Superman II - Metropolis battle [Man of Steel style with Hans Zimmer’s score]

- I used both the theater cut and the Donner cut of Superman II.
I rearranged the scenes to make the fight sequence tighter and to match the music.
This video was made purely for fun.
Music: You Die or I Do; If You Love These People; Krypton's Last from Man of Steel (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Hans Zimmer.
Okay, so in other words, every single complaint about the violence and product-placement in Man of Steel was entirely hypocritical. First time seeing anything from Superman 2, but this basically sums that up for me.
The first thing I thought after people whining about product placement in MoS was "didn't Superman throw Zod into a giant Coca Cola billboard?"
funny thing that no one complained about the destruction of the city back in this film, but now, people lose their minds in Man of Steel and BvS
Tadeu Henrique worst thing is this superman had training as well and MOS literally had a day to learn how to fight, it shows how poor fans and critics are when nostalgia is involved
@@heavensalarzon7067 all this Superman does is mimnal damage.He doesn't even blow up any buildings and he at least catches some debris.
@@redaxer2908 He didn't blow up any buildings in Man of Steel either. Zod was kicking Superman's ass in MoS. On top of that, majority of the damage done to the city was by the World Engine that Superman had to destroy first and did.
Because this superman cares for citizens while he fights but MoS superman doesn't.

I really like how they portrayed Clark's weakness here by having Zod attacking civilians. Kinda makes Clark hold back, worry, and distracted.

Note how people attacked the violence in Man of Steel. I guess they never saw this.

@ superdoug 92 The way they're smashing through buildings and stuff is also forgiven here versus hell being raised over it in MoS.
Kind of amazing how well this fits; both fights end with Zod threatening to kill innocent people, and Superman telling him to stop. This fight ends with Zod delivering a blow to Superman instead of Supes killing Zod though.
cometandcupids I know, but that wasn't in this scene. It came later.
If only Nam-Ek and Faora were in the MOS Final Battle.
They were Faora is lead female villain with ZOD and big tall villain guy is meant to be NON/ NAM-EK in the man of steel
@@andysahs1599 Neither of them were in the actual final battle with Superman in Metropolis. Only Zod. Supes only fought them in Smallville earlier in the film.

Todays soundtracks tend to provide a momentary thrill, but lack the soul of yesteryear’s themes (ie, John Williams theme) that stay with you for the rest of your life.
stefano78 I disagree. While John Williams’ film scores always had a great impact on me as a kid, his Superman music (aside from the main theme) is rather forgettable and doesn’t really capture the gravity of who Superman is and what he’s doing. Zimmer and Junkie XL did a great job capturing the soul of Superman, Zod, Lex Luthor and Batman. One of the best things about the BvS soundtrack is that Luthor’s theme is Superman’s theme backwards, reflecting their rivalry.
I’m not dissing John Williams as a composer, his work on Star Wars, ET, Jaws, Schindler’s List, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park is some of the best film music you could find, but his work on Superman doesn’t hold up quite as well, mainly because while the character of Superman is timeless, the old movies are very dated and focused more on the “wow, he’s flying” than they did on who he is and why he does what he does or how people would realistically act towards him. Then again, DC didn’t really become mature until the 80’s. The New Teen Titans, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Batman: Year One, Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, etc.

oh boy. when i watched this movie the first time, it seemed like wow. now... meh. i totally cannot dig this Superman anymore. too... perfect. no consequences around this guy. no destruction, apart from a few broken windows and some bent pipes. nobody dies, he just flies backwards and turns back time. back then, all this was cool. back then, i was a kid, didn't know ppl can actually die in fights like these. now i know better.
You can't cage Non and then have him pick up the bus, other than that, it was an awesome edit.
John Williams's soundtrack can't be beaten, good job but original is way better

Peter CUSHING and Dominic CUMMERBACH are very good when they played Sherlock HOLMES. I can like old and young things , and this is the same for the soundtrack , Hans Zimmer is so good in Gladiator or the three Batman Movie , but for me The Soundtrack of Superman is the music of John WILLIAMS. And remember for Superman 2 the music of John WILLIAMS was conducted by Ken THORN, this is not so good
