Hollywood Bros Speak Their Mind
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2015
- In this week's of Ask a Bro, host Lauren Oyler suffers the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where she learns that talent is dead and everything is fake. Lauren is in LA on the lookout for fame bros; luckily, they're the opposite of elusive. The men she meets are happy to regale her with tales of celebrity, of plastic surgery and reality TV, of Instagram fans and being destined for stardom. Indeed, it seems there's nothing these bros love more than themselves-besides, maybe, their hoverboards.

She's asking extremely leading questions...
the host seems bored and not engaged... viewers are not attracted to her personality for this channel. Please listen to your public Broadly.
+Jilly Joel Some viewers are! I like her. I'm sure that people who do like are less likely to post to say so than people who feel like saying something negative.
This video makes me uncomfortable, she's such a white feminist, and she's unprofessional and wants to provoke a certain answer - it's bad journalism
Was about to write a similar comment. I like their topics but some of the journalists for Broadly are a bit arrogant.
I don't mean to be rude, but I honestly don't know if it's a good idea to have this particular host as representation of this channel. I think she may have some difficulty connecting with those she's interviewing and it translates through video. I believe it's something she can work on. My opinion on plastic surgery is if someone makes that choice with their life then that's their choice. I don't believe you have to shame people who have it to promote the idea of natural beauty
+Jessica Howard (Jesslovespiggies) I personaly can accept breast implants but lips and butts are taking it to far or being to lazy, men can go to a gym and get the muscles but a woman cant train her boobs to grow bigger, if she doesnt get pregnant twice and by some miracle doesnt get saggy ones :P So it is fair if you are very insecure with your chest, a womans cleavage is a very prominent feature on a woman. just like muscles on a man. And yeah that presenter was totally biased and weird. And the flirting with that one guy :P
She's biased and very bad at hiding it. Journalists should know that appearing judgmental skews the outcome of an interview, because people are less likely to answer truthfully if they sense judgment. If she doesn't change her approach, she will be interviewing nobodies on the street for her entire career.
This host's pretentious attitude cancel out any context her questions might have progressed towards. ugh.
"it's not my fault" uhhhhh. that way of thinking MAKES it your fault, dude.
thank you SO MUCH broadly for taking a stroll down hollywood blvd and showing how truly clueless and exhasperating cishet-california dudes are.
+Marceline Abadeer Sexist
Just come from Vice's main channel, I see this new channel is just yet another echo chamber for the nutjob 4th wave, first world feminists.
Glad you guys have got yourselves another echo chamber, I guess you're a crowd that pays. Being monetised by Vice - wooooo! Empowerment! Fuck men! Yay!
+Marceline Abadeer lmao shut up you sexist moron, generalizing all men in California, get a grip
Talking to the wrong Cali dudes then. Smfh
this reporter is weird haha where's the English black girl?
So, this host is an example of who NOT to become. She's probably a self-proclaimed feminist who thinks of herself as someone super open-minded and advanced, while in reality she projects her ideas and stereotypes onto other people, trying to make them be who she wants them to be. Instead of having an open conversation, instead of actually LISTENING she stands there with that stupid smirk and comes off as rude and irritating. Basically - by trying to make others look like fools she ends up looking like one. Bitter. Very bitter. I enjoy most of Broadly videos, however this host managed to ruin quite a few of them so far.
I like the series, maybe by us judging her to be an "angry feminist" or "bad attitude" we are in ourselves circumventing the whole point of this channel which is to do away with the idea that she should be quiet and reserved. Many journalists have adopted a stand-offish, and other personal styles that may seem odd, but compliment this modern climate of personality driven viewership. She's got me watching.
+Xavier Toussaint Have you considered it's not how she's presenting herself that people dislike, but what she's presenting that people take issue with?
If a guy walked up to random women on the street and used a derogatorily gendered term with obvious negative implications to identify them, asking condescending/leading questions, they'd be received as a douche.
Or is that unfair to say in a padded hugbox/echo chamber?
You're a moron.
some of those bros actually had some pretty decent and positive stuff to say. i can see why people dislike the host.
She has the body language and voice of a school teacher from the 50's...
Please rid this channel of this host her attitude and personality have been predictable since the Virginie Despentes interview. She seems haughty. Funny thing she doesn't seem very different from the these groups of "bros" (one sided/ignorant). Is she trying to educate and spread awareness or condescend people?
Please remove this horrible interviewer/host!
That area of LA is hell on earth literally. I think about all the Euro tourist that go there and what they must think of our country after experiencing it.
The "Bro" with the bike totally surprises me, then totally doesn't.
Alice the Mad Rabbit why does he "then doesn't"?
She's not really allowing the people to answer the questions and kind of being condescending when they do answer. I'm not sure why this is a segment we all know how these guys feel about the issues she's presenting to them..
I love this host! I don't understand all the flack she is getting. Yes she asked somewhat obvious questions but that is only because some of the people she interviewed were not intelligent enough to see the point so she had to lead them to it. Great job Lauren,X
Hear hear!
+Aimee G well one point is that she is grouping men in catagories like bros and whatnot, and then is confused because she cant see the difference anymore? you cant see how crazy that is? :P
If you love this host then you're a moron.
This girl's attitude is obnoxious and judgemental..
Host is meh :/
It's great that she has feministic opinions and speak about them, and explore these themes by asking people about it. But I thought the premise of being a journalist was to be somewhat "neutral" in some capacity, so that the people being interviewed doesn't get affected by her and answer accordingly.
Adding to the comment of the host, while she asks good questions her tone comes off as really condescending when asking the "bros", which would end up being an issue if it was a male host talking condescendingly towards women- this kinda of defeats the purpose of equality. I'm all for her asking the questions she's asking but tone of voice comes a long way.
Interviewer bashes honest men for liking women that look more attractive than the interviewer. So this is feminism?
TheBratscin no, but that is a glimpse into your mind
Broadly: Start with a theory, and then work backwards from there.
"Do you ever feel guilty as a man?" Disgusting. Take responsibility for your own thought process. Don't blame someone else because you chose to do something to make yourself feel better because you couldn't take ownership of your own self esteem. & if you do choose to do something to feel better about yourself own that you did it for you, no one else forced you into doing it & enjoy that you made a proactive choice for your own benefit. Feminism is destroying women's ability to think for themselves.
I simply adore this channel.
Those three guys at the end are not famous, no matter how many instagram followers they have. They're also completely missing the point of what she was trying to get at.
This host is so freaking smug. Like, oh yeah, you got points.
"I am One Direction." I DIE
What about talent??? Spot on she great she the least fake 👍🏻
Her vocal fry is KILLING ME!
I feel like the host's attitude may come from ignorance, cause to a point she seems completely defensive and biased. Why does she seem to completely ignore the fact that plastic surgery, for example, is a far more complex topic. It has to do with your identity and your personal choices not just because of the pressure that media and Hollywood put on women. She's chopping off mayor topics that are important when discussing this matter. And it's hurtful because she's almost judging people for giving her the answer that she wanted to get on the first place! Do you really think broadly needs such a condescending host?
lol "that's the PC thing to say" hahaha
I really enjoyed this. Great host, great responses from the guys as well. You should do more.
really, this only works because all the normal people went, "fuck that, I've got better shit to do with my time" then they walked right past her. The real sad story is a presenter who can't come up with anything more original
"talent?! That's not a thing"
Really wanna know what reality show those guys are on (if there even is one) lololol
bro ballerinas on dem boarrrdzzz ;p haha… (social commentary here) … love more .. bless!!
I couldn't even finish.... i felt like i was losing brain cells watching this.
Homegirl has that power stance down! Get it
why pick an obviously bitter, condescending host like this?
The ummmm, three guys who are "about to be famous" seem as if there is nothing to them at all. Simply shallow and a horrible representation of men as a generalization. There are some great guys out there.
"Do you ever feel guilty as a man?"
"Guilty? It's not my fault."
wow.
it's not a man's fault. it's the fashion industry run by majority women and gays.
Omfg it's Igor Stepanov!!!!
Do I giggle or cry?
Was this reporter trying to be bad?! Cause it worked!!
She is not happy. I probably wouldn't be either doing that interview. One of the guy's who she interviewed actually who had decent interviews was totally hitting on her and seemed like he was just trying to impress her and not look bad. But I don't know, just my opinion.
Her approach was a bit negative. However, I am so glad I don't live in Hollywood.
That's that fucking dude from Tumblr!
what a bro
The host is trying to push the negativity of plastic surgery on women. 1. Presuming women are mindless drones and only get it because of pressure from the media. 2. Refusing to accept it might make people feel better about themselves.
Personally I don't like it but it's no different than covering yourself in tattoos to create an image for yourself.
As always, Buzz vice feed can't get a level headed host.
coldworld5 I totally agree with you. I've had (thousands of dollars worth) therapy AND one cosmetic surgery. I can honestly say that BOTH set of experiences have helped me. I volunteer every week, have had much personal & financial success. I'm educated, comfortable with who I am inside & out and have no regrets. I hate reverse stigma & shaming and general attitude that people who get plastic surgery are all emotionally unhealthy and/or stupid & superficial. I don't identify with those stereotypes at ALL.
It's unfair that women have plastic surgery and men don't. How the fuck is that? It's the a womans own choice, how is that unfair? The reporter asks leading questions, which is a big 'no no' as a journalist. In other words: She's super biased towards a certain worldview that she sets out to confirm. That's not journalism, that's simply trying to confirm your own worldview. Fx. the question "Don't you think that it's responding to a pressure [to look a certain way]?". She didn't ask "Why do you think that is?" - again, she's trying to confirm what she already is thinking is the problem by asking leading/biased questions which makes the interviewee confined to a certain type of answer.
+Dawkins & Tools she does this in every interview. Its grating.
I like this chick, LOL. Come on! Shes laid back, straightforward, but has the same kind of attitude that a comedian would have when interviewing random people on the street. Each reporter has their thing and I like how different each one is. At the end "what about talent?" "Nah its not a thing." LOL
why she's in so much anger?
Cool vid
The first three guys are awesome.
This is the voice fry channel
she talks about how people judge women's body while she herself has used a kilo of make up. why not dress like men if you want to be judged like men with no make up and no plastic? don't blame men. it is all evolution.
Those guys on the weird machines...do they hang out like that all day and is that the walk to fame?
shes so angry
product placement whaaaat...
The host really annoys me. It's like no matter what a guy says she doesn't like it. She makes the interviews awkward to watch as well. And did anyone else notice how the black guy talking about being famous on the last interview was over doing it? He seemed overly stuck up and confident that he's a celebrity and he's not even anybody yet?????
Modern day Hills? Isn't that just Hills?
This lady acts very very smug.
She seems to be like one of the feminists who doesn't understand the concept of equality.
Basically talking down to any male who wasn't walking on glass while talking to her.
5:04 Love Connection
haha when she doesn't hear something she wants to hear she gets irritated way to fast. I would not want to talk to her
you're using the wrong kind of person to interview humans that's aren't so opinionated broadly.I love this channel, please, just not this girl.
haha
broadly, otherwise known as the shitty vice! and referring to something as the "shitty vice" says a lot.
I subscribed to this channel thinking it was gonna expand my mind but i feel like every video has the same theme of sex equality and nothing more i mean its ok but that cant be a whole channel srsly
oh please broadly, fire this woman. she's terrible.
so many negative comments about the host,,,II think she's wonderful. people just dont get it -.-
I loved when they said Emma Watson
This is what is called a radical feminist
Cool, lets keep bringing up feminism (a means to dissolve prejudices) while simultaneous being judgmental towards other (not women) people.
apparently everyone has a problem with the host. every video comment. "fire here" etc
igor stepanov! ay hes fine af (british dude with jesus on his neck/model)
i like the host lol
Cringe, just cringe ( edited to add: at some of the bro responses, not the interviewer - noticed a bunch a yall were trashing her in the comments so felt like i should clarify )
The host is sweet, though she could of laughed a little? even if it was a super awkward belly laugh, it would of made the show! And I actually respect the guys at the end for just saying it as it REALLY is nowhere days in Hollywood and tbh most places, it's a fucking shame but what you gonna do until the trend dies out
Awwww they're so cute :)))
this host... brutal
These guys aren't even bros. These bro videos with this interviewer are awful, I can barely make it through them. I love all the other videos. She seems like she's trying to make them look bad, but they're not bad guys, or douchy bros.
are the bros acting..
also lauren I think you're doing a really great job
So many self hating women, defending douchey guys....like what....stop supporting and defending people that are shitty and have male privilege. She has a right to be angry at people that act like they own the world and marginalize women because of the sheer fact that they are women.
Ugh, get rid of this interviewer. She's rude, very condecending and talks like a Kardashian. She even ends her sentences like one of them. She can't even hide her distaste for the people she interviews, just look at her face expressions. She doesn't like people. And what's the hands on her hip stand for?
they all look like hipsters
Men are whole; women are parts? I don't get humans.
Why is she only asking men? Ohyeah, because a man was 2015 woman of the year. hahaha
I like this interviewer, I don't why there's get so much negativity towards her. I don't see any trace of condescension in her facial expression or body language.
I'm attracted to Hermione Granger, not Emma Watson.
The host is the one direction you know why? because she's biased
condescending host,
feminist nightmare, how do they function? so out of touch
what's up with this chick lol
host is incredible loud and obnoxious
Try-hard frumpy host
please fire the presenter, and why does she not make an effort to look good? Plain t shirt, no make up....maybe its a feminist thing.
Hate what vice has turned into.
I love broadly, but this was awful.
