@donnabennett5454 I see your point, Donna. What gets me is that even though Doug and Carrie needed his dad's financial help. Joe had NO BUSINESS going into Carrie's closet and going through her things. I may be in the minority, but that was still their house, and even though they were asking Joe for help, relative or not, he is STILL a guest.
I believe that the clothing issue gets revisited later in Season 5.😂
I remember spending money on clothes I needed for my job. All my extra money went to those clothes. I quit.
what kind of job is that???
When she says "I accidentally put liquid paper in Kaplan's coffee" Doug responds with "I hear that gives you a great buzz" 😄
Why'd they cut that part?
Really? I didn't even catch that!
Lol maybe they were afraid people would actually try it?
@@endrankluvsda4loko172 I had actually thought about that. That maybe it was sending a bad message to younger, more impressionable people. I don't know. Just a thought.
They cut the best stuff.
fingernails?
She’s a secretary lol
How can they not have $$$, let alone $12,000. The father is right. They both have good paying positions, no children, no elderly parents to take care of, no school debt for any high-paying degrees, no travel experience, no property, real estate, or business( except their house). No schooling or entrepreneurship endeavors.
And to have nothing to show for all that, must suck.
Obviously applying this in real life, which is the reality of many people 🙄 unfortunately. Imagine, having all your $$$ go to just clothes, accessories, bags, shoes, jewelry. Which with the exception of precious metals, devalues?....
No elderly parents to take care of? Have you watched the show?
@@Jennyfischyou mean the parasitic loser that lives free and leaches off from both of them without offering anything useful, helpful or needed?!!!
@@Jennyfisch Right. They have Carrie's bum Dad living in the basement.
Doug spends his money on walks in the park and bags of pork rimes and Carrie is just too high maintenance
Come on you know Doug never walked a day in his life ….
Doug don't exercise
@@jennyfantana3717 it’s pretty obvious lol how long was Carrie trying to get him to lose wait and he refused too ?he lost the weight and ended up gaining it again all the food doug ate was unhealthy….
If they also hit convenient stores that can also drain your money fast. Pretty crazy
And to think they drive a Toyota Corolla clunker around. No car payments, no motorized toys, just take out and clothes, And they have no money in the bank for a rainy day or an emergency. Fools!
Not really. They did lease a Jeep Grand Cherokee (Actually, Doug did, just before IPS went on strike).
if doug put his bonus check in bank instead of stock market they would have money in bank but who fault that was oh that right carrie whenever doug get chances to earn money carrie ruin it for him just like bartender if he had stay at coopers where he was gettings lots of tips in cash he should stay there but no carrie have him be one in manhatten at club he was only getting 50cent there
I relate to this stuff so much now that I’m rewatching it. Life sure is a struggle sometimes
If i have a problem at my house i just call the landlord. Some dude comes and fixes it.
You don’t want to own your own house instead of renting?
Doesn't look like it.
Renting has it's perks, especially if you only stay in a town for a couple of years and like to travel.
At the end of the episode, in the diner, what does Arthur say he ordered?
Blue-fish
Another one has me stumped! Catfish?😂
@@frauleinmona The first commenter was right. Blue fish.
"It's fresh and delicious. I think they have their own boat."
@@VegasPokerNomad Ahhhahahahahaha! You know me by now. My guesses are always wrong. They're just random thoughts.😂 One of these days I'll get one right. And I mean a *real* one. Not one from a clip that we had only seen *two* days before! That one doesn't count!😁
@@frauleinmona Ok. They do post videos from the same episode close together sometimes. I'll try to ask questions that can't be answered by watching other videos on the channel.
Cause she is trying to cover up her fanny pack Doug😂😂😂😂😂
Does everybodys parents have $12k to give kids these days?
Mine never did.
Me either. Been on my own since I was 17
I would hope so
I got 12k on my own.
My grandpa gave his son $30k to build his house. Not a loan. A present.
In one hand, he is right about the money.
On the other hand, that man wizz on a butterfly.
So i don't know if i would take his advice.
Most women like to do 3 things: eat, talk, and shop.
The “Carrie” character wasn’t likable to me at all. I think it wasn’t too far from Leah’s real personality. She basically played the same person in everything she’s ever done.
If she wasn't physically attractive the show would have bombed.
Ouch!
That my show😅😅😅😅😂😂😂
this all feels too real T_T damn you Carrie, how irresponsible
He was irresponsible too. He knew about the problem and decided to ignore it. And he spend way too much money too.
@@lostvampire69 yeah because women respond well to you telling them to stop spending! Either you have no wife or you're a woman
Doug's father would've earned millions as a freelance bookkeeper in this day and age.
Joe could have worked for the Mob
I love how all sitcoms paint the husband as the goofy weak male who is afraid of his strong personality wife. Like a dog with its tail tucked between its legs. To show that is the normal behavior
right??? I honestly wonder are american husbands like this?
@@pixelated23-b9zno they aren’t it’s just comedy
It's kind of been the guideline since the Honey Mooners.
Another NY couple.
It's entertaining for both sexes who watch the TV.
Married with Children broke the mold.
However, there is one thing a TV husband never does. And that's cheat.
They can be an idiot and forget birthdays and anniversaries, but they never cheat.
@@travisdonaldstanley6420 the female audiences will never forgive that
Carrie later apologizes and admits her mistake
She should have spending these money to get a law degree
But, 🤔 she's not smart😂😂
@@arielbanks5557 she not smart about saving not smart about checking savings not smart in the business remember when she was starting real estate business she failed on that
@@arielbanks5557 don't forget her cellphone cases was a failer can't believe she thought it would sell nobody in their thirty's going walking around carry kids cellphone cases or buy them $45.00
Long story short Carrie doesn't want all those hotshot lawyers and their important clients noticing she's actually working class. I doubt they'd care that much but she doesn't want the risk of someone saying 'Oh a 30$ dollar sweater mine is 300.'. She's too proud of herself to admit her roots.
Carrie would've been making around $70-$80k a year, and Doug around $60k a year. So I was never sold on the idea that she couldn't afford 10 designer outfits 😆 they worked for multiple years, they would've had money put away whether they wanted to or not Lol
You'd be surprised of the people who don't have savings
Sadly, that has happened to many people. Unexpected medical issues or family tragedies have wiped people out of their savings.
an IPS driver gets 5000 $ per month in America??? If that's true I come over tomorrow!!
@@cumexolaf3276 I mean first of all IPS isn't a real company 😆 but being a delivery driver in NYC is a completely different looking paycheck than any regular city in America. And you'll never get hired as a driver in NYC anyway. There would probably be 150k applications ahead of you. If not a couple million
@@ronnrayy5449 sorry: UPS! Well, I got hired in cities like Frankfurt and Hamburg with my first try for the 2 biggest worldwide companies in our business. Of course NYC is 4 times as big, and I don't know how the generel job situation in the USA is. But having 150k Mexicans and Africans ahead of me should not be such a big problem.
When I was younger I had friends from the neighborhood that would sometimes work in construction or the oil industry getting paid pretty good but blowing it all on beer, weed and coke every weekend. I rarely drank and didn't care for getting high because I had bills and rent, living on my own and starting out. I never understood how they continued on like that.
Now you understand why Carrie's father lives in the basement.
I can't believe Doug and Carrie are in their mid 30s and have no emergency fund
Imagine that today, back then a ups driver can afford a mortgage, and a nice living, today people need two jobs just to being broke
Most Americans don't have an emergency fund you know.
Ya gotta know your numbers! 😉
It’s important to pick a mate who is a saver not spender. 😮
I loved this show! I never could get into Seinfield or Friends....is it just me?
Nope. The beauty of this show is it’s simple and so relatable. You don’t need a Ph.d to get the humor.
Same here it's my favorite to Binge Watch
The Sen is good.
Love the Sen.
Friends does nothing for me.
Just stay away from Everybody Loves Raymond.
I don't want you to become one of those people.
😊
Carrie can be annoying sometimes lol
Damn right!!!!!!!
I thought this was a scripted series with actors reading lines.
From the comments I get the idea that it was a hidden camera reality show where the people did not know they were being recorded. Who is wrong here?
All the comments are because this situation is all too common in too many peoples lives.
So cool to have someone with 12 thou just sitting around earning interest.
im getting ptsd
these aren't Charles Davids close the gates 🤣
When you're on a very fixed monthly income, it's imperative to keep track of every dollar spent.😮

“You don’t know what kind of idiot are you?”
I use digital banking for almost every transaction that way I know exactly where and when I have spent my money
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💚💚💚💚💚
This wasnt just Carrie's fault, Doug was the cause of the mold situation to begin with by choosing to ignore it if i remember clearly.
It’s both their fault. She was always the boss so I could see why Doug procrastinated. The irony is that this scene is true in many homes in real life today. Just Sad.
I introduced and started my ex on an IRA, and I scrimpt and saved. He is now on wife number 5, I was number three, and he took his very prolific ira with him. I kind of lost my mind at the time because I was just happy to get RID of his abusive arse. So justice was indirectly served in a non-financial way....
yikes, you sound very bitter.
I worked with a guy who would throw tantrums to get a raise because he wasn't making enough money so he'd get the raise spend every red cent and repeat the cycle over and over. I guess no one ever told him to live within his means.
Well the father is right, he wants the 12k back, so the advise is correct for the son save the money and pay him back.
Then she had the audacity to be angry at Doug and his dad for looking through her stuff, despite Doug’s constant take out meals this clothes of hers is the big problem of going in debt
Carrie is what's called "high maintenance"...
Doug’s Father was right though. No kids, good jobs and 2 incomes.. they definitely should’ve had some money saved up
If wearing Versace is a requirement of the job why isn’t the top law firm paying her more?
