    05:32 oscillating mechanism
    16:29 legs and wheels
    22:08 tilting mechanism
    24:39 table top
    30:41 sanding drums

+ Inventive as ever! Hat's really smart use of existing parts. Where do you live? Soviet stuff is very hard to get here in the netherlands😉 I can only wish I could be as good at metalwork as you are.
The ony way to get the big spindle to run smoother is by turning it straight on a lathe. That can be s simple construction like bolting it over an axle with bearings n both sides. Then sanding it round doesn't vibrate as much. Those vibrations give a larger movement at the top of the spindle than at the bottom. That's why you can't get them out with running it from a single sided bearing.

These are the types of builds I really enjoy watching. Practical, useful, not too difficult to duplicate, and very creative ideas. Your brilliance, Sir, never ceases to amaze me! You are in the top 5 of the best creative UA-cam builders on this site. I have been watching you since the beginning of your channel, and your videos just keep getting better as time clicks past.
The format of your channel with no music and even no talking is my favorite to watch, but it takes a lot of talent on behalf of the content provider, you. You can covey the project in a way that is very easy to follow and not everyone can do that. Even if you spoke in your native language, I would still be able to follow whether I understand your language or not thanks to your format. Thank you as always, my friend, for sharing your talent with us all and for making my day a bit brighter. Well done!!!

Nicely designed and manufactured. The reason the large diameter is vibrating is because your only attachment is below the table. So any irregularities will be amplified. Other than making the support shaft solid and balanced perfect, you will just have to deal with it... Thumbs Up! My Grizzly spindle sander has the motor shaft (armature) extend all the way up to the top of every diameter spindle setup. So that helps control the vibrations of any of the diameter spindles installed.

Very nice! The vibration with the larger spindle most likely has to do with the laminated plywood circles having some inconsistencies in the layers (voids, denser wood in some places, etc.) creating the vibration when spun. If you have any MDF laying around, that might make for a more balance material for the larger spindle.

      First of all, nice job!
You can clearly see from the video the big one is spinning out of center. Most lickely due to unbalance and long but thin spindle axle.
      No (wood) lathe around?
A way around it is to make a "brace" for the spindle with a bearing to stabelize the spindle and then sand it with your blok to make it more consistent. After tbat you can balance the big one on the axle!
This should take care of most or all of the vibration.
      Hope this helps

My suggestion would be to make your arbor for the larger drum a larger diameter. That’s a pretty thin piece of tubing you used. Try something bigger diameter and after you have put on all the wood pieces you could try to static balance the spindle. I believe that would solve all of your wobble. Remember weebles wobble but don’t fall down 😂😂. Seriously I think you should try it. Otherwise I’m very impressed! I’ve been a toolmaker for 50 + years and find your skills to be awesome! I really like how you made the video too 🤙🏻🤙🏻. Well done young man.

+ Great job my friend. Thank you for making this video.
The bigger diameter sander spindle vibrates because it needs to run much more concentric. Set up a square on the table top close to the spindle and turn it until you find the high and low spots, then lightly tap the top end of the spindle to true it up. The closer you get it run concentric, the lesser the vibration you will get.
Once again, thank you for the video. You did a fantastic job.

great idea! and flawless, no-nonsense execution. The vibration it's due (most likely) to the coupling and using a threaded laminated rod for the extension of the motor spindle. Maybe use a turned 1 piece shaft that has a register taper on the table side so it centers the drums, and has a counterbore for assuring better concentricity at the motor end.

Hi Gregory, very Impressive! I realy would to start to rebuild it immediatly, but unfortuately, I dont have enough space in my little workshop.
For the wobbly spindle, I think:
Threaded rods are mostly not exactly straight and the weight on the end of the spindle (the added wood) let the tiny wobble of the rod rock up tho this shaking. Also the wood could be not exact ballanced.
I had this Problem with a homemade disc-sander. The disk was made of Plywood and was shaking too. the only solution with this problem was to make the disk from a more uniform material. I took MDF, and the shaking was done...
EDIT: Also if the Pipe is'nt cut EXACTLY 90°, then this could also result in this wobble...
    Keep going...

Hello, thank you for your comment. Yes, I checked the big sanding drum and it's totally unbalanced plus it's not perfectly round. First I will try to fix the geometry on the lathe, if not helps - will have to change the plywood to more uniform material as you said. Thanks

Very nice job. Regarding on how to eliminate those vibrations. First turn the wooden circles until they rotate perfectly around the spindle. Then glue the sandpaper and repeat the finishing operation. Also check of that spindle is perfectly straight. If not, use another one.

very nice design and as far as the vibration goes, maybe a bushing to center the all thread inside of the tubing. I'll ask my wife, she know everything ;-)

all i can say is wow, I build most of my own shop tools to save money, but after watching the buildmi would have to say the harbour fright 179 dollar two shaft spindle sander with base looks awfully tempting, it has a small diameter and larger two inch snding drums and comes with two bags of different grit replacemnt sanding tubes and i cant see doing this build which i estimate would take in excess of twenty man hrs and about 300 us dollars in hardware to build, you may have a superior unit , but you paid well for it ,. keep up the good work.
