Here for everyone except Jon Hamm. We need more clarification on that hazing incident. He still hasn't fully addressed that issue, and no one is pressing him for answers. It's bewildering considering how disturbing and serious the crime was.
It's not your job to avenge an event we don't know the truth about from 35 YEARS AGO. Maybe Jon made some mistakes in his past that hurt people; maybe he didn't. Either way, our culture of grievance and righetous cancelation is out of control. Does he not get to have a career now unless he explains himself to you? Sorry, the punishment is up to civil lawsuits through the court system and/or law enforcement if there was a criminal act. That's how it works in civilized society. You don't get to muzzle anyone because of whatever mistake they made, however awful. All you get to decide is whether you want to see their filmed work or not. Hamm doesn't owe you anything, let alone an explanation for something that doesn't concern you. If he had harmed you or your family, you'd have a case. Go find new targets for that cyber-axe you're grinding, but I hope you won't be on the receiving end of the same from others who might stop you from making a living based on the worst thing YOU'VE ever done. Ever feel guilty about something? Do something shameful, secretive, illegal, wrong? Of course you have. So why do you get to judge anybody else? Were you there? I hope you have legions of anonymous, supercilious people condemning you for life - with no room for context, nuance, humanity, or proportion - because of it.
Seeing Nick and Callum sitting there like attentive students, trying to soak in all the wisdom these more experienced actors are sharing is rellay sweet ❤❤
Nicholas has such a grounded, old soul vibe to him. His vocabulary, the way of expressing and arranging his thoughts- very articulate. I'm so proud to see him looking comfortable in that setting with senior actors talking about his work as opposed to his earlier interview where he's a bit nervous.

@@ericaallen9971Yup Nick definitely emits some 'old soul' vibes. I feel that he can play a period piece character quite convincingly, say maybe someone in the 50's ~ 60's era.
Here for Nicholas Galitzine❤ This is his first roundtable discussion and i'm so proud, hope he will continue the trajectory for his career exploring all the different genre that he want to explore😎
Nick is GREAT in interviews! He can be eloquent, and his vocabulary is amazing.🤩🤩🤩 He didn't necessarily stand out in this roundtable discussion, but catch his other interviews!😍😍😍😍
His current project is a film of the book "Three Bags Full", a novel about a herd of sheep who solve the mystery of the violent death of their sheperd - imagine if Agatha Christie had a go at writing "Babe". I'm pretty certain he will be voicing one of the sheep, and I wonder if him saying here that he'd love to do voice work is him deliberately hinting at that?
Update: Sadly, I must report that he will not, in fact, be a sheep, and that the writers have written a new character for the film who isn't in the novel and is the part Nicholas is playing. Still, I'm excited to see the movie when it's finished, the book is a lot of fun, and Mr Galitzine is always a delight!
I see Nicholas Galitzine’s face, I click. Didn’t even realize it’s a scheduled video. Nick really enchants you that you don’t notice anything else but his damn gorgeous smile & face😍
Big props to whoever chose these set of actors together because the chemistry, energy and insight between them was wonderful to watch. And you can tell they all felt similar, really refreshing.
So enjoyable to listen to Nicholas. He's so relatable, intelligent, full of humor, yet humble and just really collegial to his co-actors. And of course the entire group was really interesting.
It is always a treat to watch Nick being his charming and thoughtful self, I adore listening him. He is so passionate about his craft and his chemistry with everyone on table was explosive again! What a fun and talented roundtable, all fantastic actors!
24:29 I really love Matt Bomer’s perspective on Shakespeare’s stage directions and just living the character in those moments. I appreciate the idea of not getting caught up in the minutia of what another person wants to see, and just allowing yourself space to bring that character to life. I don’t think it’s advice that applies equally to every role/project - like Bridgerton for example, where it’s meant to be scene for scene, look for look, based on a book. But it does make sense in the context of an actor like Matt Bomer, someone who truly embodies his roles. He does extensive character work for every role, often crossing into method acting. Like he keeps a journal about the characters he plays titled “My Split Personality Says…”. During the filming of Maestro, he not only wrote the real love letters of the historical figures out by hand, but he even gave them to his scene partner before filming the scenes that correlated with the appropriate time in that character’s life. He does research about the historical figures, settings, or themes in his upcoming projects, ie the Lavender Scare, white collar crime, David Oppenheim, etc. and takes “reams and reams and reams of pages of notes” on his characters. He even lived in isolation for a month, away from his family, to play an extremely lonely and isolated character, and once lost a dangerous amount of weight for a movie based on some of NY’s first HIV/AIDS activists, saying “if I have to risk my life to do it […] then it’s worth it to me to tell that story.” He’s done Dream Work with a professional therapist and has consistently worked with a movement teacher for his roles. Moreover, he’s learned instruments of his characters, even though he knew he wouldn’t really be the one playing them for the film. This man is committed 🥇 I had obviously loved White Collar but I got to do a bit of research on him for a sociology and pop culture class and absolutely fell in love ❤ (The quotes are from this article, which takes a more in depth look at his some of his character work techniques www.backstage.com/magazine/article/matt-bomer-the-sinner-acting-technique-advice-70057/)
Thank you for your detailed yet informative and valuable comment. I'm watching White Collar for the first time right now, and after falling for Neal Caffrey, I quickly looked up Matt's name on the internet and learned about his understanding and enthusiasm for his job. He's not only an attractive face; he's one of the best actors of all time. 😊
The fact that at the end, asked about the last piece of acting that made them jealous/impressed them...they all discussed actresses is telling and beautiful that they admire talent and don't restrict it to their own gender. Sometimes you ask someone and they will list someone like themselves or someone who they believe they could "become".
I loved that answer Callum gave, when he said his dog is the way in which he unwinds and gets back to normal life at the end of the day. So simple and normal. Also love Jon’s attitude directed towards the newer guys about freedom in the job and encouraging them to say no or try anything in any platform and being positive about the future.
Love this video. One of the best of these roundtable things I’ve seen. And I agree with Matt Bemer, Cary Mulligan in Maestro was, in my opinion, majorly overlooked. She’s such a brilliant actress and has been for a long time, but her work in that movie was just amazing, especially the part when she was dying of cancer. It was so moving.
The Knick, Mad Men, The Beat Beneath my Feet, The Idea of You, Mary and George are all favorites of mine. Young Nicholas in The Beat Beneath my Feet blew me away!
This discussion is so arresting, enlightening, satisfying. These actors are worthy of our deepest respect, and for their professional courage and honesty.
