I'm literally in tears as I wrestle with the tug to unschool and though a lot to learn still I feel overwhelmingly encouraged that this is the path for my littles. Thank you!
You can do this! Nothing is in stone and there's no educational emergencies. Slow it all down and move in this direction. You'll understand more, the more you do it. (just my 2 cents ;) )
I stumbled across this video but I have to agree, Sue's voice in this video about unschooling just draws me right in! And I had to listen to it all the way to the end to get every golden word!
This is so nice ❤ ive been so excited by the idea of unschooling and real life learning and the slower pace and freedom of it ❤ thank you for sharing this 💕🙏
I adored what you said: "this unschooling life is all about TRULY individualizing all of it." Boom mic drop! I am new to the homeschooling thing, my oldest technically will be starting Kindergarten this fall but we've already started homeschooling him... as in we are still doing all kinds of regular life things with him. Just living our life, incorporating things and activities we would do anyways. I have had a bit of a hard time with the curriculum thing because I see so many people with elaborate curriculums and plans and I don't know if I am that kind of person or not. Mostly because what I think would be cool I don't think my kid would think is cool. We've been following his interests and going with the flow of that. But if I do encourage some things like reading everyday, and writing out his numbers, or practicing some time and money flash cards I can still call myself an unschooler? Those things to be are part of life so I am hoping to grow my own mental and verbal commitment to being an unschooling home. And its hard! I was in the school system so I can relate - that is all I know! That is all I was exposed to. This is new territory but it feels so right.
Thank you! There's no Unschooling Police, so you're safe. ;) The path to getting the most out of unschooling is to spend a lot of time deschooling. I have an entire playlist here you can work through. Curriculum may end up being unnecessary speed bumps in the road for you and your kids. There are all kinds of ways to see the learning opportunities that weave through our daily lives, we just have to notice it! I'm so glad our paths have crossed!
I love your business Sue and what you've created here❤
Thank you!! I love helping parents see that they have options! 💖
