on the lies but she do! I hope next season she gets front and center
❤❤❤❤❤
What surgery did she have ? I’m 38 and I had to have a hysterectomy but I’ve had all my kids but I was just wondering?
Myomectomy
Chaz is so manipulative omg he was a terror!
Breakfast in bed addition
I think G gonna reveal his health problems
Regarding your dream: are you a Taurus rising? Cause then eclipse was in Aries which rules your 12th house which is about hospitals, dreams, generational patterns, hidden things. Sounds like you being so comfortable and confident in what your situation is and being so loved and feeling safe and desired is triggering the patriarchy that you internalized and your killing that part in your dream
I am not trying to offer any kind of reading 🤣🤣🤣
The girls just can’t show some sympathy in peace.
I wanna see your face 🥹
I so agree
I agree with you on this point because Karen didn't cry. Giz grabbed her hand when Andy mentioned her father because Karen has experienced the deaths of her parents and Karen said that Giz reached out.
You ate this one right here. I felt the same. Grief is a shared experience but let’s allow ppl to have their moment.
But...🤔🤔😂 wasn't ashley crying too?
@@yelxebi.392 yeah but Andy didn’t point her out … so I think Andy was to blame for this momentz
19:55 I don't fuck with Candace for a lot of reasons, but that colorism conversation was the nail in the coffin
Having sympathy for someone is not making a situation about yourself. Women like that are just nasty.
Can you give three examples of Candice making a situation about her?
Seek help and healing...
This is nonsense. Andy asked candiace the question but all the girls had tears in that moment, be serious.
Why are you doing a recap with a blank purple screen with stars flashing? This makes no sense!
It’s a podcast she normally does on her Patreon
